Don't we already have a Pokémon Go topic?

There's never enough Pokémon Go topics.
MOAR GO!
Mever played it, but might get someone too let me play.
I should try to see what I can catch in old Quebec at some point.
So far I estimate about 50% of my colleagues has been spotted going outside during breaks to catch pokemon... It's spreading.
Darn, the Pokemon Go craze is insane. I wonder if microtransactions will cause Nintendo to make more money than with the Wii U. Also I just catched my 3rd Pokemon at my work place on a table during break.
Now if only the game could be modded with :walrii: instead of Pokémons.
QuoteDarn, the Pokemon Go craze is insane. I wonder if microtransactions will cause Nintendo to make more money than with the Wii U
Pokemon Go is the reason why Nintendo should cancel the Wii U and the NX and become a third-party developer.
I WANT TO PLAY POKEMON AND SUPER SMASH BROS ON MY GAMING PC WITH ALL GRAPHICS MAXED OUT !
Pokemon GO is unlike anything Nintendo has released before (it would be impossible to have Pokemon GO on the Wii U or 3DS in their current forms, in fact.) However, Nintendo has previously stated that their more traditional gaming experiences would remain on Nintendo hardware. After the success of this game, I do wonder if they will they stick to spin offs like Pokemon GO for future mobile offerings.
I wonder if the NX will run Go. If the rumour about the mobile part is true they could probably make it work pretty well.
I bet Nintendo will jump on the microtransactions bandwagon for mobile games and offer the apps for free.
As for the NX I hope nobile support doesn't mean yet another last-gen hardware console that is inferior to the Wii U or something, though (like the OUYA)

Not so sure about Pokémon on PC though. Even though there is no real reason for this to be, I feel like Pokémon is and should always be a game on handheld devices.
I agree about Smash too though.
Pokemon is perfect for mobile devices. It's always been Nintendo's 'get out there' social franchise, kinda, sorta.

Well, it made perfect sense for old Pokemon games when you needed to be facing a friend to exchange Pokemons with a cable, and it makes perfect sense with Pokemon Go for obvious reasons.
But modern and "regular" Pokemon games nowadays don't have a real reason to be on handheld. Exchanging Pokemons can happen online and stuff...
Though yeah, as I said, I feel like they belong on handhelds only, just like they always did, but I really have no argument to defend that.
Well Pokémon is more comfy on a handheld. Gives you something to do during car trips. :P
But you need to walk or bike for Pokemon Go. Unless you're in a jam, then you could check out some pokestops while switching lanes. :P
But if they switch to mobile, they need to make controls intuitive, unlike those Square Enix RPG ports. Make it you can click the destination you want to go to, like MMORPGs
All my classmates play now. I, as usually don't though.
Haven't thought that it would be so hyped.
My issue with Pokemon Go is that sometimes you might not be willing to have the entire neighborhood to look at you with weird looks because you are spending 3-4 minutes starring at their houses or yard. If the game did not take so long to load on startup or had a shorter animation when catching creatures then that would not be a problem.
I'm sure they will be no less busy catching their own pokemon.
Nah, my neighborhood is full of old people who spend their entire days stalking other people for extra newspaper item submissions :P
Question: Why aren't our e-mail inboxes getting flooded with spam that contains fake Pokémon Go account banning threats and asking us to login via a fake form if we don't want to lose our account? I was sure I would start getting those e-mails 17 seconds after the game came out.
Also I hope there isn't any landmarks in the northeast end of my city, because a newspaper once posted a Quebec child molester map that contained past and present ones and that part of the city had the bulk of it >.<
gmail probably filters em out.
But but freedom of speech D:
Kidding aside, I guess it's a good thing seeing how easy it can be to impress or influence kids. But yeah I was still surprised
Talking about kids, it could be a real problem with 8 year olds or so. They see this really awesome pokemon pop up or something and they sneak out of their house to get it, not thinking of the danger, and then the parents get super worried.
Yeah that's a serious issue. What I noticed is that sometimes you can catch the pokemon from several feet away, but kids don't think about that trick all the time.

You must have a superior connection, because last time I played it (Thursday evening) I had to restart the app at least 30 times.
It requires a quantum CPU to run fine.

