So. A while ago, back in high school, I was on a Chromebook and I was playing this game. It's called Give Up!!!
If you want to play it, go here (http://www.chrome-games.com/play-give-up-online).
It's just like Portal (literally, all the way down to the character), but minus the portals, and adding lasers, guns, buzzsaws, invisible blocks, and a bunch of other stuff that I won't list here.
It's so similar to Portal, in fact, I thought that this could be ported to the C(S)E.
What do you guys think?
@MateoConLechuga ?
If you do decide to play the game, just know that every level is beatable. I know because I've beaten it myself.
Do you plan to port it or are you suggesting it as a new game idea? Perhaps the Portal Returns engine could be modified to support extra weapons and blocks so that it can be re-used in this game.

I plan to port it. Although modifying the Portal Returns engine would certainly help, and save me from a lot of work. I'd just have to credit Mateo, which isn't that hard. Then again, that's if Mateo agrees to. It is his game engine, after all.
It's fun. I'd love to play this on my CE. I gave up tho. :P
I hope the title wont demotivate you :trollface:

Well, I managed to beat it. So if anything, the title
won't demotivate me.
@Dudeman313 : When did you give up? What level?
Thats a cool game. Not a surprise though, since its made by jmtb02
Maybe like, Lvl 10? I don't know, but I was busy. :P
jmtb02 makes the best Flash games.

Agreed and Edmund McMillen with his Spewer Game
Wow level 14 is hard O.O
My only complaints about the game is that most levels look similar. But that could allow a calc port to be smaller I guess, by re-using the same maps for multiple levels and only moving stuff around.
I'd also like to see that character sprite, or at least something similar, in the ported version.
I plan on it. Also,
@MateoConLechuga , would you mind if I used your assembly engine (the one for Portal Returns) for this project?
Sweet, I like hard games. Looking forwards to see this finished.
i should play this and bug streetwalrus for hints

Probably not. He did release the source, after all. Get started! I can't wait to see progress,
@caleb1997 ! :D
It depends of the license of course. Just because someone releases the source of his programs doesn't mean you can do anything with it. But I bet he wouldn't mind if credited properly. I hope you can find time to do so, though :)

He can always check TI-Planet, which asks you to put it under a license when you post. Then he can know if he can start.
Wow, I've only gotten to Stage 30 before giving up. Apparently I was close to the end though...if only my computer weren't so laggy :P .
The original is fun! It reminds me vaguely of This is the Only Level (and coincidentally, it had the same developer, jtmb02 ;) ). How's progress on an actual port? I'm not seeing anything yet.
*cough* subliminal advertising *cough*
I'm also awaiting progress!
What's up,
@caleb1997 ?
Unfortunately, because of Job Corps, I won't be able to continue with this, as I will not have the time to learn ASM and do well at Job Corps.
:'(
If you can access it, the Why Your Life Sucks thread in safe haven has a more complete explanation (https://codewalr.us/index.php?topic=1096.new#new).
Sorry to hear. I can understand, though. Most people who went at Job Corps didn't have much free time anymore. I hope you can stick around and do some coding every once in a while, though.
That's unfortunate.
If you know a bit of TI-Basic, maybe if you find time, you might be able to use the source of that pure Basic This is the Only Level project on Cemetech, and then add some ASM libs, maybe.
