Title: Whats Your New Year's Aspect Ratio?
Post by: c4ooo on December 31, 2015, 06:48:09 PM
So, all over different forums there are threads popping up, with ppl asking what the New Years resolutions of other people are. So, what is your new years aspect ratio resolution? :)

Mine is somewhere around 1400*700 or something :P

Technically thats a resolution, your aspect ratio would be 1400/700 = 2. :P

Mine is 2880/1800 = 8/5

3120x1050 (28:9) for now, hoping to get to 5040x1080 (44:9) sometime. :P

Otherwise, not much, other than the fact that I should shake my ass a bit and find a job I guess.

I've got two. 1440x900 and 1920x1080. So 4:3  and 16:9 respectively :P

1440x900 is the 14:9/16:10 masterrace though. Not the tiny 4:3 nor the stupid 16:9. :P

Mine? I'd say, 96x65, but I'm pushing for 265x165 eventually. But do you wanna know something I'm really pushing for? 256x240.

0:1. That being said, I want to finish Sorcery of Uvutu and start a new project, although I'm not really sure what this project will be.

I wouldn't want a 1:0 or 0:1 screen, unless the 0 was worth 1 pixel, which would mean the screen would reach infinity. :P

As for aspect ratio, 4:3 with a resolution of 4x3 pixels beats the rest. Proof: the 4x3 contest got 14 entries :P

Reuben CSE? :P (I already got mockups, map data and spritesheets ready since 2014 if anyone wants to do it)

That would be really great, although I'm not the man to do it. I want to finish this RPG so I can work on another genre. And you and Soru are really the only people who've shown they're good enough to make a Reuben game.

True, although I failed hard the last time I attempted making a CSE remake >.<. Part of the issue is that maps were designed to be 12x8, so I had to implement tile scrolling and I had serious issues with collision and converting map data (I have it converted but it took multiple tries before it fits my needs. Maybe I could do it for the CE instead.

The worst is collision, but in Zampy's Quest it is really smooth, I just have it is the spread sheet so it auto updates collisions ^.^, though IDK if it calculates it every line of code... I could probably speed it up allot now that I think of it xD

But we are kinda getting off topic :P
