Last year I put in an effort to get my now 9 years old laptop fixed, working, and updated, this being less expensive than purchasing a quality replacement. That November, I got a new battery and power cord(both non-OEM) and clean installed Windows 10 Pro on my Acer Aspire 5735z.

About 2 hours ago, I started hearing a strange, loud, and inconsistent buzz/crackle clearly originating from the brick of the cord. The sound was so loud it could be heard 6 feet away.

A closer inspection revealed that the noise only was heard while the laptop was plugged in, and that in the short breaks between buzzing, the laptop would lose connection as if unplugged. I have shut down the laptop(which was almost dead at 23%) to preserve battery.

If this can be fixed, how? If a replacement is necessary, please explain why. Please ask me for more information if needed.

I have this 7" Digiland android tablet that won't startup for some strange reason. I know it gets warm and charges, but it won't display a thing. Maybe the display got disconnected? It was owned by my 4 year old sister until it stopped functioning.

I somehow managed to erase my home directory in elementaryOS. Now I can't login. I do have a backup for it, but I am unable to place it where it's needed because "Permission denied." Apparently, I don't have permission to do anything, even tho I have the only account(which is marked as Administrator) on the Linux half of my laptop. How do I restore the backup if I can't login?

I'm trying to install the Lubuntu OS on my quasi-aged Windows Vista laptop. I had Windows 10 and Windows Vista in a dual boot, but then I realized that Vista wasn't genuine or usable. So, I'm trying to put a more streamlined OS in its place.

I already followed some instructions to delete Vista(I erased the partition & reset MBR), so now Windows 10 is the only OS on my laptop.
When I attempt to install Lubuntu as a dual boot, I am presented w/ a screen that asks me about file partitions that I don't understand.
How do I put Lubuntu along side it?

I have a working Panasonic landline handset w/ a damaged speaker, a Nokia E63 with a damaged LCD, and an RCA recording and playback device.
What can I make if I take em all apart and try to fit things together?

Sadness.

I was thinking about porting some of my favorite basic games, to get past only Text games.
I thought of Shift, even though it's made in xLib, maybe I could draw sprites in pure basic?

Anyway, I found you can draw sprites with the Px-On command by looking thru someone's tutorial on ticalc.org, but it takes forever,
especially on my CE, and drawing sprites pixel by pixel on a 320x240 screen is pretty much torture.
@DJ Omnimaga said you can draw with CE Textlib, and I'd like to know how.

So, I've started another project with my overnight self-taught knowledge of TI-BASIC. This time, I've started my first game, inspired by Jeremy Burke's Mr. Bill's Bad Day Out. This story is about his equally unlucky brother, Bob, but with some differences. There will be at least 2 clear ways to win, not just one way to not die, and this is also made "Adventur style."

What do you think? I could probably use some optimizations, so I'm posting it here.
It currently carries out the same functions as Nitro_Hawk's Graph Fix program, toggles Plots(on/off), toggles Diagnostics, and "Enters Workmode."

Work mode is just my custom preferred graph settings. I left this unlocked so users can customize their own WorkMode, but I don't know how
to comment in TI-BASIC, if it's possible. I also named the program GraphSet CE just in case I decide to make a monochrome version, because my program
uses functions (like GridLine) that monochromes lack.

Maybe someone could also test it on the CSE? I don't know if the CSE can have a Line grid.

This is my first project! I've started using the Portal Returns level editor to begin working on This Is the Only Level CE while @JWinslow23 works on This is the Only Level 84+.
With a lot of help from @MateoConLechuga and pretty much everyone else, I can make this happen, and learn on the way. Maybe if I ever finish, I could use Portal CE's engine to port Axio Man...
Here's my progress so far: I have nearly proportionally recreated stage one from the original game. Because there is no scrolling in Portal Returns, the stage is separated into two levels. I had to substitute many things. Where vertical wall spikes and upside-down spike tiles should be are the red death fields, and where the entry/exit tube is there is just either empty space or a blue field. I put in a blue field where the green door would be, and three red buttons where there should be one large red button.
I have changed the jump height to about the same height as the game, which is about 20px high in Portal CE.
Tell me what you think, how I should start to go about this, and if this is worth taking on.
I also made sure you can't portal cheat.

