@JWinslow23 , looks like you're gonna have some backing up to do and find another place to re-upload your magic trick videos. Twitter just announced that Vine app will cease its operations in a few months D:

Not that I cared much about Vine myself but sometimes people shared funny stuff from there on Twitter.
Looks like it's still staying online, because they can. They will no longer put any effort into maintaining the app, at least separate from Twitter.
Are you sure? I could not find any evidence that it's gonna stay online anywhere. They even say in a news that they will provide instructions to people for backing up their stuff, which is a sign that perhaps they'll eventually take everything down or move it to Twitter.

That's pretty much what they said in the link in the OP.

I agree. They will shut it down eventually. But not before the users have been warned and also not in a near future.
I bet it will become read-only then be imported into Twitter in the future
That's if Twitter doesn't shut down either.
Vine's shutting down? This is great news! Now people won't run around referencing stupid viral Vines like "What's 9+10" and "What're those?!?"! Also, it means that my UK dwelling 9 year old cousin might stop swearing because he watches too many Vines.
Well, to be fair, some Vines were quite good. It's just that most people didn't use it properly.
