I know that many programmers hate Game Maker and are against the use of it, but we are not in North Korea, meaning we can make games the way we want without verbal retaliation. Anyway the reason why I am bringing Game Maker up is that it has a major flaw in terms of how much it costs: While developing games for the PC is not very expensive (or even free with some versions), a license to develop Android, iOS and HTML5 games costed $500+ each.

However, for the next two weeks, this is no longer a major issue, because on Humble Bundle, you can now get every license for only $15 (or more if you decide to pay more). O.O

I just thought I would share this for those who happens to be more into that type of engine (maybe @kegwaan  or @James Oldiges ?) but balked away at the $500 Android license.

Whoa! I didn't see this. This is awesome though. I've only been able to play around with the free version which only has Windows exports and is missing a lot of features. Now though, I think I'm gonna get it. Thanks for spreading the news!

@DJ Omnimaga  I already have the Android licence from the last bundle.

I have a spare Android and Pro edition key if you or anyone you know wants them :)

I have every module now~!

By the way, back in the days, the free version only missed 3D capabilities and had a crappy splash screen ad. I didn't mind the lack of 3D but the ad annoyed me a bit. But I forgot what is now included. Either way I am happy I could get every license for cheap. I need to learn how to use GM to do tilemaps, though.

I remember, I owned GM3(?) and GM8 at one point.

There is a new version comming out next year, so they are trying to give the community a boost.

I never really minded the ad in early versions, since the splash was basically just what it showed while loading your game. The lack of 3D was indeed not that bad at all, since the 3D support of GameMaker in those days was absolutely terrible (It used a terribly outdated renderer with poor performance, pretty much no animation support unless you used a different model for each frame, very limited lighting (iirc up to 8 point lights, 1 directional light and no shadows), and no shader support (but you did have a simple fog effect).

Tilemaps are really easy to do, I've used them before, but years ago and in an earlier version. Check out the official tutorials, there used to be a good one about tilemapping there.

Darn, I bet some people probably felt ripped off if 3D support was that bad and that they expected a full 3D engine. I'll have to check the tutorials for tilemapping at some point.

Does the $15 include the TI-85 version?

Dream of Omnimaga

Nope D:

Which reminds me, there is an RPG Maker style program for the TI-83 and 83 Plus, but I think it requires Dosbox to run properly on anything above Windows 98.

On a side note, I wonder if this version still includes the 1945 shoot-em-up as a demo?

This time it's Clickteam Fusion turn to make it on Humble Bundle: https://www.humblebundle.com/clickteam-fusion-bundle

Not sure if it's related to Multimedia Fusion but Crystal Towers 2 was made with Multimedia Fusion,

This is not Game Maker, but still somewhat related: RPG Maker 2003 can now be legally purchased in English, on Steam. It's a long overdue, after 13 years. Apparently, some bugs were fixed and it should have less issues on Windows Vista and higher, especially in full-screen, but some old issues might still remain:

So those who want to use RPG Maker but are turned off by the non-16-bits resolution might be interested. IIRC, font issues are also solved.
