Sonic Mania 25th Anniversary

To celebrate Sonic's 25th anniversary, Sega will release a new Sonic game that has a retro feel, to pay tribute to Sonic roots: do you think about it? I personally think this could be good, but it depends of many factors. Some Sonic games were filled with bugs in recent years, and the 15th anniversary GBA port of Sonic 1 was one prime example. I hope that Sonic 25th anniversary won't suffer the same fate. I personally liked Sonic Generations a lot. ...

3DNes Beta - Play your NES games with 3D graphics!

I just found this in a Facebook group: 3DNes Beta, a new NES emulator. But it has a twist: When you load a ROM, the game graphics will show in 3D and in some cases it's very cool. only problem is that it's only playable in Firefox and you cannot load a ROM from your computer. You have to (temporarily) host it on Dropbox or another cloud file storage service, then provide th...

For those who don't know, Mighty No 9 is a 2D sci-fi platformer. It's basically the CodeWalrus of the Mega Man series. It was funded on Kickstarter a few years ago and was supposed to come out on consoles and Steam in 2015. However, it then suffered from several delays and the release date was eventually set to Q2 2016 or TBA, depending of the source. , the worst part right now is that Comcept, the company behind this game, has not posted any message on their Faceb...

I'm getting an Xbox One for my birthday (I'm asking for my friends to get me GameStop gift cards - yes I'll get some strange looks at the counter when I show up with a McDonald's toy's worth of plastic), and the party is in less than a week. Before you tell me to get a PS4, let me just say that I'm only getting a One to play with my friends, since most of my friends who play multiplayer games have a One (although some have a PS4 too). I have some bad news (related to Walrii contest and Steam)

Hi I have some bad news:It appears that Steam no longer sells Steam Wallet (gift card) codes online to be given to someone else. During the first CW contest, there was an option in Steam stores to send Steam wallet codes to other people. But it's now gone and now the only way to buy a gift card for someone else is to go to a physical Gamestop store or order one on Amazon to be shipped at your home. Not only that, but they now only provide fixed amounts of $20, 50, 100, no custom ones. Since CodeW...

TIS-100 (A programming game)

Here's a game you guys might find interesting. A friend of mine showed me this earlier today.TIS-100 is a programming game where you write code on a fictional processor using an assembly-like language to solve puzzles. What's interesting is that the game splits the processor into a network of nodes, making it so you have to consider topological adjacency in your programs. It's pretty fun. It's on steam, and it's only $7. ...

Several years ago, when Meelee came out, somebody told me that Super Smash Bros 64 was not the first game in the series and that the first one was actually made in 1993 for the NES in Japan and only featured 2 fighters at a time. I didn't know the title so I couldn't find it on the Internet, so eventually, I started thinking it was not true. However, I have finally found the game that that person talked to me about: It's Kart Fighter for the NES. Juju just posted this on IRC: is apparently a canceled PC remake or port of the NES game Super Mario Bros 3. It either was in early stages or just was poorly implemented, because the physics seems broken, but it's still interesting to know. Back in the days, it seemed common for Nintendo to allow third-parties to use Mario in their own Mario games. For example, Hudson Soft once made Super Mario Bros.
