to me that counts as "cheap metal"... <_<
0.5mm brushed aluminium on the top so it looks fancy and the rest plastic... :P that's the laptop I'm working at right now ^^ (not mine, belongs to the office)

btw there was a video somewhere of one of the new macbook pros doing a 100feet droptest... all the metal was bent but it was still working O.O only the screen broke xD

MacBooks are made of machined aluminium, they literally take a block and cut it out to make the case in a single piece (well, three, main body, bottom lid and screen lid). That kind of construction makes them extremely solid, that's why it survived the drop. Sadly aluminium is not scratch proof.

I don't really have a case to recommend. I own a Zalman z11 plus, which is pretty good, build is solid (steel and strong plastic), but I've never been a fan of the way it looks. The only reason why I bought it is it was fairly inexpensive (around 60 euros) with a good feature set and it's pretty popular.

would you guys recommend glueing old nokia phones together to form some sort of super-case?  9_9
And is apple still the only one doing that...?

Ugh, I hate apple computers, now their tablets are okay...

But, they probably won't glue phones together.  :blah:

Razer also makes unibody aluminium laptops, which are as expensive but run windows and don't have all the other magic apple puts into their hardware.
