Yeah, that's what I've been trying to explain several times :P
But changing your distro isn't "wasted time". I mean, yeah, it's wasted time if you want only one DE and don't know which one yet (in which case you'd want to install any distro, then try all DEs then switch to your distro of choice with your DE of choice) but otherwise, you also have to choose a distro so it's good to try them too.

Nevermind. I had elementary installed and I somehow managed to both delete and backup my home directory. I managed to restore it, but I still couldn't login. So, I scrapped the entire thing and reinstalled, because I have no idea to install just the DE. I'm still trying to reinstall all my things.
