I noticed I actually like drawing sprites and they dont look too bad so I'm gonna share them with you :)
If you want to, feel free to use any of my sprites for whatever purpose ^^

I dont know much about licencing so Im just telling you: It would be nice if you put my name (just 'p2') in the credits (dont have to, its optional) and if you make any money using them, you got to buy me cookies (no way around that!)

*I'm drawing new ones almost every day so I'm also going to edit this post every time and include the new sprits so you won't have to scroll through a thousand posts to find what you're looking for ^^

p2. how did you get the tiles to slot into the 17x17 holes? is it a custom editor or did you draw the black lines by hand??

I did everything by hand xD
I'm not using a special tool, doing it all by hand:

Detailed: ShowHide

At first I draw the little picture using multiple layers:

Then I use the "chess" layer to see the single 16x16 parts and copy each of them:

Then I take a background picture just like this one:

And copy/paste the stuff on different layers:

Then I already have the pic I upload later.
But to create a demo I then take another background with a chess field on it and copy/paste the parts again:

not all buildings are industrial complexes but all industrial complexes are buildings...
and since buildings and houses are somehow the same... ^^

But I admit: It was ment as a industrial complex for kotu's game (which reminds me I forgot about the weapons factory...) ^^

Wow that looks cool actually. :O I wonder if I could use it in my game if I ever have enough space left? :P I would need to reduce the color depth of course, though. :3=

(I dont really care if only 1 out of 20 pics will be used it's just that I'm bored and dont know what to draw) xD

Don't worry, I should be fine regardless of the palette. :) I can use 35 colors at once per sprite but I usually use much less, to avoid having to specify one palette per sprite.

By the way @kotu is it me or you have restricted Internet access? When I was in hi school and college several years ago I was never online during weekends nor vacations and I noticed you are never online on Fridays and Saturdays. ???

Anyway I made a 4-color statue that fits in two 24x24 tiles:

maybe put a few of them at both sides of a path leading to a big walrus temple... with the bigger statue in it and some super rare Walriis to catch like the refrigerator walrii ^.^

Yeah that's what I thought. Also for ice temples I could make the statues blue or something. Also the refrigerator Walrii isn't in this game because it's from the 2nd generation. :P

Another idea could be to use the statues for temples where you get badges or something after beating a super boss.

And I haven't made much progress with the game lol.... progress might indeed be slow as quite a lot needs to be done and I not always in the mood for programming and stuff... gonna work on the game tutorial section first I think

Yess, it's a hologram walrii telling you about the story of the game ;)
these "lines" are semi-transparent white lines so it looks like it's glowing and the rest of it got a little transparency, too (different for each frame) :)

There is already an hologram Walrii but I like the effect in yours. In the game it will look more like an hologram than a ghost :)

yess I had troubles with the original hologram walrii since it didn't really look like a hologram in bright daylight ^^
(But got to admit mine uses the colorset of the original hologram xD

Yeah mine was more noticeable when it appeared in front of other objects. Then you could see the objects through it.

Actually I'm currently redrawing most of my tiles for PocketWalrus (lets just stick to this name for now until I find a better one) as everything was too small xD
That means you could probably use my house tiles, too, DJ, as I'll redraw them twice the size :)

Also for the houses @p2 I could use them, although it depends if they fit my style well for the game. I might go with caverns too.

From what i gather, your talking about pokewalrus? From what i have seen, your using art from many sources, so you might want to make sure the different pixel art drawings fit together style-wise :)

yess, lots of stuff to do, but I'll update this topic as soon as I have all the houses redrawn in higher quality :)
also I plan on adding more different kinds of houses (decicion was made when watching the city in @Sorunome  Reuben3 ^^

I now have the high quality houses (only the red roofed ones are HQ yet) as well as a number of other random stuff needed in my game as well as a small demo pic.

can you maybe provide an example of how you imagine it?
I did my houses pretty much similar to the ones in Pokemon and Reuben3...

btw I'm no way near done yet in drawing houses... I still have to create the differently colored versions of all house tiles

The Walrii doesn't seem to fit with the game  :-\
I would suggest  putting more detail into the walrii or simplifying the background.

I thought a lot about making the edges in darker grey instead of black so it fits better into the rest of the game, but I also didnt want to do it because it would mean not useing the original *one and only* walrii :'(

I'm honestly not sure if @DJ Omnimaga as well as all the others listening to the words of the Walrii could ever forgive me, if I did that... :'(
Afterall this entire game is a tribute to the one and only walrus <_<

I personally think the :walrii: fits well. In most SNES games, the characters have more visible outlines and also slightly different art. That way, they stand out from the rest and sprites are easier to distinguish from static map elements.

Ayy, this is awesome!
The HD ones look really good, I definitely prefer them over the older ones (no offense).
It feels very aesthetically pleasing to the eyes.
