I didn't know you were into metal CVSoft :3=

This is not really my type of death metal, but it's definitively not bad. I'm more into the melodic stuff, such as this:

Heir of Grief by Joren De Bruin, easily one of the best songs from the Homestuck soundtrack and part of today's 18-minute epic animation. No seriously go read Homestuck it's getting really epic at the end.

Wow Juju that SOAD cover sounds great :O. Totally like Yngwie material.

GuyinFreezer that song is cool. Not necessarily my style of metal, but if you tone down the guitar a bit then you get Star Ocean The Last Hope style music. :)

I don't think Meshuggah would consider themselves death metal at any point; they came from thrash metal (in their earlier work you can see Metallica's influence) and call themselves progressive metal.

Ah ok. But there seemed to be growls in the music and the style seemed similar. But again, some folk metal bands consider themselves as power metal sometimes. Personally I don't mind growl vocals also, but I'm more into the melodic side of death and black. As for thrash metal it depends. It has to generate mosh pits for me to like it and has a minimum of melodies.

Now that you talk about thrash metal, here is one song I love from the 80's:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USldA_fG_D8&nohtml5=False

(I actually got caught in a real mosh pit at an Overkill concert a few years ago because I stood next to it and people thought I was participating. It was kinda hardcore, although I usually prefer it when I decide to go in the mosh pit on my own)

Also, back into the power metal side of things, although perhaps more on the heavy metal side, has any of you ever listened to very early Stratovarius stuff? A lot of people know Strato by their 1997-03 and 2009-2011 material, but they have been around since the 80's and some of their old stuff is very good too, IMHO:

Also, did you know that Sonata Arctica used to do punk rock? :P

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Avum9MPdOy8

Actually, not really, but you can clearly notice punk rock influence from this song. Btw this song is from 1996 and it was remade into Flag in the Ground in 2009 (which I don't like as much, but is still fun). I wish they remade that song into its original style, like they did with "I'm Haunted"

Wow, I knew he was also in a Finnish language band I forgot the name of and also did vocals for Avalon's band (which was started by Timo Tolkki IIRC), but I didn't know he also made video game and TV show covers.

Also, I am not listening to the following song (I think @Streetwalrus and @aeTIos like it, though :P), but this gotta be the most unfitting song for a videoclip ever <_< (disco song + western setting)

This reminds me how unfitting this song was for Dragon Ball Z French opening (running in circle around flowers song + warriors exploding everything everywhere video):