Wat.
I think he is refering to what will happen in the future with that game
@Streetwalrus . In fact it probably already happened. Find landmark in neighborhood highly populated by kids, wander around that landmark without being noticed, then play Pokékid Go instead of Pokémon Go. That's kinda scary to think about it. Had I gotten kids I would probably come with them if we were to play the game.
Heh, true. I hope it doesn't turn out that way. <_<
So far my experience with Pokemon GO has been AWESOME (glitches and server down time aside)
I first tried it out last Sunday, picked Charmander as my starter, went walking around my block and furthur. Caught a Pidgey, Spearow, Rattata, and Weedle. Went to 3 Pokestops (Fire Department A.K.A. Veterans of Foreign War Post 9592, Levittown Community Church, & the Levittown Water Tower (corner of Azalea Rd & Hilltop Rd)) Got to Level 3, started walking back home and noticed that apparently the area near the water tower is where you can catch Nidoran♀ & Kingler (I guess it thinks the town pool is a body of water or something).
As of today, the rest of the week was interesting. I noticed Monday that Gastly were available behind the building of my new job in Farmingdale. A few days later I tried searching the rest of the town, and noticed AdventureLand (an amusement park) is one of the Pokemon Gyms on Long Island. Encountered a few more gyms on the way home (nowhere near my house of course). Was able to catch new pokemon like Drowzee, Eevee, and Venonat. Over the weekend when I was at my gf's place in College Point Queens I tried it out, and apparently there's a lot more exotic pokemon in her area. Saturday night we went walking in the park near her apartment which not only has a nice view of Manhattan (the park is by the water), but it had 3 PokeStops and a Gym. Doduo is MASSIVELY common there, but I also was lucky enough to get a Jynx and Bulbasaur. Today heading home I was stuck on the Cross Island Parkway (always bumper-to-bumper traffic saturdays/sundays), so i opened up the app and not only did i catch a Tauros, but a Dratini too. Also Magikarp were everywhere by the water.
I'm having so much fun with this game. Right now I'm at level 7 and am using Charmander and Dratini for my main team. I plan on adding more to the team, but I have yet to find the ones i really want (like Poliwag, which is also by my gf's apartment but in the opposite direction).
I should go near St Lawrence river again at some point, but not over it, to see if I can find interesting Pokémons there. In Old Quebec it might be interesting too, with all the museums and stuff around.
By the way the app is now available in Canada. I thought it would end up like Spotify and everything else and that it would come out worldwide except in Canada and that Canada would have to wait 3 years due to CRTC BS.
Also I am unsure but it seems that the latest version loads much faster than the one I got before.
What team have you joined, trainers above level 5?
Are teams pre-defined by the game or do people create their own teams or guild?
There are 3 teams: Instinct, Mystic, and Valor or in everyday speech: Yellow, Blue and Red. What team you choose does not really matter much (yet).
I chose Mystic. Because articuno is bae.
I see. Also I heard people talking at a video game store half an hour ago and thry were saying they saw an older man playing Pokémon Go earlier and seemed to have fun. O.O

