So it has been a long while since we last made any updates to the featured projects section, and I feel that some newer projects might deserve a spot there. However, to avoid cluttering the place, I was considering movinng some of the inactive or finished projects in the calc projects sub-forum, along with Herocore, in a new section there.

Do you think, however, that notable finished projects should remain where they are, though? For example, First Fantasy was supposed to have sequels, but they're dormant for now, although the first game was completed. Also, I know that the home of certain projects is primarily Cemetech or TI-Planet, so most updates will continue getting posted there, but my goal here is giving very notable projects the visibility they deserve, so would people like @MateoConLechuga , @Adriweb or other users primarily from other sites mind if their projects also got sub-forums (for example, a C libs/SDK/toolchain sub-forum or a multi-project sub-forum that also includes CEmu and the TI-Planet project builder)?

Also this would mean that both KnightOS and Mineprime would get moved to the same section where Herocore is and marked as inactive, unless @Snektron @aeTIos or @Streetwalrus is aware of any upcoming development on KOS.

I am primarily on Cemetech, but I don't really have any important (muchless noteworthy) projects that deserve a topic on CW...  :'(  :'(   :'(

I think it's a good idea.
I haven't been following knightos, but I know it basically makes a bit of progress every few months when sircmpwn feels like working on it. Overall it's going really slowly and I doubt it'll ever be any good.

I bet it could become good but at the rate it's going, version 1.0 will come out in 2078 >.<. My issue regarding the sub-forum is not really how long it will take to be completed, though, but rather the fact that I'm not really interested in keeping a sub-forum located in the featured projects section if nobody is gonna use it to post updates. Same reason why I'm considering moving my own First Fantasy sub-forum as well (although in my case it's more a product than a project at this point)

Featured project boards that are not active (KOS) or finished (Final Fantasy) should be moved and become subfora to a new "finished/discontinued" subforum; similar to what omnimaga has. So basically like this:

Main Forum ->
    Features projects ->
       Sorcery of Uvatu forum
       Ninja Byte forum
       Ect. forum
       Finished / discontinued ->
           First Fantasy forum
           KOS forum

"Discontinued" wouldn't really mean that the project was never finished, but that releases had been made and there simply isn't any new work on the project.

gib me supforum plox

I think it would be good to differentiate between finished and discontinued.

What I mean is, KOS isn't technically finished, but at the same time there's always more to add to an OS. Like an RPG or something with only 50% of the story programmed in is "unfinished" and not really playable, while KOS has been usable for a long time (I remember when the first topic about KOS was posted on ticalc was made); Therefore its technically finished. ;)

Edit: to clarify in more precise terms, if something had a non-alpha/beta release, and then progress stopped, there was technically an official release, so even though it is discontinued, it's still finished.
While something that never got past alpha or even any release is unfinished.

I agree with that 100% :)

I would still recommend 2 separate sections: one for finished and one for discontinued.

I would definitely put KOS in the finished category.

Generally I put the project status in the subforum title, but I could definitively make new separate categories
