Recommend me a sub-€45 mouse

So, I noticed that my middle mouse click is dying on my Logitech G300, which is a PAIN because I use it all the time. I really like the mouse, so naturally I'm looking at the g300s as a replacement but maybe you guys know something better. The mouse I'm looking for must at the very least have the following functionality:1) Next/prev page buttons2) DPI switch. Call it a 'sniper button' if you want, I usually don't use it for sniping but sometimes you just need that temp extra accuracy.3) DPI rang...

Inbox by Gmail - anyone use it?

So I logged into my gmail a few days ago, roughly a week I think, and I got a popup to switch to 'Inbox by Gmail'. Apparently, it's a new thing that's going to replace Gmail in the future, and I must say after getting used to it for a bit it's really awesome. My inbox hasn't been as organized as it is now Basically, Inbox emphasizes archiving and makes it way easier to do so, so I often have my inbox entirely empty. It's awesome and I recommend it. I also don't exactly know why I'm writing this...

What headphones/earphones do you own?

Ditto to the title.I have a pair of V-Moda Crossfade LP2(Over-ear) headphones. The sound is great and the durability is on a whole other level(I feel like it can stop a bullet, but I won't test it). And the price was amazing($130)!

iPhone X

So yeah, Apple Keynote happened, and the iPhone X was revealed. Looks cool, but look at that price tag!$999 for 3gb of ram and 64 gb of storage$1,149 for 3gb of ram and 256gb of storageIn comparison, a OnePlus 5 with 8 gb of ram and 128gb of storage is only $539.Yeah, maybe you want that cool screen or Face ID or Animojis, but even then, is it worth 1k? Especially when smartphones half the cost(and even less) can do the job of a smartphone perfectly?

Don't use Windows 7 legacy Backup on Windows 10

Long story short; about three months ago I wanted to use said program to create a backup of my Windows 10 machine. It failed again and again, and a thorough chkdsk revealed that every single cluster of the external HDD it was writing to was marked bad.Today I managed to get myself to have a look at it. Interestingly, a little digging with diskpart made me discover that -8MB (yes, negative 8 megabytes) was free for usage. I erased the partition and did a full format, taking about 6,5h. So far I s...

My idea for an anonymous, encrypted app/network

So i got this idea, with ppl all concerned with privacy, why not program a network (and a client/app to use it), that uses key encryption and a proxy sever. I know MIT runs a keyserver, but it is practically just a database, there is no graphical way to search for users or send messages, and there is no infrastructure for irl-like channelsSo it would work like this: The client would establish a secure connection to the server The cleint would push, via the secure co...

Open CW creative server to the general public [minecraft]

As of right now, all that the CW server is doing is eating up CPU time on some forgotten computer somewhere. No one ever plays on it much. If we open to the general public we could advertise the server on MC forums, and maybe even pull some activity towards codewalrus. Buildings could be protected by some plugin, maybe even Cumred_Snektron could write it. Unlike a normal towny plugin, were you must 'pay' to keep your town protected, this plugin would protect land based on pla...

Ting, the Phone Service

I'm looking at signing up for Ting . It's $14 for a SIM card to activate your phone, and then $6/month for line access, everything else is postpaid, which sounds good to me. Does anyone have any comments about this service, and since a referrer gets $50 off their service, is there anyone who is able to be a referrer?

Windows 10

So I upgraded to Windows 10 yesterday. It said the system requirements are identical as Vista so I figured I would be fine, since my PC could run Windows 7 more than well. After several hours the upgrade was done. To my surprise, Starcraft: Brood War actually ran on Windows 10, sort-of, and it did not have the color bug from Windows 7 that caused colors to look funny. Of course Battle.net no longer works and I get memory violation errors upon exiting, but I guess there are fixes for that anyway....

What if Google suddenly disappeared entirely?

I was curious about something a while ago since we are so dependent on technology: What if, one day, Google immediately ceased all its operations and shut down all its services with no warning, destroyed all its backups and vanished entirely? Would people just get used to Vimeo and Bing while mourning the loss of billions of videos and e-mails over the last decade? Would worldwide economy collapse beyond recovery? Or would modern civilization simply collapse into some sort of dystopia, unable to...