Wait were do you work? O.O Or do you mean 'colleagues ' as in people that attend college with you?
I think he works at a computer store or at the phone customer support of an ISP/TV company.
yeah, the latter. Besides I'm not that addicted anymore, I switched to Ingress :P
So I caught a Ghastly and Caterpie earlier. I also really need to find a way to setup the game to be in English without having to set my phone in English, because the French Pokémon names are annoyingly bad. I also made one of my many Weedle evolve, so now I have one Kakuna as well. I also got a bunch of Pidgey and one Pidgeyotto.
Back in the 90's, the Pokémon anime in Quebec was dubbed in Canadian French, but at least they left the English names intact. I wish they did Pokémon Go so that in French Canadian mode, names remained in English and in French from France, they were translated to French.
So if you check Pricecharting (which tracks down price of video games on Ebay and Amazon over time in United States), you'll notice a significant spike by about $10 for retro Pokémon games. From what I noticed, Pokémon Red, Blue, Yellow, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, Leaf green, Gold, Silver, SoulSilver, Heartgold, Crystal, Stadium 1 and the original Pinball game seems to be the most affected, with Stadium 2 and the newer games remaining largely unnafected. That's for a loose cartridge, so prices for sealed or CIB copies might have skyrocketed even more.
Among the newer games, only used copies of Pokémon Art Academy, along with the combo that includes both Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire seems to have been affected.
I got an Oddish earlier. :D
Also I finally caved in and changed my phone language to get rid of the France Pokémon names.
EDIT: OMG St-Roch Garden pond is a Pokémon haven. No wonder why so many people are sitting there and why servers are laggy here. And of course the marijuana smell :P
(http://i.imgur.com/d1WxouW.jpg)
Those last 4 Pokémons were all in the same spot in 5 minutes. The most recent isn't special though, other than being hard to catch.
Edit 20 minutes later
(http://i.imgur.com/Lz70cLp.png)
I blame the gaming store nearby, they're fans of Pokémon and they put lures all the time there.
Also my mom started playing on her tablet, she bought a data plan just for that and she started going to that place DJ mentioned at night, lol. Ironically, her two sons do not play and are a bit annoyed by that :P
Anyway, there's a PokéStop next to my place, so when she installed the game, she leveled up to a rather high level without ever leaving the place, lol.
Lol I am fairly sure that St-Roch will remain an haven for Pokémons for as long as the game is popular for that reason. I mean, downtown Québec is often frequented by teens and young adults, but also St Roch has several technology/video game companies/studios, as well as gaming-oriented places/people. So inevitably that big garden+pond thing is probably one of the best place to catch your non- :walrii: creatures. :P
Also yeah at home earlier I leveled up 3 times in a few minutes when I used some item to lure pokémons in and made one of them evolve. But my biggest loot was in St Roch Friday lol. It was just crazy (and at least the lag was bearable, unlike two weeks ago).
So over the weekend i learned that height and weight (as far as XL/XS goes) can change when you evolve a pokemon. For example, Friday I caught a Pidgey that was XL in both weight and height. I evolved it into a Pidgeotto, and all of a sudden it's weight became XS. Then i evolved it into a Pidgeot and neither the XL or XS appeared. Kind of a let-down, but at least now I can disregard those two factors and just focus on the pokemon's CP when making my team.
I still have my Dratini and Charmander... not too many "exotic" pokemon in the suburbs (at least in my area), and this summer heat has been dreadful, otherwise i'd be going to places and walking more.
I didn't know that. Thanks for the head up. Two days ago I was a bit worried that evolving a Pokémon resetted its stats too but it turned out that I did not check the Pokémon order properly at the time.
Also regarding hatching eggs, I run into this problem: http://kotaku.com/the-uncracked-secrets-of-pokemon-go-egg-hatching-1784339902
EDIT: Lol I just caught 3 Pidgey in 40 seconds

Lol, I did the contrary, I had my phone in English and wanted French names :P
Though I only used App Settings instead of changing the language on the whole phone.
It's just that I grew up with the English names in the 90's. Same with Dragon Ball mangas. Also I ran out of Pokéballs yesterfay so I had to check every Pokéstop along the road while riding the bus to Quebec. <_<
How did you change only the app language though? I can't find any option in THE GAME, at least not on Android.

Yeah, same for me. I have no idea what an "Oddish" is, I need French names :P
English doesn't bother me, otherwise I wouldn't have my phone in English.
Did you see my question in the previous post by the way? :P
I googled it a week ago and everything said I had to change the entire phone language >.<
I have the same issue on my Playstation 4 with Star Ocean. I don't like the French subs so I had to switch my console to English because there was no option in the game for subs.
No, I can't read it seems :P
I used App Settings, an Xposed module that allows to set entire-phone settings as per-app. Which doesn't make sense but I can tell you it works :P
Oh I see. Does it require rooting my phone?
Rooting I don't know. But it requires Xposed, which is "worse" from my point of view :P
I'll check it out in case. Also those damn eggs. As a fast walker they take forever to hatch because it seems the game registers my steps as running, which won't count.
I finally got my Beedrill :D
Question to those with fast phones: When you are at a pokéstop and spin it, does exiting the game then launching it again reset the cooldown period? I noticed earlier that when I used a pokéstop during dinner break then exited the game, a few minutes later I started the game again and the cooldown already ended, and I swear cooldown took much longer when I had the game open at any time in Quebec City a few weeks ago. I can't really check if restarting the game resets it, though, because my Nexus 5 takes so long to start the game and load my GPS location that it wouldn't make a significant difference anyway.
But that could be a fast way to farm for pokéballs when you're at a location that only has 1 pokéstop (the entire downtown district of my city only has 2 pokéstops total and they're over 2 miles apart)
I was going to say i have a fast phone but TIL the nexus 5 is not considered fast. I don't get it though, my n5 started the game in about 20 seconds and GPS doesn't take more than a few seconds?
The cooldown period is 5 minutes by the way.
For me it usually takes over 1-2 minutes depending of where I am and time of the day. At 6 PM in downtown Quebec City it usually never gets past the second loading screen if the place is crowded with players.
I caught a primeape 248 cp at level 5.
I jjst found this *.*

Nice, and I see you named them :D. I need to learn again which type is weak against what and start doing some battles at some point. What are the rewards for battles?
Also I will have to level up my pokémons a bit more because only one is above 600 points i think.

Yea I have a name for (almost) every pokemon, some of them relate to movies, tv-shows, & other videogames
Also here a type chart.
Thanks for the chart. I'll put it on my phone I think :)
On a side note it seems that Pokémons come in batches. I got three Jigglypuffs today and beforehand I only ever saw one a few weeks ago O.O
this is a totally unbased guess, but I know that there are 'cycles' in Ingress where stuff like scores get reset, maybe they have something similar in pokemon go where they reset pokemon spawns?
I heard that sometimes the Pokémons in an area will reset so that new ones can appear, to give the chance to more players to capture them, but I was surprised now because the Pokémons where I live almost never changed before.
Actually, is there in Pokémon Go all 721 Generation I-to-VI Pokémons ? :P
Nah, it only features 1st-gen pokémons, and even then, it doesn't have all 150. I checked my Pokédex and it goes from 1 to 131. I heard something about legendary pokémons, though, so I assume that those can't be caught through normal means?
It would be funny if it was easy to reskin Pokémon Go without risks of banning, so that we can replace all pokémons with :walrii: (flat models)
Based on other reports 1-151 pokemons are in pokemon go. from my experience pokedex goes at least till 149.
In my case it won't go past the 130's. Maybe I need to unlock stuff?
Also in Quebec there was a Pikachu earlier but I did not run into one myself. D:
Technically speaking, 146 out of the 151 are legit available. However, 4 of them are region locked
(http://images.eurogamer.net/2015/articles/1/8/4/5/2/7/8/14691828635.jpg/EG11/resize/600x-1/quality/80/format/jpg)
Ah I see. Are they locked to a specific city/neighborhood or on per continent basis?
As for the missing others I guess they're just rare or I need to be higher level to catch them. That game definitively has a lot of mysteries. Also there used to be a Pokéstop map somewhere but apparently it's gone. Now all we have are Google maps that only shows a few pokéstops that people bothered adding there.
EDIT By the way I found this Pokéstop map: http://149.210.140.41:8001/ Not sure if it's against Niantic rules, though, so I bet that will be shut down in the future, but it might be useful for those who wants to find Pokéstops or arenas near their home. EDIT: That didn't take long, but maybe it's just a private server and it got disconnected...
On TI-Planet Alvoko, who lives away from any town, was banned for having used a GPS bot on Pokémon Go :p
To be honest I am not surprised, but the fact Niantic can detect this scares me. Sometimes I stay put in one location, never move an inch, yet my character walks all over the place non-stop, sometimes over a mile away when internet or the game is laggy. I hope they don't count GPS tracking and Internet connection issues as location spoofing and ban me as well.
Heck, just to tell how unstable the GPS can get (I think it's worse on 3G), in one occasion I managed to hatch an egg without moving at all. It needed 100 meters to go.
Warning: Do not leave your phone on in your pocket to hatch your eggs while walking, even if the phone is upside down with battery saving. Most of the time it works, but in one occasion I went on a walk to hatch eggs that way, only to find out Youtube was playing 200 MB of videos over 3G.
@DJ Omnimaga : That private pokestop map i back online btw...
Also it's known the US made the GPS system never give you an accurte position on purpose since they want to prevent people from using it to guide misles and stuff... Maybe that's why you can hatch eggs without walking? :)
I live in Canada :P
then why dont you contact these guys and send them your pokestops, too, so it becomes a international map or something? :D
I checked and the pokéstops were already on their map. I think it fetches data directly from Ingress (both Pokémon Go and Ingress games use the same data), and apparently it's against the rules, which is probably why this map isn't always online. I bet they run it off their own computer and turn the computer off when they're sleeping or not at home.
NSFW, but somewhat funny front-page Imgur gallery:
http://imgur.com/gallery/kmgqu (http://imgur.com/gallery/kmgqu)
Lol, yeah with the ability to name your Pokémons, that was bound to happen.
You haven't seen some of the amazing but NSFW captures, though O.O , especially the Diglett ones
So Juju is friggin lucky. His appartment is right next to a pokéstop and it can be reached without leaving his home. If I had lived there I think I would have 350 pokéballs O.O
Also I have 2 more eggs about to hatch, but I bet they will be rattattas. <_<
somehow it sounds really strange to me that you got to walk for hours in order to hatch a Relaxo... <_<
Yeah true. I wish we just had to wait a long while and less of a while when near a boosted pokéstop.

