Reuben Quest: Lost Between Times

I had some kind of blue flickering in the emulator, but no crashes or lags. So it whould work fine

(These problems seem to only appear in emulators).

How are you supposed to beat the enemies in the forest without having to go back to the save point after every single battle?

(I got the stick and a bottle)

EDIT: Nvm I just needed to get to level 6 apparently

(I swear I could beat the spider earlier before?)

reubenquest pretty much forces you to levelup before advancing, o simply runnign through the game wont work. The switches in the foret do a pretty good job at that

Yeah but I recall beating the spider boss at like level 4 or 5 during my first playthrough lol. My main issue though is more having to backtrack to the save point after every single battle until I reach level 3 (Reuben 1 kinda had this issue but the save was directly inside the first battle screen so it just took 1 second to reach

). Anyway I now have two bottles, although I didn't play in a while now. I'm in the king's castle now and learned attack speed once.

I remember in the beta when the endboss (not spoilering anyone) was way too fast thanks to a bug and it was nearly impossible to defeat him xD

I may have adjusted the leveling a bit, i'm not sure

Which reminds me, I think the last time two calculator RPGs came out within a month span was when the original versions of Reuben Quest 1 and 2 came out in Dec 2004 and Jan 2005

I only had that bug happen when I had some part of my RAM corrupted or rarely after saving, exiting and relaunching the game (without a RAM clear before relaunch)
Anyway... It almost definitely has something to do with bad saves. It only triggers when loading a game.

By the way, you can play this game in color online (at a slightly smaller screen resolution) via the Gamebuino Meta emulator at https://gamebuino.com/creations/reuben-quest-lost-between-times . I don't know if the emulator can save, though.
