So apparently the thing to do is to just create a general post for all your moosics, and since I love to shamelessly whore get feedback on my moosics, I'll post stuff here if I like it and it's longer than 30 seconds / longer than 8 measures (or is it bars? I can never remember). I make a ton of loops that I like but aren't really very well developed ideas at all, so why waste space posting them.

To start off here's a synthwavey thing I made earlier today which I think I can develop into a full track once I get time to sit down in FL. This was just a quick sketch in Caustic on my phone though. I especially like the second half.

Also here's a stream I did awhile ago if you're into that sorta thang. I think it ends up sounding pretty neat. There's other recordings on my channel too, but I haven't been able to stream regularly yet  :-\.

Don't be insulted if it takes me awhile to reply to stuff. As people like @DJ Omnimaga know, I'm really bad at using forums regularly. I do get email notifications tho, so that helps.

Site Discussion & Bug Reports / Matrix relay for IRC
December 02, 2016, 07:03:27 PM
It'd be cool to have a relay between matrix and the IRC channel I think. This post is for discussion of the idea.

If you don't know what matrix is:
https://matrix.org

This would probably be the easiest thing to use to write it, because JS:
https://github.com/matrix-org/matrix-js-sdk

Also, Sorunome tells me that if it was written in python it could plug in to omnomirc, so this might be relevant too:
https://github.com/matrix-org/matrix-python-sdk

It'd be cooler to bridge the entirety of efnet, but I don't feel like trying to get the OK from the efnet server operators to do that. A simple 1-channel relay would fit with what we're already doing in the CW channel.

Wow, it's been awhile since I've posted anything  :-\. Truth be told it's also been awhile since I've had anything worth posting! I'm trying to get back to creating stuff though, taking another stab at music specifically.

Long story short I'm trying to learn how to make drum and bass for a school project, and I'd love some feedback on what I've got so far (especially if DnB is your thing). It's kinda on the chill side.

It's just a small clip as I was only working on it a few hours tonight, but yeah lemme know what you think.

I'm learning how to use FL Studiooooooooooo I guess.
I figured covering an existing song would be easy, turns out it's a bit more complex than I expected

anyways SO FAR so good:

I gotta go get a halfway decent kick and snare that matches the feel of the original before I do the rest of the song though.
Going to try and record the vocals myself rather than using the originals, which, if you know the original you could guess, should be interesting...

General Music Talk / Oscilloscope Music
June 14, 2015, 01:27:39 AM
This guy's doing a kickstarter to make an album of music that looks cool on an oscilloscope
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1230242223/oscilloscope-music

here's some examples:

I think it's really neat which is why I'm posting :P

There's already sudoku games out there for the CSE, but I felt like making one in assembly for funs, as a quick break from doing stuff with my

Anyways, I've got some code from an old attempt I might re-use, not sure yet, but right now I'm just generating puzzles.
I wrote a puzzle generator in haskell to see if I could do it, and it works pretty well, so I'm letting that run for a bit.

As much as I'd like to generate puzzles on the CSE, it turns out proper puzzle generation can be a bit processor heavy. Instead, I'm going to focus on making the core of the game small/lightweight, and then (if I have enough puzzles) release a few packs as either different programs, or a collection of appvars. Really it just depends on how compressible the puzzle data ends up being.

Screenshots tomorrow maybe if I get any coding done. And by tomorrow I mean today, I'm going to sleep right now @ 6 A.M.

Drawing & Animation / Clone Invasion
February 23, 2015, 01:44:03 AM
I was trying to work on a game idea involving sheep and wolves, and this happened instead.

All Dart (compiled to javascript) & WebGL.
If it doesn't work your browser probably doesn't support WebGL, Sorry! You can find a still screenshot in the spoiler below anyhow.

I've started to try and learn what FL Studio can do recently, and learn how to music too.

Here's my first shot at something more than 5 seconds

PC, Mac & Vintage Computers / Haskell Audio Synthesizer
January 20, 2015, 06:56:03 AM
I decided I wanted to learn the ins and outs of how audio actually works, and figured I could get some more experience with Haskell at the same time.
Anyhow, here's some code
https://github.com/unknownloner/HaskellSynth

And some sample output (though it's pretty easy to modify it to play something else)

It's not exactly the most sophisticated synthesizer, but it's something, and is kinda neat to play with it.
I've got basic tones playing, but I want to create an Attack-Decay-Sustain-Release envelope so I can have proper notes. I also want to actually learn more about how sound works so I can create more interesting sounds, like some of the stuff you hear in more modern electronic music, because I still have no idea how :P
I also want to be able to read midi files, and handle the Note On/Note Off events to play an existing midi file.

