O.O

Now that's something I never thought I would see in my life. Smoking is bad for your health, but unlike World of Warcraft, playing Flappy Bird is actually safer and less addicting than nicotine.

The guy who did this even released an SDK to make your own firmware.
https://github.com/ReservedField/evic-sdk

Apparently, this thing has an ARM processor with 32kb of RAM and 128kb of ROM.

At 35$ and with 3 buttons, it is actually a bit cheaper than a GameBuino.
Let's make video game consoles out of cigarettes.

Darn, e-cigs are serious business there O.O. it has the same amount of RAM as the TI-83+ (the one that lacks an USB port)

Good reason to start smoking, eh vaping...
Well, to be honest I don't like things getting overengineered and overkill, but this thing is kinda cool.

Wow. O.O

I never thought humanity would get to this, even if it looks kinda cool. Now if this was a key-chain instead of an e-cig, it might be a little more sensible.

Personally, I would rather see this on a vape pen or something than an e-cigarette for the people who lives in Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Vancouver, Amsterdam and Uruguay. Not that I encourage people to start using cannabis but if anyone was to use it in places where it's legal, then it's safer and less addicting than nicotine. I mean, if someone has an e-cigarette and has just stopped smoking entirely, then just by holding the e-cigarette the person can start craving for nicotine. It's that bad. So basically, just from playing Flappy Bird on it you might be tempted to smoke again.

Nonetheless, I love how the programming community has managed to push technology to such levels. :)

Well, there's always a time for firsts...
So, you would be addicted to raging at the game?
:P

Actually, now you bring up another issue: The rage induced by Flappy Bird would actually be another incentive to take another puff O.O

Haha, but you first have to reflash it before you can smoke :P

Oh right, I forgot about that. So I guess it's a good thing if you're away from home. Less nicotine for you. :P

That's unless the author of the game decided to make a bootloader that lets you dual-boot between the smoking firmware and the game one.

Another worry I have is if someone made an e-cig game that had a bug, could the bug inaverdently trigger the e-cig heating mechanism? If Apple somehow decided to release an iVape and dominated the e-cigarette market, allowing such hacks to become mainstream, then I bet safety concerns surrounding buggy softwares would be enough to make them lock down their device. <.<

Thats pretty cool :o

Well, maybe playing Flappy Bird might also infuriate the smoker and make them throw it out the window of a 4 story building onto a busy street. :P
u/Dream of Omnimaga April 16, 2016, 08:54:20 PM
That too. But I think people who are addicted to cigs will do anything to protect them. :P (not as much as with some drugs or games, tho)
