Did you know I do music sometimes? Well now you know. Mostly bad Vocaloid covers.
This time, I saw someone on some Undertale group who liked an edit of the music video for Bad Apple!! and decided to translate it in French, and I was like, yeah, let's do a cover so, after fighting with Reaper and Alter/Ego (which is some sort of VST like Vocaloid but it works slightly differently), heres my version of Bad Apple!! with ALYS.
I should really check Alter/Ego, since it seems to be able to do French and also seems free. Anyway I listened to your Bad Apple cover and I think with some equalizing the voice would fit even better. But I guess that can be hard with Vocaloid-like voice.
Yeah that software is kinda hard to use at first (once you get the hang of it it gets better though), the demo doesn't allow you to save settings and it crashed a lot with some lyrics that I didn't really bother with the details. Maybe next time.
Alter/Ego is free (as in, well, gratis), but ALYS is not, but it's one of those demos it allows you to do everything except saving the settings.
Weird about the crashes. I hope it's not compatibility/stability-related. I might definitively give the software a try at some point. And thanks for clarifying about which software is free or not.
Speaking of which, I uploaded 2 of my covers on YouTube:
(now with music video with subs!)
(thanks new WAV exporter in PICO-8 0.1.8)
Nice, I didn't know that PICO-8 let you export music. Also I wonder how good one of my songs would sound like with the other PICO-8 instruments.
Yeah, it's rather new, 0.1.8 came out today.
Oh, I read this as 8.0.1, for some reasons, because the 8 turned into a smiley :3=
Hey, another cover! I'm on a roll!
That was great, although the generated voice at the beginning was kinda weird :P. I also like the guitar.
One of my favourite songs I remade with Miku.
French version of the above song, with ALYS!
Nice, I like it :)
Really like them
And I love the video of the "Bad Apple" :D
Isn't there even someone here having the part from 12:59-3:02 as avatar? ^^
At first I was scared I couldn't distinguish any lyrics at all, but then I realized I clicked the French version instead of the ENglish one when I discovered it sounded French. Anyway nice work at making Miku sing French that can be somewhat understood. Also nice song :)
I like the English version as well
Because that French version wasn't Miku, but ALYS. Which is not a Vocaloid. Same one as the two other covers of Bad Apple and Ton Avion.
Oh I see, that might explain why the sound was a bit different.
listened to a few tracks so far... nice... :)
vocaloids sound cool i haven't used one before
this is cute @Juju
did you write the lyrics?
No, it's just a cover of this one.
what happened next? D: Was there still enough time to undo the spell? :'(
Well, in short, it was just yet another parody of Charles d***ens' A Christmas Tale, but with Starlight as Scrooge and Luna as the spirit of Christmases yet to come. Then Starlight realizes Christmas is fun and finally brings herself to the party.
Miku makes the song sound more cute
THERE'S A MUSIC VIDEO THIS TIME :D
Oooh I like. I assume you added the Miku voiceover?. You should really try to EQ the voice, though
Still no Miku here, but yeah, I did the voiceover and the 8-bit track from some MIDI file I have from a friend. I'm getting slightly better at EQ and volume control, but it's still not perfect.
Ah I thought it was Miku because she was in the vid. EQ is very hard x.x
That's not Miku, that's ALYS. Kinda not the same thing. Well, the main difference is that she can sing in French. :P
(also her maker commented on my vid haaa)
Ah ok. Both have similar cloth and hair colors but ALYS seems darker. But they were located at the top of the video so I thought it was the contrast from the title bar darkening the hair. I have troubles distinguishing them from each others lol.
Now I tried to make Miku sing in French for a friend's birthday. Song is Gens du pays by Gilles Vigneault, which is often used here as a replacement for the Happy Birthday song (which was the object of numerous lawsuits and we're still not sure it's still under copyright) and also doubles as Québec's unofficial national anthem.
Might release a full version later.
Aw when you said you finally made your own song I really thought you meant a totally 100% original song from you D:. It's ok, though :P I actually like how it came out. Most French Miku songs are usually undechiperable but this one is very easy to understand

That's another unrelated project. Just wanted to do this one in time for his birthday. Anyway, thanks!
Aaah ok. I am curious now ^^
I was bored.
Got some time to finish this one, You're In My Head Like a Catchy Song. Pretty catchy love story.
Working on a new Vocaloid cover. It's not this one. But it has twice as much ponies.
(For the record, I made it with a French voice and I made absolutely no effort to hide the French accent.)
New song! I'm on a roll!
New song! It's a cover of My Little Pony: The Movie's Open Up Your Eyes, but in Canadian French. (Not to be confused with France French, it's not the same lyrics.)
I am listening to it right now and I like it :3=
Welp, another cover, but this time it's a popular boys band from the early 90s whose main singer died about two months ago. I like this song and I definitely like how it came out.
Heard this one yesterday and I love the result :D
Also it's kinda cool with the cartoon they did.
Idk the original artist but I like that song :>
As you people may know Juju helped me with the vocaloid for this track -> https://futurerave.uk/link_audio.php?file=release/the_pill_song.mp3 (https://futurerave.uk/link_audio.php?file=release/the_pill_song.mp3)
What do you say to another collab @Juju
I have some proper lyrics (ie. not about slow worms)
