I would like to know how to do tile mapping in Axe

I've looked around on the internet, but I haven't found a good source. There was one good one, but it was in French (http://sdz.tdct.org/sdz/l-axe-parser.html#Letilemapping), which I cannot understand. So could anyone provide me with a quick explanation of how it works or a translated version of the page above?
