I've noticed a few bugs recently right now I can only remember 2 but I'll probably remember eventually.
WalrusIRC won't show up. This happens when I am logged in for a long time, I'm guessing that this an issue with SMF.
I also can't vote on polls (only tried one so it might be isolated to that poll).
As an added issue. Gmail has started calling the forum updates spam.
Strange, I thought that the WIRC issue had been fixed this morning. Cumred had the same problem and it was caused by permission issues for members between 100 and 499 posts.
As for polls I'll need to check again, but it might be a similar issue. Have you tried recently?
Regarding the Gmail issue it is probably something we can't do about, due to the repeated nature of post notifications via e-mail. The best you can do is to click "Not spam".
EDIT: I might have found the issue with polls. Can you try again? Also, let me know if you still can't see WIRC. Ideally, post a screenshot of what happens.
WIRC is just a blank div. Logging out and logging back in fixed it. Also voting is fixed, thanks.
Ah I see. What browser do you use and which version and OS? I never had loading issues with WIRC in Opera nor Chrome, but at the local shopping mall, when I use their wi-fi it says I need to login to chat on WalrusIRC, even when I am logged in.
Huh, interesting bug. Android chrome and windows 8.1 chrome.
Ah ok. I myself had the login issue I mentionned on Chrome Android.
I dont seem to have any problems with logging in via android though
I'm on Chrome mobile (Screw FX mobile, you're drunk) mobile and never had such problems.

Yeah I can login fine anywhere. It's just that even when logged in, I can't chat if I use the shopping mall wi-fi. :P I guess it's a bug in WalrusIRC causing problems detecting if the user is logged in. IIRC this happens sometimes the first time someone registers and make his first post.
Maybe it's possible that the mall stops the IRC connection?
Not sure. I mostly connect via there, my home connection or 3G. Maybe unlike the site itself WalrusIRC cannot handle such change in connection?
Next time try going to the full screen client. That worked even when the embedded one didn't for me.
Do you mean the one via the green title bar or the one available by clicking Walrii in the white bar? Because the one in the green bar is a different shoutbox called OmnomIRC (which WalrusIRC is dependent on)
I think he means walrusirc.codewalr.us

Yep, that's what I meant. You might want to link to that in the top bar so that more people know that it exists.
I added Omnom instead because some people might have troubles getting WIRC to work, especially since it's incomplete. There's also a limit of links and text you can put in the title bar. Maybe juju could make the extra links more visible, though, such as an halo around Walrii or changing Walrii to something like an expanding icon.
Yeah, a shadow, that would probably be a good idea.
That would look really cool in my opinion as I had lost the options without realizing that the walrus was a link.
Something went wrong
(http://img.codewalr.us/buggie.png)
Wut? I wonder if it has to do with the tutorial sub-forum addition? I think something went wrong with SSI, though.
What the hell. O.O I hope it's not the hack I did in the glib tutorial thread. :P
Hm what kind of hack did you do? Because that could possibly do it. Have you changed server stuff today?
Otherwise, you should perhaps check server access logs in case a third-party found a security breach or guessed our passwords
I just shuffled a few post IDs to change the post order, that's all. I doubt this would break it. It looks like it's a problem with simple portal.
Oh, that could do it. I had bad experiences with topic ID changes before. Could you maybe revert the change to see what happens, or possibly delete the topic then repost it? In the past, when I did such change, some posts would vanish or other weird stuff would happen.
Also in case you haven't noticed, post IDs jumped by 100000, which is one consequence of swapping IDs by hand (on the Omni forums I had this happen with topic IDs too)
Testing something.
Edit : it works ! Thanks DJ. Everything's back in order now. I had to to more voodoo stuff with the message IDs. :P
Yay! The problem is SSI Recent Topics (which the Active topics page uses) will display all topics in which the last 400 posts or so were posted. However, the manipulation you did led to a big gap between ID 21400 and 121400 or so, so it checked new posts from 121000 upwards, which is why it was empty.
This was sort of odd (but minor): I received an email notification that I was mentioned, and it pointed to the right post, but the wording is a bit strange:
QuoteDJ Omnimaga mentioned you in the post "StarTrek, you have been mentioned at a post in CodeWalrus", you can view the post at https://codewalr.us/index.php?msg=23900
Clearly, the title of the post isn't "StarTrek, you have been mentioned at a post in CodeWalrus" :P Unless I'm missing something here.
I get that sometimes as well.
Wow I have an idea of why this might happen (perhaps when that post mentions more than 1 person at a time?), but it's definitively a strange bug. I'll have to poke the author of the plugin about it.
A bit of a necropost, but I wasn't sure I should post this in the "todo list & updates discussion".
I noticed that in http://codewalr.us/1139/32818 , the smilies at the beginning of the post were turned to images, as they should because I didn't check the box not to - but then a couple smilies near the end of the post weren't.
Wow, I even apper in the others' e-mail notifications :P
Interesting glitch. I know there are issues with Quotes causing bbcode afterwards to not work properly, and this also happened on Invisionfree. Not sure if SMF is aware of it, though (I'll have to Google and check their bug list)
And what about the YouTube tag never working?

