How to unblock our ads in AdBlock in one easy way

(You'll need AdBlock, uBlock or compatible installed, obviously.)

Additionally, this will also unblock Project Wonderful ads on other websites such as MS Paint Adventures/Homestuck (they also use Google Ads so they should still be blocked). If you don't want that, you only have to click on this button on your toolbar to easily unblock codewalr.us instead. Useful if you only want to unblock our ad at the top while still blocking whatever malicious thing that would probably creep out from the Facebook/Twitter like buttons.

While we're at it, I also filed a request to AdBlock to add us on their Acceptable Ads thing. Because why not. Again, they have a check somewhere to disable that, but that would mean our ads are enabled by default for AdBlock users.

Good news and bad news!

Good news: we've been accepted in AdBlock Plus' Acceptable Ads Initiative, which means AdBlock Plus users should see our ads by default (unless they opted out) and we should see an increase in the Project Wonderful stats. They said a response time of about 10 days IIRC, the fact I sent the request around Christmas probably didn't helped.

Bad news: The AdBlock Plus guy who reviewed our site told me he lost the game. I fail to see how it's a bad news xD

Hm I sense that Adblock Plus users might not like that much but our ads aren't that intrusive and are often relevant and more community-oriented, so I guess it should be fine. Good that they got accepted too. Just make sure to keep an eye on questionable ads (eg that A* ad with the half-naked girl was questionable so if it gets worse then you might want to set ads on admin approval and give us the password to staff).

I wonder if this also means that our Google Analytic scripts will be unblocked by default?

That's the point, they have some rules on what is acceptable or not, and ours perfectly fits. Well, I had to disable animated ads, but other than that, it's acceptable. There's a safe for work rating, if ads goes past that, I guess we can complain somewhere.

Probably not. You might want to add my email on the Google Analytics thing, though.

Yes, I can always ban them. Project Wonderful probably have something in place for those who inappropriately rate their ads as well.