If you've ever played squidgetx's Zombie Gun, you know it's super fun. What I want to do is port it, but that's pretty hard to do with no coding knowledge for the CE(or anything else ).

This might be easier if Axe was ported to the CE, but that probably won't happen anytime soon.

If someone was going to do this, what language would be best for speed, looks, and fluency? I don't think xLIBC has smooth scrolling, so would it be best to use ez80 or C?

Have you ever stopped to think about the way you think about things? If you have, then you've noticed how crooked the rails your train of thought travels on can be. Take the way you remember things.

Not too long ago,  at about 9:50 PM(Eastern Time Zone), I cut my finger open while trying to wash our smoker. When I did this, I put the nearest thing to me that caked on the cut: Baking soda. I know this probably isn't the best thing for a bleeding wound, but it was close by.   So afterwards, I went to our wooden cart to get the Hydrogen Peroxide we had bought for our plants(we had a gnat infestation). They were all sealed. The seal reminded me of how annoying it was to take them off of medicine when it didn't have those easy-peel tabs. Then I remembered how I hadn't completely ripped off the seal on our Vitamin C tablet jar. My mind went to how we used to get gummy Vitamin samples at Costco, then to how I had once opened a container of Vitamin C without my mother's permission. I finally came back to how I hadn't taken a Vitamin C tablet yet today.

While I was looking around the forums, my mom sent me to get something from our finished basement. When I got there, all the carpet was wet, and our high-water alarm was blaring. It still is now! We called our neighbor from across the street, who's a very accomplished handyman, and he's currently surveying the situation. What do I do? This is so unfortunate, as half of my 200 book fiction collection is sitting on the floor down there! AAAH!

I usually don't draw a lot, but when I do, it usually has something to do with my favorite cartoon, made by me, named Steve.
I just now tried to put him into Pixel Art on a 32x32 grid. It looks pretty cool to me, but tell me what you think. Later, I'll attach a picture of the original Steve, try to make Steve 24x24, then see what he looks like with eyes .

I had a bit of trouble understanding the instructions for building this, so I decided to make a topic, so I could get help and others could benefit.
I think I have all the resources I need, but I still don't know exactly how I'm supposed to use them, because I've never used something like this before.
I also tried to use @pimathbrainiac 's nightly thingies() but they stopped working. I'm on W10 Pro, x86, and every time I run pimath's binaries, I get past the ROM dumping from my own 84+ CE and then it tells me "CEmu has stopped working." What do I do?

There are very few utilities for the CE series. Those who can make basic games should create those that can be run without DCSE.
The biggest thing is that wa already have amazing games for other calculators.
Not all game should be brand new ideas.
I like how AB5 is now in dev. for monochrome and the CEs.
If anyone can code this calc, port stuff!

I was just wondering a couple things about calc programming.

- How come Axe cannot be used for color calculators?
- Could an ASM prgm on a TI-84+ run using the exact same code on a CE?
- What about basic?
- Technically, shouldn't the TI-84+ CE be able to display grayscale?
- What would happen if you sent a .8xp TI-BASIC prgm made on a TI-84 to a color calculator and tried to run it?
- How hard would porting be from the TI-84+ to a TI-84+ CE?

Whenever I try to send Freyaday's Nymless.8xk, my TI-84+ performs a Garbage Collect, then shows "Error in Xmit" before it crashes and gives me the "RAM cleared" pop-up. What's goin' on, and what do I do?

E37 from Omni and I are making a combat games in Axe called "Slime," featuring a boss called "Bog Sluzi," which apparently means "Slime Lord" in Latin, according to Bing Translate. Any help with optimization, sprites, title screens, ideas, or just feedback would be appreciated.

I can't find a TI-84+ ROM anywhere! I need it to use with WabbitEmu. I can't find a TI-84+ Silver C ROM either. Can anyone get those to me, ASAP?
