I was doing some searching and found this (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=3247) plugin. I think it would be really awesome if we added it, since that is where some of us (matref and myself at least) post their music.
Don't know if this deserves its own topic, but I didn't really see a suggestions topic in this board :P
That's an idea. I myself posted some music with the Soundcloud embed the other day.
We have one installed, but it doesn't work.
Then we should probably make it work. :P
I'll look on SMF website to see if they actually fixed the issue. The last time I checked there was not even a single post about the problem.
It's possible it just requires using a totally uncommon URL syntax, though.
@pimathbrainiac I figured out how to get the Soundcloud plugin to work: You have to use the following URL format:
http://w.soundcloud.com/player/?url=https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/<track ID number>166877736
I don't know why vbgamer45 used that syntax for the Simple Audio Video Embedder mod, but this is the URL that is used by the Soundcloud embedded player thing when we share tracks.
In order to get the URL above:
1) Go to the song page
2) Click the share button
3) You'll see "Share Embed Message" at the top. Click "Embed".
4) Copy the track ID from the URL in the HTML code they provide and append it at the end of the URL above instead of the <track ID number> thing.
THen it should give something like this:
http://w.soundcloud.com/player/?url=https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/166877736
Thanks! Now I can embed my tracks here easily! Is it the same basic format for playlists, as well?
Thats really handy actually, but wasnt soundcould about to go bankrupt or something?

Only individual tracks work, I think.

Yeah but it's still uncertain. Bandcamp rules anyway, IMHO :P
