Wireless Messaging between two Ti-84 Calculators

I'm currently working on a project where I make two calc ti84+ wirelessly message each other using a 2x Arduino Uno and a 2x nrf24l01 module. i connected the calc to my arduino using a 2.5mm jack. i used the Articl library, and it seems to work for sending characters from Arduino to a calc. i have no idea how to receive it from the calc. my idea is to get the sending and recieving from the serial monitor and calc achieved. if that is working, then i replicate this on another TI84+ calc and then ...

TI calculator tribute video (84+CE games)

It has been a while since I posted anything calculator-related on my Youtube channel, so I decided to make a tribute video about TI-84 Plus CE and TI-83 Premium CE games and it's now available on Youtube. It misses some games I wanted to include because the animated screenshots were in a weird APNG or whatever format that is not compatible with most free video editor, but it includes over 9 minutes of gameplay: games can be downloaded on https://tip...

WARNING: Do NOT upgrade your TI-84 Plus CE to OS 5.5 and higher. It blocks ASM!

I saw this coming years ago as critor would say, but it is now a reality: Texas Instruments has decided to block ASM on the TI-83 Premium CE and TI-84 Plus CE.Looks like from now on ASM will have to be added via hacking or whatever, like on the Nspire. Hopefully it's not as difficult as with Ndless and hopefully there is a way to get the old games to run on the new OS. But this is bad news for TI development, especially considering most games are coming out on the CE.Source: ...

Play TI-83/84 Plus ASM games without a ROM

Tari from Cemetech has begun working on this TI-83+/84+ game emulator , Phoenix is supported, but it's still in early stages so I bet many more games will work in the future. Basically, this is a project by Tari from Cemetech, which allows you to play TI-83 Plus and TI-84 Plus games in your browser without requiring a ROM image or a copy of the TI-OS. This is very interesting, as this could allow the release of calculator games outside the TI community (...

Nspire CX timer hardware survey

While programming for my Nspire CX CAS CR4 I thought that either my calculator is weird, or the documented timer frequency for the watchdog timer isn't right.I also found out you can set the frequency of the other timers. But right now, this is only tested in my calculator. To help, you only need a Nspire CX and a stopwatch. I compiled a version of my project to test the timers and print out the result. You just have to follow the instructions on the screen and post the values.Instructions:Ma...

R.I.P pbfy0 (2000-2019) - Developper of nspire-z80, nVid & 2048 for TI-Nspire

I am saddened to announce that former TI-Nspire programmer, pbfy0 , has recently passed away at the age of 19 years old on December 25th 2019. Anybody considered making a Sega Master System/Game Gear emulator for the 84+CE?

I mean, think about it! Both the SMS and 84+ CE have similar CPUs, and if the 84 is powerful enough to emulate the GB, it really shouldn't be much of a problem. I honestly would LOVE to just be able to play STH and Alex Kidd on my calc, even if it's the inferior verisons.

Due to the whole LĂ©vis/Super C fiasco, I lost almost my entire calculator and video game collection last Spring and pretty much everything else, so all I had left were a TI-84 Plus C Silver Edition, TI-84 Plus CE and a Casio PRIZM I couldn't locate until today. Having trouble with TI Connect

So I was trying to use the TI Connect software with my TI-83+ and a link cable I just got on Amazon. This is my first time using a link cable, so I pulled up a Dummies guide and got the TICon program on my Mac (High Sierra, Version 10.13.4 if that helps). I then tried to use the TI Device Explorer. After a wait of 10-15 minutes (I haven't timed it precisely, this is just an estimate), an alert pops up. This is what is shown during the wait: ...

For years, various console emulators were available for the TI-Nspire: NESpire (Nintendo Entertainment System), gbc4nspire (Game Boy and Game Boy Color), gpSP-Nspire (Game Boy Advance) and more. Dead project history preservation (gameplay footage)

In the past, many programming projects died due to various factors and more often than not, none of their history was preserved (no source code, no demo, no screenshot left, etc). Because it's impossible to just ask people to take over someone else's project without requiring them to get used to a different style of programming (which often fails), I thought about a different idea that would not necessarily bring back those projects to life, but at least show their past existence. Sometimes, rel...

Does the amount of read and write operations on a calculator affect it in anyway?     Will writing a lot eventually deem it inoperable? ex: USBs after a certain amount of time start failing after so many writes.2. What is the "best" calculator? (I define "best" as what you personally prefer, and say why.)3. This one is specifically for you calculator hoarders. In 2010, Axe Parser revolutionarized TI-83 Plus and TI-84 Plus programming by bridging the gap between TI-BASIC and Z80 assembly, by providing an alternative to those two languages that allowed advanced graphics with the speed of assembly, but almost as easy to learn as TI-BASIC for people well versed into hi-level programming languages. Then color-screen TI-Z80 calculators came out. However, there was no sign of life from anyone regarding a future port of Axe Parser for those calculators. On th...

In the near future, Casio will release the Casio fx-CG50, the fx-CG10/20 successor. So those who don't have access to the safe-haven sub-forum are probably unaware of it, but several months ago, I stopped programming softwares entirely, with future game projects being 100% restricted to pre-made game engines such as RPG Maker 2003. The reason why is because since spending so much effort to write working code was never really my cup of tea, the only reason why I still made calculator games was because I loved designing them. There was a period of time where I regained interest i...
