Title: Besiege
Post by: Duke "Tape" Eiyeron on February 17, 2015, 04:06:04 PM
I got myself Besiege (http://www.besiege.spiderlinggames.co.uk/), which is a fun sandbox game but quite hard to grasp the basic mechanic things.

Very fun, wait until the are more content maybe, there are only 15 levels and I can't see where cogs could be usful without breaking everything.

Besiege is good, I'd recommend getting it soon because if they add more content they may decide to raise the price.

Yeah, you could jump on the occasion and make a deal but you can too get away with an unfinished game/

What if the extra content costs extra money as DLC? :P Anyway I never heard about that game before. Is it sandbox in the  Minecraft way?

Nah, sandbox like in Crush the Castle, but in 3D and more fun to use. I just made a siege ram on wheels quite easy to maneuver.

It's not made by EA ;D

I just bought it and i quite like it :3= .
I made a catapult which fires mines, and surprisingly far

Aaah,  I need to know how good catapults are done,  I found the trick to have a neat way to turn without breaking anything and have a good rotation speed.

i don't really know anything about catapults, i just did something. And it explodes when i fire too hard/ early.

I use pistons for my catapults but as cumred said, it often explodes the vehicle.

I find them not quite powerfill enough. I use a hinge and springs :3

I suggest another topic for Besiege,  this is taking too much place and semi-offtopic.

I split the discussion into a new topic :P

Thanks, I should have done it instead of make a remark 'bout it.

Soo. Flamethrowers are quite dangerous, each time one use it, it'll end as a suicide burn (hello KSP pun) as a random thing will collide with your siege machine and get burnt to death. Oh and armors are pretty useless, aren't they?

They protect against arrows and flame. The two things that can cripple a decent run.

Not flame, Each time I end up burning my own thing with a flamethrower or a random burning obstacle...

Oh, by the way, here is my plower, it's quite maniable and got me most of the "destroy things" stages that didn't have any castle to flatten. press h to lower/raise the plow, I made it so to avoid being an obstacle for the suspensions.

Oh, cool. I'll try it out.

Edit. The description of armor says that its flame resistant.

I just burnt my plower with a flamethrower. What am I doing wrong? oO

EDIT : With the new version adding neat things like poles or sliders, I could extend the length of Skelett's plow and add a cushioned cannon which depends on a slider and two springs to get at the initial position without adding too much pression on the removable decoupler to get rid of the cannon. Don(t forget to pres l before firing, unless you'll get a pretty fun jokari ball! :p

That's just the way that the game is.

Ah, that seems a bit weird to me. If there is a complex terrain, then how do we know if the player is behind a cliff or something? Unless it's mostly flat land?

The only not-flat land is the land which is bot grey :)
I dont know why they did it this way, maybe to save vertices, but it looks nice in any case
