I bet DJ can fap to that !

As far retro consoles go, i was always impressed how good Battlezone looked for an Atari 2600 game :

To be honest, I was never a big fan of early Ys graphics except maybe the Sega Genesis and Turbografx 16 versions of Ys III. It's more the gameplay overall that I was a big fan of and the first NES game gameplay wasn't necessarily the best.

That said it's not that bad either and they at least added details in the bushes or the sides of the river, unlike certain other games (*glares at Zelda II world map*).

As for the best graphics I have ever seen, I would say Forza Horizon 3 so far. If we go for SNES, I would say Final Fantasy VI. And for Atari 2600 I agree with @gameblabla , although in my case Battlezone would come second, behind Solaris:

It totally looks like some NES and Sega Master System games. Title Match Pro Wrestling isn't too far behind (it also looks like some early NES games)

The cutest graphics I've ever seen was probably this one from 1994 called "Mother 2"
I just love how much work they put into making it look bright and colorfull :)

Actually,  the second screenshot is not Earthbound for the SuperNES, its Mother 4, the unofficial sequel to Mother 3 programmed in C# made by fans.

Earthbound always looked cool, although back then my favorite on the SNES was Final Fantasy VI.

Also I didn't know there was still a Nintendo fan game out there after the pile of DMCA takedown notices Nintendo sent everywhere. I should check Mother 4 out, though. I still wish Mother 3 came out on the Nintendo 64. I remember the previews in Nintendo Power and went apec at it, happy that the N64 would finally get a proper RPG, only to see it canceled.

Strange thing about mother4:
