Yeah i myself have one of those, but she didn't even have a data bundle. The provider just doesn't lock it when you don't have data, but you still can turn data on. For extra costs, of course.

That's why I prefer unlimited (but capped after an amount) or blocked pacakges. (Once you ran out of data, you're out of interblag)

Yeah same, or at least with a $$$ limit, like me with $50. If I exceed my bandwidth cap, they can't charge me more than $50 extra. I can change the limit too if I really need more data.

If I had kids they wouldn't get a phone until they are responsible enough and even then their data would be capped too so they can't rack up my bill.

Sadly, some companies refuse to offer limits or disable data after exceeding it, so that they can make extra money from unsuspecting customers and parents.

Not sure, it could either be a troll, former community member or maybe a fake user like the Hays Games, NPO or PsychoCorp groups.

There were some rather odd events and posts in the community a decade ago , the most notable one being on page 6 or 7 of http://www.ticalc.org/archives/news/articles/11/115/115018.html (in all-caps). @Art_of_camelot , @Juju and @aeTIos probably also remembers that Verdant guy (who had like 9 different forum accounts with -69 downvotes each)

Was Verdant Bwang's brother? I seem to remember him making multiple accounts and ban evading to troll.Thought I think after the first they might've been name differently? I remember the name Verdant, but I can't seem to remember multiple accounts named Verdant. Though you have a much better memory with these things than I do @DJ Omnimaga .
