Heya!
After a while in developement, we finally decided to release the mobile notifier! :D
Features:- Last 10 posts can be viewed from the app.
- Images are also displayed in the app
- most bb tags are also parsed
- Double tap a post to open it in the browser.
- Service sending a push-notification when a new posts is made.
- Changable time between update checks.
- Enable / Disable service.
- Enable / Disable mobile data used to check for updates.
Known bugs:- There is a bug in android 4.4.2 where it doesn't restart services, which kills the service instandly :( (at least thats what i think it is)
- You tell me :)
Not yet implemented- Smileys (that means walrii too :()
- Links in posts. [ url] [ /url] tags work though
- WIRC??? (Maybe)

Initially i wanted to put the app on the play store too, but i don't know if thats a good idea.
You have to enable 'install from unknown locations' in your settings, but that get's prompted by android automatically
If you encounter any bugs or have any suggestions please let me know :)
Nice. Can't wait to try it.
Oh, awesome. Good luck completing it :)
Awesome! I am installing it right now. It looks very nice on my phone and I like the Walrii page refresh background. :) I'll check if notifications works now.
So some basic thoughts. Add an option not to automatically search for posts. Use back to switch to previous tab. Other than that pretty good.
Tanks all! And thanks CHK4 for your feedback :)
Ok so I tried it and notifications work! :D But I think the :walrii: icon could be improved so that everything that is supposed to be black is actually transparent, rather than just the outline. Otherwise the icon kinda looks weird. To see what I mean, it should look like the first icon below rather than the second current one:
Awesome! I sadly don't have an Android phone, but I'm gonna try it out in a emulator!
I just got another idea in the other notifier thread: What about a setting where you can enter member IDs, separated by commas, so that for example, if I entered ID #1 it ignored my posts? That way, I don't get notified of my own posts. Of course, people would probably be able to use it to ignore posts from specific users or boards, which might not necessarily be good, but I guess that could be handy if the forum got super busy at one point and some new members were obnoxious (although they would get punished eventually, but that can take a few offenses before they do, depending of how active they are)
Hmm yeah that might be a good idea. Maybe i can have some sort of 'username' setting too.. Il go see if theres a tapatalk api or something for authentication :)
Login would be an alternative, although not necessary unless you decided to implement the ability to use WalrusIRC and posting (which are kinda obsoleted already by our mobile theme)
Hmm.. I could also upgrade the plugin at one point, so it allows entering of username instead of id and does a small lookup. Anyway i'll see, the next few weeks are going to be very busy for me and i'll won't have much developement time :/
Aah sorry to hear. Hopefully school goes well for you. D:
^^
Also, can you change the color scheme?
Yep, gotta try that out. Is it going on Google Play, F-Droid or some sort of Android repo?

No, but that might be an interesting feature to add. Though all colors are defined in xml files and i don't know if i can change those easily programatically

Well, Google Play might be an option, but i don't think that would be really effective, since users can directly download it from here, right?
Awesome, now I need someplace to use it :P

If it gets on Google play, you would have to make it very clear at the top of the description that it's for CodeWalrus forums with the URL, if Google Play allows it. Otherwise, it might be hard for people to figure out what this app is for.