And what about the YouTube tag never working?
To embed youtube videos, just paste the link, it'll get converted automatically.
Then why is it still there? If it doesn't work, then there's really no point of leaving it.

Idk, it's not like I'm an admin or someth- wait...

it's deprecated. We didn't remove it yet because the site plugin manager is broken right now.
this random button appears when i search for a thread.
Yeah I never figured out why this happens >.<
It appears to only happen to admins.
Yeah, when searching specifically. Not sure why really. I think it has something to do with the fact we have custom navigation links.
Yeah, it must be the remains of a Search button.
Nah, the search used a separate button for search, which looks different.
IDK where to put this but.

I clicked the PM button on the sidebar viewing a post, hit send PM and this happens.
your link https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/279141383841906688/302346859995725825/unknown.png doesnt exist anymore sorry :/
do u still have the screenshot as a file?
Yeah the image link is broken
it does exist... i can see the embed and the link bri gs me to the file. (this is all on my kindle as well) so... you are broken? and my kindle has nothing to do woth discord so its nothing likr signing in.

That is odd because I get an XML 'empty file' error upon opening the link.
ah well, I'll reupload it when i get the chance
I think it might have something to do with file viewing permissions, kinda like WholeWheatBagels when he uploads files to Google Drive or something
no idea what went wrong x.x

Wut? I hope Youtube didn't change something critical
I got that like 30 times yesterday.
It fixed when I reloaded the page, though.
would we pleeeeeze make the wirc thingy not show "xxx left" and "xxx joined" messages if the last message was a :walrii:
we'll never manage to get 10 :walrii: in a row if this continues :ninja:
Also, make it show edits...
You should also show karma changes, similar to a mention.

Yes, it probably does. Most public wifi's have filters that stop you from doing work on their wifi (idk why), and for some reason WIRC is considered work. I object. When WIRC is open, I get
zero work done. (for example, I have math hw I should be doing rn)

Just happened to me again...
This is a Youtube bug, not a CW bug
Ok. That's good to know!
Youtube has gone through a bunch of changes, so that seems logical.
Yeah. Hopefully they just introduced a temoorary bug and not an API changrle. That would suck.
Also the problem didn't happen for mr so far in Opera/Chromium nor Mobile Chrome
My posts not showing up lol (In Walrus IRC)
Or mine. I think Walrified is either in-dev (if it is, add my suggestions!) or flat out broken.
@p2 has different logic:
QuoteIs walriified Overfed or maybe sleeping...?
well there is some logic behind it as that's the times when I stop functioning 9_9
It was due to an EFnet netsplit.

What I see:
這是由於互聯網中繼通信網絡
What I say:
umm.... Bless you?
After I did some research (aka asking the guys on Cemetech and PT_ is awesome for answering) and a netsplit is
[_iPhoenix_] What is a netsplit?
[P_T] Then a connection between 2 servers broke, which means the IRC thing stuff is split in half
EFnet and IRC in general dates back in the late 80's, so I can totally understand that people don't know much about it nowadays :P
they're like audio connector and USB2: there's a thousand better things, but everyone still uses them since they simply work and u can connect them everywhere ^^
we have our IRC, connected to the WIRC (Web-interface for the IRC), then the Telegram chat that is connected to it, we could even Link the minecraft server chat to an IRC if we wanted to ^^
but if one of the servers connecting this system breaks down... then we get some problems >.< xD
Well, most of the TI community continued using EFnet since the 90's because the established IRC channels have remained there during their entire existence. And most people prefer connecting to just 1 server, not to mention many clients are setup to automatically cycle between EFnet servers, so over time the newer IRC channels decided to set up shop on EFnet for maximum visibility.

Its a problem with the forum mod installs :v
Yeah some mods did not fully reinstall properly on custom themes.
it's not a bug it's a feature.
It's there in case u missed it the first time how great the post was
Like a little tl;dr: post was awesome but twice, which makes it twice as handy 9_9
If you fail to put anything in the search box, the message had a "1" instead of a "!" after it.
