Have you ever wondered how active the TI community was, back in 2002-2004? Have you ever wondered where people posted back in the days? Have you ever thought that a particular website was quiet, but that in fact, it was not the case? Were there global community lulls in the past too?

Well, now here are your answers, on TI-Story: The TI forum statistic archival project, which started in 2010 then got expanded in 2015, has now been imported into TI-Story, a wiki which has documentation about most websites, groups, people and events in the TI Community from 1990 to present. Most statistics from 2002 to June 26th 2015 are included. If you have an account there, you can also contribute, unlike the static table that was available in the project topic in PNG format.

Since the statistics were all manually collected by finding the right post IDs with trial and error, as well as from archive.org, they are not 100% accurate. However, they should give you a big idea of how the TI community evolved over the last 13 years.

Indeed, but TI-Story doesn't let guests edit their pages. It went read-only for a while too when the admin noticed there wasn't enough activity, but it was re-open to editing per request.

So it's not only you who gave a contribution? Or did you do the most part by collecting those stat?

Oh it was me for the most part so far, unless somebody else edited the stats since their addition to  the page. However, in Jan 2010, TI-Freak8x was kind enough to send me the Invisionfree TIFW site stats since I couldn't figure out a fast way to grab them from there at the time.

On a side note, something I wonder is if there should also be a section where Github calculator projects post stats are also compiled year by year?

I am unsure about how they should be categorized and how hard it would be to calculate, but on Github, people can post bug reports, comment on issues and such things, and since parts of the TI community have moved to Github, then perhaps it would be wise to have a section where all known TI projects have their issue comments compiled. This would also be an indicator of how much percentage of the community activity have moved outside forums and if the community activity really decreased that much a few years ago.

On the other hand, we would also have to track Sourceforge, Codeplex and private Github-like sites, since many people use their own sites for that. That section would also need to be separate from forum stats I think, to avoid cluttering it.
