As you may know, video games over composite gets blurred a lot.
Of course, some video games took advantage of this to add new colors (look at some CGA DOS games over composite).

The problem is that i can't find a specific filter to mimic that effect, other than the blur function but it does not mimic
the rainbow effects associated with composite.

Any ideas how i can achieve this ?
I'm working on a Colecovision game and some of my images in-game are very grainy.
I'm curious to see how Composite output renders them.

spounds like a typically weird hardware thingy, so I doubt theres any way to really simulate this, other than just getting the same hardware... :/

Well, i'm pretty sure it must exist because libretro has GLSL shaders that can mimic the gameboy's LCD screen and Kega Fusion also has a filter called "TV mode" that imitates composite output.
However, i can't find such a filter for GIMP or even Photoshop.

u might want to try alternative software like Paint.Net as well (a few thousand mods for it). Maybe u find something there :)

Sadly, Googling turned to nothing... :(
Maybe it's called something else

If anyone knows anything about GLSL shaders its @Snektron :)

I think some retro style games used such filter before, but the problem is that most games and emulators that did just use fake scanlines that don't move, so it looks so fake.