@AmazoNKA. Very good idea. I'll download it later and find batteries to put it on my calc. Does it also contain a chart of which type is strong/weak against what? It might be handy so we don't have to check online all the time as a newer player.
You should make a separate topic in the calculator section with screenshots and the download link. :3=
(https://tg.lolis-in.space/file_55.jpg)
I finally got a Butterfree :D.
Also is it me or zubats are really freaking hard to catch? O.O
So last night I went out at Macfly again with
@Juju, but didn't play Pokémon Go as much as I usually do, trying to limit myself to using every Pokéstop on my way there (about 20). However, for some reasons the game did not want me to limit myself to that and flooded me with a cload of new pokémons to catch, as well as ones I didn't get in a while. Anyway, I got the following new creatures: Grimer, Cubone, Diglett, Mankey and Magneton. Also the grimer had 430 CP when I caught him. Anyway I still managed to keep battery high during the initial pokéstop run, although when I came back home it dropped a lot since I wanted to hatch my eggs.
What I think is if you're in public transit and are going to do a pokéstop run, minimize the app whenever you arrive in a neighborhood with no pokéstops, especially if you're not planning to catch pokémon right now.
Also another trick I noticed is that if when you throw the pokéball you throw it immediately instead of waiting a bit, it seems to be more effective ???
Lol, someone in my high school actually do have a Charmander spawner in his garden :P
Haha nice. I hope his place isn't constantly invaded by random people, though.
companies in germany already started to spend hundreds of dollars DAILY on these spawning things in their locations so they get much more customers. And still it seems to be rentable (even a pretty good deal) since there are so many people spending all day there now O.o

