Various existing games, such as This is the Only Level, Androides, Billybox, Mandragore, Bejeweled, Flappy Bird, Pac-Man and Pac-Attack, were also ported to TI calculators by our users and various retro gaming console emulators (SNES, Turbografx-16, Sega Genesis, Master System, etc) were released for the TI-Nspire CX.
Aside from game development, our participating forum users have released notable tools such as ICE Compiler, Houstontracker 2, CEmu, the C SDK and Libraries for the CE. We also have our share of musicians and pixel artists as well, along with a massive database of MTV Music Generator series songs from the remains of TIMGUL.
A lot of new projects are also active in the development section, ranging from new games to programming utilities and 3D engines, so expect new releases at any moment. Make sure to visit the authors' topics to voice your suggestions and encouragements!
We intend to provide a friendly place to discuss your favorite topics, to hang out and to showcase your projects and releases, so hopefully you feel at home here. Registration is free and only takes a few seconds!

This contest's topic is animation/animating, especially of the 8-bit variety. To be eligible for a prize, you must make a program or create an IRL creation that involves animation/animating, and topic showing your progress, with the "[UCC2]" tag in the title
The contest will end on October 14 at 11:59:59 EDT (hopefully on-time). No late entries will be accepted.
If you choose to make an IRL creation, you might want to create a video describing your project and its features.
If you choose to make a program, for any platform/language, you cannot
release source until after the contest, to avoid plagiarism.
*keep your entry SFW, please*
Note: due to the laws of the universe, it is not possible to contribute an entry if you are dead. Sorry.
You will be judged on these criteria, although your entry can be penalized at the discretion of the judges, to some extent:
- overall project detail and completeness, including functionality and design.
- interaction with other users, including the reception and distribution of feedback.
- overall ingenuity.
- number of walruses involved (just kidding, this will not affect your score)
Contest judges (i.e. me, but you can request to be one if you have over 100 posts, just ask in this thread. Only 2 more judges will be accepted.) are not allowed to participate, and cannot win prizes.
As for prizes, printable walrus "diplomas" will be issued to the top three winners, signed by the contest judges under their usernames. (If you are accepted as a judge, PM me a pic of your signature, signing as your username)
Neither myself; the contest judges; the CodeWalrus site, admins and users; or contest participants are liable for any damage or legal s*** you come up with
The opinions expressed by the judges in the choosing of a winner may not represent the entire views of the CodeWalrus community or admins.
All decisions are final
If you have any questions about this do not be afraid to ask in this thread!

Just a little reminder that your favourite website (I mean, this one right?) exist thanks to donations from our members, and so far it works quite well. We have a bunch of ways you can contribute, namely the ads below the site logo (click on the "your ad here" to, well, put your ad there) or directly on PayPal by clicking on this link
. Or if you're from Québec City, Canada, our record label is also working into releasing DJ Omnimaga's discography to the four Sunrise Records stores of the region! How cool is that?
Goal for this month is about $35 USD, since we have domain name renewals this month too, but if we get more money in an usual month, we might give out fancier contest prizes and also other goodies we might not give you with the usual $15/month operating budget.
So, the more you give out, the more you get back! I hope we'll be a lot to help the

With that lame-duck year at my old work place being almost over, I am announcing that I am returning to staff at 4:45 PM. I will be part of the moderator and forum maintenance group.
We will also have two new staff in the near future.
Since we will have at least one moderator again, we would also like to remind members to not use the forums and chatroom while under the influence of alcohol and drugs or without receiving proper treatment for any disability unless they are 100% guaranteed to remain in full control of themselves . Each user is responsible for what happens with their user account.

Linux is coming to the Prime.
It should have been there a long time; the chip it runs on, the S3C2416, has been supported for a long time. Recently gaining access to tools for jtag, I decided I would go and connect things up, not realizing that the newer revision of Prime didn't even have jatag pins broken out on the front of the board. I bought a prime, and started working.
Tonight, I got up and running with a shell. There's nothing else here but the shell, actually, and many things don't work. But I got the LCD and serial port working, which is easily enough to test with.
Here's a picture of the shell up and running on tty0:
The sources can be found on my github:linuxripem build with loaderqemu for Prime
Since I don't have a good setup for the initramfs running right now, I'm going to figure out how to get buildroot up and running. As long as I'm not too busy with school, I'll figure out how to make a keyboard driver and get the rest of the theoretically working platform drivers (usb, touchscreen) working. If anyone wants to help, go ahead!
