I never had the chance to try it myself. It seemed kinda fun and old school. We did have some computers in elementary school that could use CGA, though.

Wow, that game looks old school O.O. I remember playing games in 4 colors like this (cyan, magenta, white and black) but no adventure game. Also @JamesV was making a similar game for the 84+CE but I don't know if he's still into calc stuff nowadays. It would be cool if he added a CGA mode, just for kicks. :D

Indeed - Zargul is inspired directly by Eye of the Beholder, even though admittedly I've not played EotB a great deal.

I am still working on calc stuff.. Just slowly :( Although the last few weeks I've been spending more time on a new project :)

Ah ok. Back then there were a lot of similar games of the same style. :)

Fwiw EotB did support more proper colors.

I'm way too young to have known the XT, all I know is that the legacy cruft left by the IBM PC is a horrible plague for modern systems. :P

@Streetwalrus JamesV is porting this game to the CE kinda. Or at least he's re-using some of the graphics. The character UI looks identical. I don,t know what happened to it, though.

@Streetwalrus @DJ Omnimaga It's still on my to-do list. It's an EotB style game using the graphics, but I had a different story planned with different levels and was going to add my own touch to the game play, etc.

I think you meant to mention @kotu. :P

I don't have a CE myself, and I don't really intend to get one for now, but I'll still wish you the best James. I should give your 83+/84+ Alien Breed games a try sometime instead. And make Illusiat happen. Been a while since I've messed with calculators.

Dream of Omnimaga

Street I was mentioning you since you posted that screenshot. :P

And yeah I agree about Illusiat :3=
