Worked great! Game was smooth and speedy. Icon's cool, but when the WARNING message comes up, the background just scrolls and there's no more action.

I can see the awkwardness of such a device...

That's super neat! Sounds like fun. Too bad you can't see yourself. I think I'd be nicer if there was an awesome monster sprite in the circle.

November 04, 2016, 12:31:32 AMQuote from: gameblabla on November 02, 2016, 06:43:47 AMMy PC is from 2008...QuoteSomething I am curious about is what are the minimum system requirements. For example, would the game run on @Jkolade936 PC from 1989?Matref's version has much higher requirements, despite it being based on the Ti-Nspire port.
That's because software rendering on SDL2 is very slow... much slower than its predecessor, SDL 1.2.
Even a GCW0 with its 1Ghz MIPS32r2 cpu cannot run this game smoothly...
So yeah, it requires at least a Pentium III 1.4Ghz and a decent GPU.
Speaking of which, i spent 4 days trying to switch to textures.
The game runs much faster (1600 Fps versus 300 Fps) and rotations also look nicer now.
Here's my fork :And here is matref's version using the software renderer :Spoiler
Spoiler
Unfortunely, i couldn't implement everything and i have encountered lots of bugs so i had to introduce lots of ugly hacks.
The font looks different, the background's scrolling is different, enemies flashes black (due to SDL's blending support not working properly)
and the rotations are not quite accurate...
This version should work on better on older pcs with a somewhat ok gpu tho.
Here are the download links (i fixed the Linux version too btw) :
https://gameblabla.nl/files/nkaruga/nKaruga-xenial-amd64.deb
https://gameblabla.nl/files/nkaruga/nKaruga-windows-x86.zip
But I have a Pentium Dual Core, and my graphics are permanently Open GL 1.1.
I'll try it from Linux.

So you mean that if I had kept Lubuntu, I could have just put on another DE and not wasted all this time?

Re-Loader by R@in is not for pirating; It is a method to activate backup builds of Windows. I am using it until I can get to my cousin's house to borrow their Windows 10 purchased copy.

Vine's shutting down? This is great news! Now people won't run around referencing stupid viral Vines like "What's 9+10" and "What're those?!?"! Also, it means that my UK dwelling 9 year old cousin might stop swearing because he watches too many Vines.

I had Mint 32bit. Google Chrome dropped 32bit support for all Linux systems earlier this year.

October 30, 2016, 03:21:08 AMQuote from: gameblabla on October 29, 2016, 01:22:56 AMI do like Apple. Elementary OS looks quite interesting, though it bugs me that it will have the same compatibility as Linux.
If you like Apple (in a homo way, yum), something like Elemenatary OS might be of interest.
You can even go ahead and install Android-x86 on your computer !
But in the end, i do not know your expections or what you even like.
You'll have to give away some more info man.
And I might also try Android-x86, but I'm afraid that most features and apps won't work due to my terrible graphics.
Quote from: gameblabla on October 29, 2016, 01:22:56 AMNone of the things I tried to install actually installed, and I hated that I had to request root permission for the even simplest of actions, and use my long(but secure) password for every little thing. But if I get Elementary OS, maybe I'll try Padoka.
If you don't like Lubuntu because it does not have a lot of apps installed,
you can install some new ones either via the command (apt-get install) or via the Lubuntu Software Center.
You can also add ppa to your PC, the most famous one is probably Padoka's PPA,
which allows you to get the latest improvements in graphical drivers. (thanks mesa)
For example, you can add Padoka's ppa like so from a terminal emulator (you will use it a lot on Ubuntu) :Code Select
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:paulo-miguel-dias/mesa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
Hating Lubuntu and Linux Mint might also have something to do w/ me hating Firefox and not being able to install Chrome...
Quote from: Hayleia on October 29, 2016, 07:49:08 AMYeah, I thought it looked bad too. So I tried to make it look like Mac OS X. When that failed because Macbuntu wouldn't download, I threw it in the trash.
The only thing I disliked with Lubuntu was that it was fugly by default (though the default look for LXDE when installed "by hand" is far far worse...). But it's highly customizable, unlike Ubuntu's Unity
What I would advise you is to try other DEs on your Lubuntu right now, then it will become bloated yeah but whatever, you'll reinstall a fresh Linux with the one DE you like most.
As a personal preference, I like GNOME
Quote from: Hayleia on October 29, 2016, 07:49:08 AMYa I'm quite stupid at times.Quote from: Dudeman313 on October 28, 2016, 10:16:37 PMWut? Do you know that Lubuntu is both of these?
It turns out that I hate Lubuntu. I feel so restricted!
Any suggestions on a replacement? Linux? Ubuntu?
Quote from: utz on October 29, 2016, 09:25:45 AMI honesty have no clue what you just said.
If you don't like lxde, try a distro with an xfce desktop (Debian+xfce for example, or Xubuntu if you absolutely want to stick with Canonical).
