Pimath I think it depends of the quantity of geek-related stuff that you like, seriously. I am betting that some people are just causal fans of most geek stuff, but they are extraverted, spend a lot of time going out and like other non-geek hobbies as well (eg cars), but because they like so many sci-fi/adventure movies, many video games in the list and some anime, they still rack up their scores. Not to mention some people might have checked boxes of stuff they used to like but no longer care as much about. I myself consider myself as quite geek, but since my geek interests are almost only centered around video games and pixel art, my score is that low.

Yeah the thing is that to score high, you have to be into a very large variety of geek-related topics. In my case, my geekiness is limited to just a few themes, such as video games, not Star Trek, marvel comics, rubik cubes nor Toklien.
Not Tolkien?!
:O

I think I'm too big of a Tolkien fan (my avatar and sig)
The books are too long. I get bored from any book longer than 400 pages. This is the same reason why after the 4th Harry Potter book I switched to the movies.

I personally prefered going with the LOTR and Hobbit movies instead of books for that reason. Btw I love LOTR :D

I'm surprised there were no Star Gate related entries.
Same, that used to be 50% of the geek conversations on Cemetech way back in the days.

The LOTR movies were... slightly modified from the books.

Most people call the movies butchered, but I like the battle scenes :P

Here's a list of Tolkien books I've read:
The Hobbit
LOTR: all three (FOTR,TTT,ROTK)
The Silmarillion
Unfinished tales of Numenor and Middle Earth
I'm a bit of a Tolkien (books) addict :P

Slight off topic: I found this a few weeks ago on youtube (Tolkien related)

Yeah the issue with movies is that they're shorter so they had to cut down some stuff. And lol at the vid. XD

That would probably be like certain TV shows I guess. The issue is that sometimes it might drag on for too long so a battle you would expect in the next episode would end up occuring 10 episodes later.

At least it would not be repetitive like American soap opera TV shows, though. I think some of those ran for over 10000 episodes.

I love books personally. Haven't seen lotr movies but I read the books. As for Harry Potter most of the movies weren't even good, while I absolutely looooved the books.
