TI-Nspire CX being discontinued in Canada (or at least Quebec)?

It looks like that the TI-Nspire CX series has finally bit the dust in Canada, at least in brick and mortar stores in various cities. In the last three years, every Spring the Staple stores around where I live would discount the TI-Nspire CX model to $150, which, in US dollars, is even less than how it costs in USA. The regular price the first year was $195, then the second year $180 and the third year $170, despite the falling Canadian dollar. Stores would always restock again in August, when school started.

However, this year, they never restocked: The TI-Nspire CX is now gone from Staples over here. One month ago, one Nspire CX was available in the bargain bin with no price sticker and it had been sitting there for months. The 84+CE arrived a month ago and they are still restocking on four other models. So I can only assume that it was selling poorly. The only graphing calcs now available are the following:

TI-83+ ($125)
TI-84+ ($143, currently on sale at $120)
TI-84+CE ($150, currently on sale at $130)
TI-89 Titanium ($180)
Casio fx-CG10 ($130)

The CX is still available online, as well as the CAS, so unless they are still available in brick and mortar Best Buy stores, then this could mean that the Nspire CX in Canada is now online-exclusive, like the CX CAS always was.

I'm more thinking that sales were not that great. I remember that when the TI-Nspire Clickpad came out, they had to slash the prices due to poor sales and in certain areas the calculator simply didn't sell at all. In Quebec's case, I'm thinking more that the TI-89 Titanium is still the most popular in university and since many people still buys stuff in brick and mortar stores, then it's their only option, as the TI-Nspire CAS models were never sold in such store over here.

They are still common but simce their prices aren't that much lower than color models, people tend to pick up color models more nowadays. Also ticalc.org download stats indicates that monochrome calcs were overthrown by the CSE and CE.

I guess, more kids are all like: "I need the newer one, because its not new." But little do they know, that the monochromes have better games... :P

That's because the monochrome calcs have been around for far longer, though, and back in their early days the TI community was several times bigger than now.

A little update: Just like last year, Staples got rid of all their Nspire CX stock once the back to school rush was over with heavy discounts, only to stock their shelves again last August with full-price CX calcs.

However, it seems like the TI-89 Titanium days in Canada are now over, as Staples (even the website) no longer appears to sell them over here. It's still on the US website but I'm willing to bet it's no longer being produced at this point. It was discontinued several years ago in France. D:
