I think that is the shortest post in CodeWalrus history O.O (but again, I think I once posted a single letter post on Cemetech, which only went through after I added a linebreak)

The following song might be a tad too fast for an UK hardcore mix, though :P

Nice.

Also, just leaving this here... S3RL is a pretty good one, and he just posted a 10 years mix of his best songs.

Also nice mix @kotu . I like how you also included some older songs or songs with older styles. Also @Juju S3RL was cool. One of my favorite track from him was the Neon Genesis Evangelion remix.

By the way I also did DJ mixes with various softwares, not turntables, but some of them are just mixes of my own songs or includes my songs. Also, only one of them is 100% hardcore.

For the following mixes, the hardcore/drum and bass stuff starts about halfway through the mixes or a bit later. Volume 3 and 5 had no hardcore/dnb, hence why I only included volume 1, 2 and 4 below. Volume 5 Part 2 or Volume 6 were supposed to be 100% hardcore/dnb but finally got canceled.

Also @kotu you should check out the Deep Magic Dance megamixes. There are about 100 of them IIRC, but while all of them starts with eurodance, the last 20 minutes or so is often faster and filled with 90's happy hardcore. I think hardcore started being seriously included around Volume 35 or so. There was also Deep Dance I think but it seems it didn't have hardcore. All are from Germany.

DJ Omnimech you asked if I ever tried to make hardcore well I had another 'attempt', what I made was not hardcore, but it does have some cheky piano reminding me of ratpack-type stuff, if you know what I am saying (nb). It's more just drum music though DJ Surgeon says and he says it is c.

:D

After one decade of search, I finally found out who made the happy hardcore remix of Gangsta's Paradise (which was one of the most common Limewire songs when searching for happy hardcore). It's by DJ Dave and it's from 1996 (I thought it was from 1998-99, based on the style)

He even made a reggae version lol: https://youtube.com/watch?v=8KALDjYP1-Y

Also @kotu those piano melodies would definitively fit well into actual happy hardcore or even UK hardcore :3=
u/kotu October 05, 2016, 06:35:41 PM
that's more hard house
u/Dream of Omnimaga October 05, 2016, 06:39:21 PM
Do you mean the piano in your song or the songs I posted?
u/kotu October 05, 2016, 06:40:11 PM
no that dj dave track

Wouldn't hard house be more around 140 bpm, though? I would say this is more halfway between eurodance and happy hardcore.

Also, the following is not hardcore but this is some frigging old video there lol. 1989 illegal UK rave:

Back then the illegal rave scene was pretty huge lol but people apparently took illicit drugs there >.<. I wonder if they still happen nowadays? In Canada I bet illegal raves were extremely rare. I remember in 2007 or so they did an outdoor one on a beach somewhere but I didn't go since it required a car and it was very cold on that night. Not sure it was legal or not lol, but it would definitively have been fun. Nowadays in Quebec City we sometimes have that thing called Le Hangar, but it never happens at the same location and happens like twice a year at random dates. Plus all they play is American electro/house and dubstep, no actual hardcore/rave music.

That said, dubstep concerts can be fun for their mosh pits over here :P
