It doesn't. The CE screen works very differently anyway.

Oh.
But would you make a Dark Link Quest with your Textlib findings, or would it be in xLIBCE because it's really fast and can look pretty?

It seems to me that xLIBCE and Doors CE will be available soon due to the progress update's I've seen, so maybe you want to wait until those come out?

That would be possible, given how fast walking is, but enemies would look very simple, much like the main character. And yeah, I agree with 123outerme, unless somehow DCE9 progress slows down considerably in the near future. By the time FFII is done, DCE9 will most likely be out already anyway.

Yeah, I remember hearing on Cemetech that there's been a whole lot of progress lately, and that it might be ready for some public test builds soon.

It all depends on both Kerm and tr1p1ea's real life, though. Both can be extremely busy and not always at the same time. That can add further delays, so we have to be patient. Who knows? Maybe I'll have time to do another CE Textlib game using my engine before, though. :P

Or after. People still made good basic games even after Axe was created. :P

Indeed. I still remember Ztrumpet stuff. Some people either wanted to continue pushing the limits of TI-BASIC or found Axe too difficult for the type of games they wanted to make. I still want to do the former on monochrome calculators actually, which is why I had planned to use my old dual-layer ASCII engine for First Fantasy II monochrome (all sprites would be different and even the rooms layout, but in general the game would have the same layout and stuff)

There is already a screenshot from 2012 for the engine I would use. It's on Omni somewhere. I would have to look it up later.

I'd love to see it, and know what you're thinking of changing. :)

I don't think that a lot would change except the map. But again, I might actually re-use that map for First Fantasy II CE too. :P It's mostly the layout that would change.
