Today the 19th of December 2015 Codewalr.us reached 400 members (-_(//));! I joined the community when CW was just starting and started posting a few months later. If it wasn't for CW I know I wouldn't be here typing this and I wanted to thank the staff here for making everyone feel welcomed ;). Let the walrus fly some more!
EDIT: and we passed 28000 posts O.O
Oh really? That's cool :D
Yeah, I can't wait to see where we will be in dec of 2016!
2016 will be interesting. That's the year where we will see if the 84+CE is taking off like the CSE did and also we will have restructured a bit to look less calc-centric.
However, our 400 members count is kinda misleading, because most zero-post users are probably spambots that bypassed our spam filters, but failed to post. Other forums had the same thing happening (sometimes more if they had popular tools that required an account). What is more relevant is how many people are posting each day.
Yeah, you see allot of 0 post accounts here https://codewalr.us/index.php?action=mlist but some people just make accounts so they can access certain things. Like on thingiverse I only have an account so I can use the customizer :P. But most are spambots <_<.
Yeah, on Cemetech, SourceCoder 1 and 2 required an account to edit code, although version 3 doesn't IIRC. And on TI-Planet you need an account to use the very popular school document generator. Also, when calc sites become very popular in terms of traffic (eg ranked first in Google), they also get a lot of members who joins to ask questions, but never come back afterward, so they have a lot more 1-5 posts accounts.

Yeah, I only have 6 posts on Omni :P and I made a cemtech account for source coder too, and when I was using the Nspire I made and account for the things on ti-planet. I am really only active here xD
We now have 2 million page views. It seems like I missed the first one. I am curious about how many requests we got on CW server, though.
Also what is your nick on Omni?
2 Million O.O Thats quite a lot
Not much considering that's what Omni got in a month once. :P
my nick is the same as on Omni. But I joined to ask Axe questions and that was after you left.
Ah ok, because I couldn't find your account there. :P
EDIT: Oops wrong topic meant to put it in post/coding milestones. Not exactly sure how to delete a post(cause now the post on the other milestone topic isn't my 175th post :(); I would if i could.
Awesome! and wow O.O 1600 downloads! congrats!!!
EDIT: and we have 404 users as of 12/31/2015

Wait, who got 1600 downloads? I am confused ??? (Congrats to who did, though)
Also CW reached 30K posts yesterday.
I was probably tired and referring to another topic or just thinking about nonsence xD
and YAY 30k posts ^.^ :w00t:
Cool to see that CW is so famous, with its 438 members, you literraly destroy TI-Planet and its 54708 users
/me runs
/me puts a -1 to STV and bans him
/me promotes STV to the rank of "Admin-in-chief"
I know, now I'm really a professiuonal troll :p
Lol, well Ti-Planet are one of our affiliates and they were around a lot longer :P

Lol you :P Keep in mind that if we exclude all bots or spam accounts that never posted, then CW probably has under 200 users and TI-Planet 30000, though. Plus TI-Planet has various features like mViewer and document generators that requires an account to access all features. Still nice, though. I wonder if CW will ever hit 100K posts? :walrii:

At this rate, it would take 964 days(unless activity increases)
Yeah it depends really. If you look at TI-Story stats, busy forums generally hover between 15 and 40K a year but there can be some rare anomalies like yAronet in 2002-04 or Omnimaga/Cemetech in 2010-11 where activity suddenly skyrockets to insane proportions. Plus Google ranking and stuff like that can play a big role in how many people joins to ask for calculator help.
That reminds me, I still need to get help or find a way to implement cookie-based Recent Posts list sorting at some point, so for example people can display recent activity from only specific fields of interests (if they don't want the list to be cluttered with off-topic stuff or media talk, for instance)
CodeWalrus has finally reached 40,000 posts earlier! Thanks for the support :3=
Site opening: November 11th 2014
10000 posts: April 2015
20000: August 7th (and 12th 2015 due to data loss)
30000: January 17th 2016
40000: June 11th 2016
:w00t: go CW!
Yay! :walrii:

Wow! It feels so cool to be... 206 of those posts!
...

oh...
thats actually pretty insignificant.
Wow thats a lot of posts.
Post more! Soon you'll have a signifiant number of posts like DJ!
I... I don't think that is possible...

EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE
...I think?
Anything is possible. At Zombo.com.
Don't make me bring up Shia Leboeuf quotes :P
ANyway that 0.5% of posts, when multiplied by 50 members, is 10,000 posts, and another 10K might not have happened without your contributions, so that's not 200 for nothing. I hope eventually you regain interest in coding PC/non-PC or even calc games :)
DJ, I will never, ever stop programming. Ever.
It's just sometimes I take... "extended breaks" :)
Yeah I can understand. If you are coding right now then you should let us know about your projects, though. :)
But yeah, I once took a 2.5 years long break from programming... O.O (from July 2010 to December 2012). What triggered my interest again is when TI announced color Z80 calcs.
Not really a CodeWalrus milestone, but still related one due to our origins, but Omnimaga just reached 400,000 posts. No calc forum have even done this before.

Not sure if this is accurate... but...

This effectivly means that the top 4 posters make up for 50% of posts :P
That's a whole lotta other. O.O
lol.
That makes me feel special to be part of that top 4 :P
Actually that looks more like 75% o.o
Edit: Oh wait, I included "Other" by accident.

Here's the current statistics:
Still the top 4 posters together make about 50% of the posts.
Without DJ, it would take the top 20...

Jep ^^
I should check how my percentage of the CW total posts and monthly activity compares with the rest of the forums at some point. :3=
EDIT: It also looks like whoever posted before this post made the 20000th CW post of the year.
