Is anyone planning to buy the new SNES Classic? Personally I am reluctant, especially that the Sega Genesis re-release will have a cartridge slot and not the SNES Classic, but it comes with 21 games and even Star Fox 2 is included. I wonder if they'll make more than 300 copies this time around...
I feel like your production estimate is a little high.
You can always buy them on ebay after launch for 9001% of the launch price?
Haha. I hate f***king scalpers SO much >:(. Trying to make a quick buck off us.

There are already people on Ebay charging $300 to pre-order it <_<. They'll probably either run away with your money or buy the consoles in bulk at stores that don't limit quantities and then resell all but one of them.
Or sell fake 3D printed+raspberry pi based ones instead.

Good luck trying to get an SNES classic when there's guys like this.
Did anyone here manage to purchase an NES Classic (at MSRP)?
Haha good one.
In all seriousness, those things got really expensive Christmastime
I could have got one here, my friend did - but lots missed out.'
They are like pure gold for Nintendo though.
What would be funny is if this time someone bought the console in bulk, then Nintendo decided to make 10 million more copies, causinf reselleer prices to go down
EDIT Apparently it's already sold out

But again it might be a hoax (being sold out, that is).
"He can see clearly now.... he go his barky on!!!!" :):):)
As long as a final version of starfox 2 is dumped from it I am good, I will just play it on my mac.
I want one but am not too excited to fail at getting one.
Over here even EB Games don't take pre-orders
I think I'll keep my raspberry pi which has more possibilities...

This. All we need is someone to dump the memory of this thing, upload it to a possibly-illicit website for downloading such things, and those of us who wish to download are good.
Was the NES Mini ever utilised to play other roms?
Yes, as far as I know, but it was pretty much a hack.
It sucks that Nintendo purposely undersold the NES Mini so much, I almost thought the OP was gonna have a link to a news article with the same title.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Sorry, but Québec are humiliating themselves by overprotecting the French language, while they are in an English speaking country, talk a weird French, and... are not even France :P
Well, I'm a Quebecer and yes, they're overprotecting the French language. Yes, we've been English subjects since 1763, and everyone always feared they would assimilate us, or even worse, assimilating ourselves. There's the OQLF, the French language office, to make sure our dialect of French is still a thing, to encourage correct use of it and discourage loan words from English as the French population of Montréal is shrinking with all these immigrants.
So yeah, it's taken real seriously cause we're a small French population surrounded by a huge English population.
Sure, but it always seemed weird to m that they were even more serious about the language than the "original" French themselves. And to be honest, they take it often too far :P (Horrible movie titles I'm looking at you)
I think someone at the Office de la Langue Française had a power trip or bureaucracy has struck again
In any case they were probably gonna ship just 15 SNES Classic to Canada anyway
Why can Nintendo make more though? It doesn't seem fair that so little are being made...
My guess is that it isn't supposed to be a mass-produces console, only a nice one-time product, like a special gift or something. Plus they have to produce more and more Switches.
Yeah they want to focus their efforts on the Switch.
Good news, both Toys R Us (just before going bankrupt) and Nintendo (through their RP in Québec) confirmed the SNES Classic is going to be available in Québec.
Yeah I was happy to see that. It was a stupid decision to not sell it in Quebec in the first place. I bet EB Games will have some if Toys R us goes under before the holiday shopping season.
