Update: Here is a fixed Yoshi Walrus:

The other one was a bit too large, and this one is shaped more like the regular :walrii:

The Nintendo (or Sega) console walrus family is slowly growing:

Woah, those are really cool. Nice!

I especially like the walrii titled I am surprised walrii can even walk while holding a shield.

Thanks, and yeah that one was titled like that because I couldn't imagine a real-life walrus walking around while holding a shield with his flipper, let alone a sword. :P

Yeah so true lol. Well, who sais that anything about video games is realistic. Also that walrii is a zelda walrii right?
u/Dream of Omnimaga December 30, 2015, 12:32:32 AM
Yeah it's Link from Zelda.

Already supported. Meta Knight has a 80x54 sprite when flying for example.

Oh, I thought the limit was 24 pixels in width or something.

For a game i am making, i wrote a routine to render a walrus in any colours. Here is an example:

Here is the sprite sheet:

notice the grey scale sprite are used to build the cusum coloured walrus.

Ooh, that is really nifty c4ooo. I was thinking about making Walrii Maker for the HP Prime or CSE at some point, but it would probably have been much more simple (less gradients, for instance) and require people to use emulator screen capture functions. My idea was to make the walruses so there are only two grays for the body. I was also thinking about allowing people to choose different bodies, such as the cloud, cat or Pikachu and maybe have objects or stuff.

Do you plan to release this as a standalone Walrii character creator?

Awesome c4ooo! but what are the arrow walriis for ???

Probably not, but i could. I would have to rewrite it though because the image is never realy
generated - the different parts are just rendered onto the screen with different colours ;)

They may be used in the UI of the game.

Anyhow, if i ever finish this, the user will be able to create his own walrus character :)

O.o that sounds awesome!!! will you be able to pick between types of walriis ex: walriichu or the regular walrii? I hope you finish good luck ;)

That is cool. There should be pre-made templates and stuff, though, so people don't just butcher Walrii :P. Perhaps allow a small space for a cutie mark, though.

My HP Prime idea was to set a rectangle to a color of the user's choice, then copy Walrii there but with the gray transparent, which thus gets replaced with the color of the square. Then repeat the process with a different color shade for the gradient (if applicable and depending of how detailed it is). Once done, you repeat the process with the eyes.

This is Walrii, made to fit Commodore 64 sprite limitations (technically, it's 12x21, so this uses two sprites side by side)

I assume it would be Commodorii?

That actually looks really nice O.O