@p2 some do that here too. Good way to get extra young customers.
@aeTIos that sucks :(
as we all know, pokemon is getting more and more famous again since the release of Pokemon Go
Today I was at a anti TTIP/CETA demonstration in Germany and some guys prepared signs saying "Pikachu is against TTIP, too!".
They're really cute
Lol I like it XD. Also on a side note, Walriichu is not a GMO :P
should prepare a walrus-sign saying "Walruses Hate TTIP" for the next one
That could work. :D Just be sure to hide it if the protest becomes violent to not associate walrii with it lol.
xD No need to worry never been on a real violent protest so far  (Except if people throwing snowballs at a bunch of cops in their lovely riot armours is considered "violent") ^^
On a side note, I don't know if it's a glitch, but sometimes I end up with more than 350 items. I think that usually happens when I level up, though, but it was kinda weird. Also my inventory always gets full because I try to acquire as many pokéballs as possible for when I am away from a pokéstop for a while.
Also
@Juju is lucky because if he had played the game, then the baptist church next to his home is a pokéstop that is reachable from his home. :3=
So since school started, Pokémon Go popularity dropped drastically and I haven't seen anyone ouside playing the game ever since Summer vacations ended. Given that most people play outdoors, I wonder if Winter weather will be the final nail in the coffin for countries with cold Winter climates? I just can't see kids going outside in the snow in -15°C weather, with no glove to catch pokémon. That said I myself still play occasionally, although far less than I used to. I only have 1 indoor Pokéstop in my city and the only time I catch Pokémon when not riding the bus in downtown Quebec City is at home during certain periods of the day where rarer pokémons appear and at the shopping mall where I stock up in pokéballs.
yess noticed the same here. noone playing it anymore in germany
What I hope, though, is that they don't kill the servers for Pokémon Go this year. I'M willing to bet that with some promotion they would be able to revive the game if new stuff gets added. That said, it gets kinda boring if you mostly battle, apparently. That said, could this mean it's time to take over gyms?
I've found that people in my area have stopped playing it because of the amount of hacks released; there really is no point in playing it.
I didn't know there were hacks available. I knew about maps, but Niantic kept shutting them down. Also people talk about new features that are not liked. I opened the app and saw nothing new overall since the last month. What are the new features in particular?
throwing your phone in the air boosts up our bird-type pokemon's attack strength
Wait what? ??? Is it related to how, back in the days, shaking our phones did stuff? In any case, the only "hack" I ever considered using once was putting my phone on a turntable or something to hatch my eggs, but it wouldn't be worth the effort considering I once hatched a ratatta. <_<
The problem with Pokémon Go is that there isn't any objective and thus no replay value. Once all your friends stop playing, the hype dies down and there isn't really any point to continue.
I agree on that point. Beides collecting them all pokemon has no real objectives and gets boing and even frustrating (like collecting the same pokemon 50 times but still missing another one) in the old nintendo games you at least still had a story to fulfill but in Pokemon Go.... there's nothing for you to do :/
@DJ Omnimaga that was just a joke ;)

Depends. I played alone for a bit. One objective could be to catch all 150 pokémons or rack your level up, but it gets boring after a while, especially if you can't travel a lot. I think the game was created mainly as a free alternative to Pokémon to lure people towards the other games.
Personally, though, I never got much into the pocket games either. I wish they did another JRPG that was on consoles rather than handhelds, like with Gale of Darkness (which I still need to get, but it's expensive)
I like pocket games, but I'm sure that playing Pokémon GO isn't worth risking your life, safety, and/or virginity.

This is why Pokémon Go players should use common sense. But again, it still doesn't protect people from rapists hiding near pokéstops. That said, even in the latter case, there are tricks to avoid problems when playing. For example, avoid Pokéstops that are not popular and go to more crowded areas. Also if a pokéstop is hard to reach, then your life is more important than that pikachu. I play the game about once a week and used to play everytime I went to Quebec City, yet I never saw anything out of the ordinary. There was one car crash incident, though, near the North.
Is Pokemon Go still a thing? I expected it to die within two weeks of being released.

I expected it to last for the whole summer (due to people being bored) but same, I thought it would die quickly after that, especially since the updates had nothing interesting.
They also added notifications and ads, as in, the app will sometimes tell you tips outside the game and do push notifications about them to tell you, for example, that catching many pokemons of the same type will give you extra bonuses and stuff. >.<
ROFL have you seen this video? XD

Intense Pokémon Go battle in real life :P
The end is great ;D
but omg how much work do those people put into these videos? xD
but I'm amazed of the quality, it's really great!
Yeah I agree. Also Halloween event underway at Pokémon Go. More ghost Pokemons around and apparently bonus candies when walking with your buddy. I caught two Haunters already. I also now have a CP1000 Vaporeon :3=
I'm just annoyed that I can't play it any more because they blocked root.
Oh right, I forgot about that. That's a shame that companies can block rooted phones. Isn't there a way to circumvent that?
Not only they block root, they also block Cyanogenmod and SailfishOS as well.
There's Magisk (http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/09/11/guide-play-pokemon-go-0-37-rooted-android-magisk/) tho to play Pokemon Go and another alternative is to rename the su binary to something else.
(the latter will break your root apps)
It has become quite complicated to play Pokémon Go on a rooted device, yeah.
Can you easily rename the su binary back and forth safely?

