See topic title. Anyone tried this software before? I think this will be my main music DAW when I have limited computer access now, with Fake SID being second. I'm sticking with MTV Music Generator/Music 2000 for 90's style music, though.

Oh I had that program, it looks very cool! I never used it cause I'm not a maker of music though.

I just found out last night that there is a PC version as well that works under WINE. However, it works identically as the Android version, so no proper CTRL+C/V shortcut or similar keybindings. It works fine, though, despite being unsupported, and can even use the same music files as the Android version. Pretty convenient if you wanna use both versions.

So far I made quite a few songs using Caustic software of many genres and here they are from first to most recent:

https://djomnimaga.bandcamp.com/track/moon-knight-2019 (UK Hardcore)
https://djomnimaga.bandcamp.com/track/lost-decade-room-k-4125-mix (Sega Genesis-inspired song)
https://djomnimaga.bandcamp.com/track/califourchon (Trance)
https://djomnimaga.bandcamp.com/track/ears-of-sarosto (Power metal-ish/game soundtrack)
https://djomnimaga.bandcamp.com/track/ears-of-sarosto-alternate-mix (same)
https://djomnimaga.bandcamp.com/track/dont-let-him-laugh (Power metal)
https://djomnimaga.bandcamp.com/track/lost-decade (Power metal)

Fun fact: I tried to inspire myself from my older songs despite the instruments sounding different. For example, the last version of Lost Decade, which acts as the main one, is heavily inspired from Quest from the Legendary Axe and Moon Knight 2019 is heavily inspired from my 2009-2014 UK hardcore material.

That was quick! The ones I've heard so far sound good!

Some weird song I made (more techno-style than my usual melodic songs) https://djomnimaga.bandcamp.com/track/escalating-thoughts

I also did this UK hardcore track https://djomnimaga.bandcamp.com/track/hardcore-rehab

And guess what! There is now a remix of The Summer Trance! https://djomnimaga.bandcamp.com/track/the-summer-trance-2019

Were they also made on Caustic? I honestly couldn't really get down with Escalating Thoughts, but I don't like much techno in general. I like the other two though! My favorite was Hardcore Rehab. I like songs with variation in the tune.

Yeah, Escalating Thought was experimental, kinda inspired from Nightmare in the Rave. And yes they were all made with Caustic software (I didn't have access to MTVMG at the time)

I made this song

And here is another one, this time gabber:

Mmm, I like those :D
u/Dream of Omnimaga October 26, 2019, 05:43:03 PM
Thanks! Now I started importing some MTVMG sounds to Caustic 3 so I'll be able to use both sounds at once.

EDIT: Here's an eurodance song

Some new happy hardcore (or UK hardcore, it's pretty in-between)

u/Dream of Omnimaga December 04, 2019, 08:33:07 PM
Here is yet another UK hardcore song: Rave Maelstrom https://djomnimaga.bandcamp.com/track/rave-maelstrom
u/Dream of Omnimaga December 19, 2019, 08:35:33 PM
I forgot to post this one: It's another UK hardcore song called Gluten-Free Hardcore and it has a lot of 8-bit influences.
