Tech, Science & IT / Re: Ryzen is out!

I have a 3770k and an HD 7970 and the GPU is clearly the bottleneck for me in most games. Granted, by now it's slower than a GTX 1060 or and RX470, but it's still a really really good GPU.

Yeah but that also applies the other way around. And a lot of people have other workloads than gaming like video editing and hardcore android compiling (me_irl). I don't really feel a compelling need to upgrade my gpu right now, but I do have a top of the line 2012 card. On the other hand, if I'm interested in speeding up my builds and just having an awesome PC in general. :P

Hehe you'll never know. >:D

Yeah it's specific to Safari. Android devices use the exact same engine as desktops, at least in Chrome.
#53
Chrome for iOS is basically Safari. Apple does not allow browsers to ship their own engine on the appstore.
Also DJ, that has nothing to do with the mobile theme which was purely CSS. :P

Gaming / Re: A Minecraft in-game computer (Sorta)

The game itself isn't Turing complete, but the fact that you could make it proves that Minecraft itself is Turing complete. ;)

@xMarminq_, I don't want to discourage you in any way, but are you implementing an actual CPU with Redstone, or are you hardocding functions? Either way is cool, but the former would be a lot more impressive, even following a tutorial. :)

Neato. Reminds me of the same thing, but with pi. I suppose you were strongly influenced by that. :P
#59
Yeah, posts in the randomness section don't count. I've looked through your posts, and even though they're fine it would help if they were a liiiiittle bit more constructive. :P

Oh wow, I must have missed this. I remember @Keoni29 made something similar and built it into his 84+ way back in 2012-13. That was a pretty good idea actually, since it frees the CPU to run an actual game together with audio.
Pretty much like old consoles did. Nowadays the DSP functions are integrated into the CPU itself with SIMD instructions, but that wasn't an option and even early 2000's consoles used a dedicated DSP for mixing and playback.