Unforunely, no.
That being said, if he has a custom rom that allows you to disable root for all apps,
then he can use that.
That sucks then. In any case I am surprised they can detect rooted phones.

That is annoying. My phone is rooted. Not that I play pokemon go anyway.
Some companies insist on being (really annoying) with their rules. Like how netflix blocks proxies.
:banghead:
Well, to be fair, blocking proxies might be understandable but blocking rooted phone seems abusive. It's like if Nintendo or Niantic started banning Pokémon Go players for being muslim or Trump supporters. I just can't see how a rooted phone is an issue to both companies.
Anyway here's the ad

Did anyone notice a massive increase in Pokémon spawn rate lately? Since the Halloween changes, now about 5 Pokémons spawns at the same time upon game start where I live, whereas only one did before, if not none at all. Often I run into more rare pokémons too, rather than just Weedle and Ratattas.
I guess that'S their try to bind beople o they won't abandon PokemonGo now that the hype is over ^^
Actually I asked someone at work who happens to still play on a regular basis and the person said that she used to have many Pokémons at her place, while nowadays there is barely anything anymore. I suspect that Nyancatic decided to reset the spawn points.
hmm maybe the reworking of the spawn points that was long over-time (media wasnt very amused about smogons in jewish museums and pikachus on graveyards and highways...)
That could be it, although I doubt the company can update that many spawn points in such short periods of time, unless they only answered specific requests. Also the local shopping mall still has a spawn point titled as the fountain of the shopping mall even though it has been torn down months ago. :P
I guess they just took data from google maps or something like that to get position data on highways, graveyards, schools, ...
(I suspect thats how the points were set in the first wave, but without thinking about museums, graveyards, memorial places, ...)
Actually the points were set by Ingress players.
so they weren't set randomly or next to special locations...?
theeen there were some asshole players as there were arenas in the centers of seas and stuff like that... <_< (people actually went there by motorboat to fight the arena owner, story was in the (online) news)

there's still someone playing that game? xD I thought it died months ago... ^^
I still see boosted Pokéstops on a regular basis when i go at places. It's not what it used to be, though.
reminds me of omni... (https://codewalr.us/walrusirc/smileys/meh.gif)
around here the hype is long over, but it looks like lil kids 4th or 5th grade LOVE mario kart 7 right now... O.o
see them sitting around playing it everywhere ^^
Yeah I heard MK7 is still quite popular. I thought it wouldn't catch on because of MKDS, but I guess the fact Nintendo shut down online play on old DS games kinda forces kid to play MK7 now.
yeah they even prefer not sitting down in the trains if they can just be close enough to their friends to join the MK7 game... :P
A pidgey that I caught suddenly turned into a ditto yesterday ^.^ It was quite amazinggg!!
AND THERE'S A PIKACHU WALRUS RUNNING ON THE SCREEEN!!! ITS SO CUUUUTEEEEEE!!!!!!!
Wait, I didn't know that about Ditto. I guess it's a new incentive to catch many pidgeys then. There are many where I live. :P
Also lol yeah you found one of the CodeWalrus easter eggs :) (although over time the Walrus Pikachu on caffeine changed locations a few times, same for the other ones :P)
It seems like the game is picking up again over here. I saw a few people playing when it's sunny outside and some friends are still playing it seems and Nyan(ca)tic just announced some Gym updates and stuff. If the Jardin St-Roch thing has phone charging ports somewhere then I might go play this Summer when I have stuff to do there, or maybe at the Ferry not too far from home while biking.
At my friend's home two weeks ago I think we caught 5 Pokémons on my phone in just 10 minutes and where I live we no longer find anything.

Hmm. Maybe cause its summer and people are outside more?
Yeah they also did a lot of updates, though, to try to lure people back. And yeah, with school ending and Summer weather being in full effects it helps. I didn't really think the game would pick up again, though.
I just picked a Pikachu *.*
wow, you're seriously still playing this? :ninja:
I thought it was dead ages ago x.x
It revived this Summer. School and cold weather is what killed it at first.
