Title: Pier Solar and the Great Architect
Post by: DJ Omnimaga on February 28, 2015, 04:36:07 pm
I was wondering if anyone got Pier Solar or played it before?

It's a Sega Genesis/Mega Drive RPG that got released in limited quantities in 2010, then reprinted in 2011 and 2015. I have a copy being shipped right now two years after pre-ordering it. They do not produce copies until enough pre-orders are made but since people canceled their pre-orders due to the long wait there will most likely be some extra copies left after they processed all the remaining orders.

The game also works on the Sega CD. You just got to put the CD in the add-on then Pier Solar will automatically behave like a Sega CD game. There is also a Sega Dreamcast version coming out at a later date and digital and HD versions of the game came out for various platforms such as the Wii U and Steam.

Here is the official URL btw:  http://www.magicalgamefactory.com/en/factory/pier-solar_1/

I personally wanted the Sega Genesis version, though, because I thought it was amazing that people still made actual cartridge-based games for that console. They also released a visual novel called Sacred Line for that console: http://www.magicalgamefactory.com/en/ and are working on a SNES and Sega Genesis project (the latter being a beat-em-up).

Also it's a shame that almost every video on Youtube uses the Sega CD audio. While it's much better quality, I wish that more attention was given to the chiptunes soundtrack as well.

On a side note I wonder if WM is still free shipping?
