Eh, it no longer shutdown that much nowadays. Except I have to start it in Single-User Mode so it skips whatever making it shutdown.
Ah ok, I'm glad it doesn't as much anymore. But sometimes electronics do that. They'll show signs of troubles, then start working fine again for a while before finally going poof.

@DarkestEx that's a lot of hardware! O.O Also I wonder if Xeon processors are good? I mean, how do they compare with an Intel Core i3, i5 or i7, for example?

Xeon processors are the highest tier at Intel, often used on headless servers, where you need performance to handle a lot of stuff at the same time, as opposed to Atom, which is pretty much for low-energy netbooks and other lowest-tier laptops, often when an ARM chip will do the job but you want Windows.

Ah ok. I wasn't sure because of people saying Atom ones weren't great or something. So I thought Xeon was another low-end tier.

I've now got an ASUS 970 pro gaming/aura motherboard since my last one sparked and started burning o.o. Luckily none of my other components were damaged,
but i had to replace it. I had to reinstall windows because it was still using the drivers for my old motherboard which ofcourse wouldn't work. Which also meant that i had to move all my data on my main ssd to make room to change from mbr to gpt.

Desktop:
Dell Inspiron 620
OS - Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
Motherboard - Intel® Pentium® Processor G630
Graphics - Intel® HD
Memory - 4GB
Hard Drive - 1TB
Monitor - Currently using a Dynex 32" HDTV as my monitor (using VGA wire instead of a HDMI cable cause with HDMI, within 5 minutes staring at the screen and i wind up with a migrain... no way to turn off the backlight of the TV when the HDMI is connected) Ubuntu detects it as a "priva hortimation bv 32" though, which is odd.
Resolution - 1360x768 (highest it can go)

Not the most "advance" computer, but it suits my needs  :P

CMG do you have any access to Windows? I am curious if you ever had any luck running MTVMG and Music 2002 without them randomly crashing? MTVMG crashed every 30 second for me

Over the years using Music2000/MTVMusicGenerator on windows, i've come to the conclusion that it is one of those pc games that is caught between a rock and a hard place on Windows OS... It doesn't need MSDOS to function, but yet deteriorates in quality with any new Windows release.  When I used to have WinXP I had little to no problems using the program.  However, it started giving me more issues on Win7.  You're best (and only) bet is to fool around with the "Compatibility" tab when you right click the game icon and go to properties.  Since the game was made for Win95/98/2000, start there, and then work your way forward.  Whichever one handles better, use that as your setting for the game.

Since I'm using Linux, I'm using "CrossOver" to play any Windows PC games I have, and Music2000/MTVMusicGenerator gives me no issues on that.

Yuki

Yeah, Wine is pretty great for running most old Windows software on Linux, maybe even better than the newest Windowses.

For some reasons I never got the compatibility mode to do anything at all on any Windows OS I ran. The only thing that ever helped me was run as admin for other programs.