Gaming / some osu! beatmaps
January 20, 2015, 04:59:36 AM
I've been spending a lot of time making osu! maps recently, figured I'd make a post for some of my favorites for anyone interested. Some of these maps are fairly difficult, at least for me, though they're also mostly incomplete right now. Generally the videos are auto-play rather than me playing, just because me playing isn't the best representation of the maps when I can't get an S rank.
Anyone else whose a mapper, feel free to contribute some maps :D
Also, if anyone wants to request a map, feel free, as I might be able to map it. Just know that the shorter it is, the more likely I am to actually finish it :P

Each of theses has a DL link if available and/or a spoiler containing a video
Oh also you might want to turn down your volume before watching any videos if it's set a little high :)

Minor note on this map, there's a version I uploaded to the official osu! site ages ago, but it's not updated so don't go after that one.

Drawing & Animation / Vinyl Scratch osu! skin
December 31, 2014, 12:05:20 PM
Got bored of what existing osu! skins there are, so I figured I'd try my hand at making one and see how it goes. For those not aware, an osu! 'skin' allows you to customize the way the entire game looks pretty much. Almost every UI and game element is themeable. If you're not even sure what 'osu!' is, go HERE!

I decided to go with a skin based on Vinyl Scratch because I figure osu! is a rhythm game, so it makes sense to go with a music pony. I'm sure there's probably already some Vinyl skin out there, but I want to try and make my own regardless. I'm going for sort-of a neon glow look for the UI and text, but I'm trying not to go overboard with it, so I'm not making all the game elements glow or anything like that.

As I'm not exactly an artist, this thing includes many vectors shamelessly stolen borrowed from other artists. I'm also not exactly a designer, so if anything seems to go against basic rules of 'making things look good' lemme know!

Suggestions for improvements / ideas for how to skin different UI elements welcome. I'm especially trying to figure out what to do for the game modifier settings, because each one has it's own icon. (by mods I mean these).

Lots of screenshots, so spoilers ahoy so they don't eat the screen

Other / Merry Christmas!
December 25, 2014, 11:17:03 AM
Merry christmas, happy <insert your favorite holiday here>, etc!
About to go to sleep on christmas eve (at 6 AM because... reasons), hoping to find a TI-84+CSE tomorrow. We shall see...
Also my friend posted a video which inspired me to make this, so have an osu! video

Post cool holiday related things here I guess!

Not sure if this is the right section for this (though it is a calc project), but anyways, I started messing with hardcoding stuff for mobiletunes since the midi converter was dying on my midis, and also since it gives me an opportunity to practice reading sheet music and stuff I guess (I've never really had a reason to read sheet music, so I'm really slow at it right now).

Anyhow, starting off with something a few of you might know. There's not a whole lot to it right now, but I need sleep so I'll have to work on it later.

Who knows, maybe some day I'll actually create my own original composition. I'm having fun just converting existing music right now though, so gonna stick with it.

Web / HTML5 osu!mania (and later osu! standard)
December 02, 2014, 02:01:40 AM
This is a thing I'm actually really excited about.
I'm implementing osu!mania to run in a web browesr, including loading actual osu!mania maps. If you don't know what osu!mania is, think guitar hero but it goes up to 8 keys.
Anyways, enough chit chat, here's links:
http://z80.ukl.me/dartmania/dartmania.html
Please use chrome to view it right now because stuff seems to get out of sync for me in firefox. I'll be fixing that soon :)

NEW VERSION: http://z80.ukl.me/webmania/

If it doesn't work for you, here's youtube:

It's called dart!mania because I'm writing it in the dart language. I'll post source later when it works better.

They told me I should make posts for my calc projects, so I did :)
Long story short I made 2048 for the CSE a few weeks ago, it has auto saves/loading, high scores, actually detects when you lose and tells you, goes up to 8192 I think tiles wise.

You can download it here:
http://www.cemetech.net/programs/index.php?mode=file&id=1190
You'll also need DoorsCSE 8.1
http://www.cemetech.net/programs/index.php?mode=file&id=960

Source is included with the download link, or alternatively on Github
