Walrii can now speak! Never before will you have seen a walrus speak like that :D
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PODaBvaeTNw
(even baby walruses (http://youtube.com/watch?v=VK-hNSngCN8) can't speak this high :P)
If you can figure out a longer audio that doesn't sound artiticially stretched I might redo the video with it, though.
This is the intro that will replace the old one at the beginning of my Youtube videos. If we have some projects progress with screenshots soon, I might make a longer, standalone video featuring some site content, though (probably using a non-metal song by Twilight Force)
Lol nice, I like how this sounds like Yoshi. :P
Lol hehe thanks. I'll have to redo it, though, because on Youtube the beginning is cutoff by horrible audio compression. >.<
EDIT Done. I managed to stretch the audio a little bit without destroying it and I also moved it later into the vid.
You can now hear a better version (although it's more the audio being stretched a little more, equalized and moved farther into the vid:

I can't do much, tho, because vocals are digital and low quality in the first place, and intro videos can't be longer than 3 seconds.
Ah nice. Could you upload the source video somewhere so that we can use it when uploading stuff ? (Supposing I'd upload stuff to youtube again. My first video is kinda cty., see below :P)

Methcrack? :P
J/k, here is a copy: http://codewalr.us/other/youtubesplashscreenfinal.avi
You can upload to Youtube, then go to creator studio -> channel -> branding -> choose new video in the Branding introduction section
Necropost:
@Juju asked me if he could get the :walrii: sound I used in some of my videos last year, so I decided to attach a zip file containing both the sound and a new Youtube splash screen for people who wants to add the three seconds CodeWalrus logo display at the start of their Youtube videos.
It is now attached below the first post. :)
Thanks! I'm trying something with that, I'll tell you guys about it later.
Cool, be sure to let us know in here. :) Also I put a different splash screen in the zip because the original advertised both my music and CW rather than just CW, since it was designed for my Youtube channel.
Also, back in early 2015, Youtube had a feature that allowed people to append a 3 seconds splash screen to all their past, present and future videos, which is why I have videos from 2009-13 with CW in it. That feature was terminated on March 31st 2015 but we could choose if we want to keep our intro as a permanent video fixture for existing uploads.
I will definitively use this for my coding/ Prime vids ;)
Yay! Also I am really curious about what Juju plans to make...
I am can't wait also! But if we ever get a good looking 3D walrii that looks realistic we could use blender with it's motion tracking to make it look like it is a thing IRL xD
ROFL, imagine if someone decided to do videos of themselves about CW topics and releases, and had a virtual 3D walrus besides him who participated in the vids too. o.o

Now I really can't wait for VR to be common place :P
Well, my idea was to just use CGI like in movies :P
Yeah, but with VR it would be cool to walk around the walrii :P
Yeah I know. I'm still a little worried about VR headsets personally because I hope they cannot damage your vision and cause headaches due to our eyes being so close to screens like the Nintendo Virtual Boy in 1995 >.<

The solution I think is augmented reality where you wear see through glasses that have mini projectors for each lense. Then if you wanted to take a rest form VR then you unfocus your eyes form the projector and turn the projector off ;)
I would get augmented reality tech before anything else because it isn't just useful for games you can use it for day to day stuff, some even have facial recognition if you forget a person's name O.O
Yeah, VR sure is cool. As a Windows Insider, I was invited to test and evaluate the Hololens, but I don't have 3,000 dollars to spend.
Also, I made a Hololens topic awhile back.

Yeah the facial recognition would be nice, but maybe it wouldn't be legal due to privacy concerns. Also augmented reality without glasses is kinda interesting even if not as immersive. I am definitively curious, for example, about how Pokémon Go will turn out. I know that monster games with such technology were attempted before such as Invizanimal for the PSP.
That said we're kinda off-topic :P
This is a bit old, but this is one of the sounds that :walrii: can also make, according to
@aeTIos https://tg.lolis-in.space/file_51.oga
That hurts my ears x.x
It wasn't even that loud lol. Also it reminds me a bit of Donald Duck and Yoshi combined together :P
very much prefer the "Wabliii" over this donald duck sound >.>
/me expected some powermetal to start playing after that sound :3
Lol :walrii: power metal would sound weird O.O . I wonder if
@Streetwalrus or
@aeTIos would like a metal song where the signing is only Walrii kwak/walrii sounds.
like collecting 100 samples of reallive walruses and cut it together to a super weird walrus power metal song? O.o
maybe even apply some voice filters so it sounds like a walrus in screaming metal mode O.O
dj I know what's gonna be your next music project... ;D
I don't think I will do a Walrii song. However, I thought about making a gabba happy hardcore remix of Crazybus theme. I could maybe add the Walrii voice in some song locations, though, as easter egg.
One day I'm gonna tell my children: "When I was your age we were playing with calclators instead of tablets. Calculators that had real buttons and that were thicker than your fingers! And we were listening to happy hardcore and a singing walrus all day!"
That reminds me of Back to the Future 2 when kids are shocked that video games used to be played with hands instead of movement, or that AVGN episode where the nerd has to explain that back in the days, newspapers were delivered on paper at people's doorstep. :P
I'm still also curious if calcs will reach vintage computing platform status, since a bunch of younger and older people are occasionally buying TI-82 or TI-85 calcs to hack them or make some games.

I'm still hoping for a comeback of the Nintendo Powerglove

Actually we should really change something bout that... :/ if you ever helped to "spread" (right word?) these advertisement papers from super markets, you realize just how much wood it is we waste on it... it's like a wood plate as thick as your finger for every single house - every single week... And the real newspaper would be the same emount of wood again - every single day... O.o
It's not that bad since it's all recycled of cause but still even the waste of energy to deliver this stuff to everyone... >.>
If they bring back the powerglove, then I hope they do it right, this time. <_<
And newspapers are shrinking in popularity, but it depends of the demographics. Over here the population is quite old and still into newspapers. However, only 1 newspaper gets printed on a daily basis anymore here, the others being either weekly or online-only.
speaking of newspapers... have yo ever been to london and ordered fish and chips there...?
When I did it was wrapped up in a newspaper but it was soo full of oil the whole paper was soaked and dripping off oil. :ninja:
when I finally managed to remove the paper (pretty hard since it was sticking to the food) I realized the boiling oil made the newspaper's ink stick to the food, too, so in the end I got some "food" with random stuff printed onto it... (looked like it was some financial stuff) >.<
I really dont know how comes the people there love this stuff so much... It was terrible >.<
Ew, I hope it was some ink that wasn't toxic O.O. I already hate when the wrapping sticks to the food, now if I had ink printed on my meal I would probably not eat it. X.x
had no food the whole day and was stupid enough to spend my lat money on it since I said to myself I should really try it out if I'm already in london... xD
but yess most of that inc is a bit toxic... in germany theey tell you not even to burn your newspapers since the ink would result in "snining soot" (asked google translator) that would stick to the entire fireplace :/
It most likely depends of the ink really, maybe some stuff don't use ink. But for example, kekab sticks sometimes have stuff written on them and nothing bad happens when you broil your kekabs. Seriously, though, not only newspapers use toxic ink for food but also they tend to be dirty due to dust and all >.<.
