Technically it's already using sprites, they're just 1x1 white pixel sprites scaled/colored as needed. (I may have been a little lazy while writing the library it uses for graphics). But anyways it's all hardware accelerated opengl type stuff.

If those other terminals have a solarized dark colorscheme built in I might consider them... Otherwise, no, cause that's why I like the xfce terminal so much :P.
And yes vim in terminal is best, except if you want to use a full RGB color scheme without messing with terminal colors (which is what I do). That's when the hotkey terminal comes in, so you use that instead of ctrl-z.
I literally just learned about and installed yaourt a few days ago, so no idea if it's the best. Easier than manually downloading package tarballs though! I'll have to try Aura when I get home.

That would rule. :D Are you making all your graphics from scratch or do you plan to re-use some from this game?
For the most part I'm going to be drawing them all myself, but basing them off the originals. I have to draw them myself to get them looking halfway decent because I'm going with low color palettes (4 or 16 color for most of it) so it doesn't just eat up tons of space.

Hopefully it'll start to look more something like this as I work on it

Going to switch the mp3 decoder to a pure javascript decoder so I can gurantee support mp3 in all browsers and also have better control over timing. Then I want to make it actually accept user input to play it. Later I want to implement the standard osu game mode (the one with the circles and sliders everywhere), and also play back game replays from other people's plays in the actual osu game client.

Web / HTML5 osu!mania (and later osu! standard)
December 02, 2014, 02:01:40 AM
This is a thing I'm actually really excited about.
I'm implementing osu!mania to run in a web browesr, including loading actual osu!mania maps. If you don't know what osu!mania is, think guitar hero but it goes up to 8 keys.
Anyways, enough chit chat, here's links:
http://z80.ukl.me/dartmania/dartmania.html
Please use chrome to view it right now because stuff seems to get out of sync for me in firefox. I'll be fixing that soon :)

NEW VERSION: http://z80.ukl.me/webmania/

If it doesn't work for you, here's youtube:

It's called dart!mania because I'm writing it in the dart language. I'll post source later when it works better.

They told me I should make posts for my calc projects, so I did :)
Long story short I made 2048 for the CSE a few weeks ago, it has auto saves/loading, high scores, actually detects when you lose and tells you, goes up to 8192 I think tiles wise.

You can download it here:
http://www.cemetech.net/programs/index.php?mode=file&id=1190
You'll also need DoorsCSE 8.1
http://www.cemetech.net/programs/index.php?mode=file&id=960

Source is included with the download link, or alternatively on Github

Install the xfce terminal ( pacman -S xfce4-terminal ) because it's seriously the best terminal emulator there is
Also get guake for f12 dropdown terminal
vim/gvim (dont kill me emacs users)
custom icon theme (I use https://github.com/sixsixfive/ivy)
Don't forget to install Arial (and other MS fonts with it: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/ttf-ms-fonts/ ) or like half the internet breaks if you open a web browser.
get yaourt so AUR stuff is easier: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/yaourt/ it's like pacman for AUR

Yup, Linux all the way! Been using it as my main OS for over a year now I'm happy to say.
As for peggle, I don't have a thread about it since I've been focusing on putting pretty things on screen rather than gameplay (also lots of math code). You can have a picture though :)

EDIT:
Streetwalrus the binary in your signature is literally worse than hitler :P

Hi I'm told I should totally post here and stuff...
Anyways I program calculators and computers and stuff, and I play way too much osu! and post videos about it on youtube. Also I seem to write extremely long and drawn-out posts for topics that don't necessarily require it because wooooo typing. Oh yeah I do CSE stuff, I made an ASM 2048 clone and snake game, and working on peggle off and on right now.
Oh and you should totally go here http://potc.unknownloner.com/ because prelude of the chambered is cool, and playing it without java is cooler :P
