*cough* make a video of running my particle system *cough cough*

I once considered making animations using it actually, but I didn't have any use yet. For avatar backgrounds it could be nice.

Also the problem when I make videos of your particle generator is that the mouse cursor remains in it >.<

I just tested, and I can run your particle simulator at a texture size of 4096^2, so 16777216 particles. It generally runs at 55-60 FPS, but sometimes dips down into the low 50, high 40s. Regardless, this thing has some serious horsepower. It also runs Battlefield 3 on ultra with 110-140 FPS :D

I'm curious about how well it would run Crysis 3 and modded Skyrim :P

Vijfhoek

I don't have BF4 installed at the moment, I can install it if you want.

DJ Omnimaga

I'm curious about how your respective GPU's could run graphics like the following video, but with a much larger map like outdoors in GTA 5 and Watchdogs?

Vijfhoek

If game developers would just get off their fat ass and start properly optimizing games and texturing them well, most likely (looking at you, Ubisoft)

Naaah, I have a gtx 850m, which is fine on most games but not the most expensive ones, like BF4 or Crysis.

Modded with lots of mods including the infinite view distance mod (renders the entire map) at 3fps.

And like 200 without infinite view mod.

Aren't Ubisoft the ones that shoves amazing textures in our face during E3, only to release a final product with much lower quality graphics in the end? Or maybe it was EA? I forgot.

All of them, don't you remember Sonic '06? The E3 showdown was prettier than the final result if we take off the glitches.

DJ Omnimaga

Ah ok I was always wondering lol. It's a shame that companies do this. I am curious if Nintendo does as well?

Oooh *excitement*. I have the 8350 and you need a decent cooler but its well worth it. It hardly gets over 20% load.

In other news I built my computer mentioned on the first page with possibly some differences. Here are the specs:
Processor: AMD FX-8350 4GHz 8 Core
CPU Cooler: Corsair H60 54.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Motherboard: MSI 970 GAMING ATX AM3+ Motherboard
Ram: 16GB Corsair Vengeance 1866MHz DDR3
Storage: Western Digital Blue 1TB 7200 RPM HDD
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 970 4GB STRIX Video Card
Case: Thermaltake Urban S31 Window ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: Corsair CX 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

Also I'm considering getting a laptop but not until I get a ti 84 plus ce and an HP prime.

Wait did you buy two graphic cards? Is it because you have two monitors or are you planning to use them on different computers?

EDIT: Wait nevermind, I am stupid. The first is a computer, not a graphic card :P. Are those higher end?
