Topics - Dream of Omnimaga

#651
This is version 1.00 of the Illusiat package. Originally written in 2004, some updates were made in 2013. It includes all the Illusiat RPG series (except Illusiat 4, which was completely lost in 2002, with no way to restart from scratch). Even the TI-81 remake (and its cross-Z80 ports), the Illusiat 2004 remakes and the unfinished Illusiat 13 from 2009 are included! The only thing that is not included in the ticalc.org copy of the package is the PC version of Illusiat 5 (which is 1.5 MB large). Late in 2004, The Reign of Legends series made success at ticalc.org as well as The Legend of Zelda: Dark Link Quest. However, you might not know it, but The Reign of Legends series is not the first one from Omnimaga. With this package, you can now experience the series that introduced the world of Omnimaga: Illusiat! Every game in the series except Illusiat 5 features 1 on 1 turn-based RPG battles, long dungeons to explore, side quests, many secrets, and more. Of course the first games of the series are simpler, but past Illusiat 6 it just gets better. Of course, remember that most of those games were made over a decade ago, while Illusiat 13 tries to stick to Illusiat 12 style, so the graphics are ASCII art for the most part.

Reuben Quest is a game that is quite hard to classify due to it's variety. I like to say it's a puzzle game because you have to explore to find items to advance in your quest and sometimes you have to solve riddles. Sometimes, you may have to explore at the same place for a while to figure out that something actually do something :). However, I also like to say that it's a RPG too because as you wander around you have to fight powerful creatures to get strong enough to face more powerful foes and you can interact with NPCs (non-player characters) to get clues. So basicaly it's should be classified as a puzzle-RPG :). This might satisfy people regardless of if they like puzzle or role-playing game! Also, exploring Reuben world and fighting all the awesome looking creatures roaming around will satisfy your eyes a lot because the entire game is in grayscale!!!!!!!!! With the help of Omnicalc and other ASM libraries, this game will change TI-BASIC language forever. All you need is a TI-83+ Silver Edition, a TI-84+ or a TI-84+ Silver Edition calculator (for speed a regular 83+ isn't recommended) with all your RAM and 60 KB of archive memory then you just have to sit down to enter a world filled with mysteries, challenges and revolutionnary graphics. The sequel includes everything that the original game had to offer like the flickerless grayscale graphics and the many secrets plus new stuff like more complex puzzles, more monsters, many plot twists, viewing inside houses, cutting plants, pushing blocks, destroy blocks and more! All you need is a TI-83+ Silver Edition, a TI-84+ or a TI-84+ Silver Edition calculator (for speed a regular 83+ isn't recommended) with all your RAM and 120 KB of archive memory then you just have to sit down to enter another world filled with surprises, mysteries, challenges and revolutionnary graphics.

Calculator News, Coding, Help & Talk / HCWP GMT Edition
December 01, 2014, 07:56:02 AM
So as many of you probably know if you frequent Cemetech, they have that thing called Have Calc? Will Program!, refered to as HCWP. It starts at 8 PM (20:00) New York time on every Wednesday night. It's a Google Hangout-based voice/video chat conference where Cemetech members usually showcases their calculator projects and programming or discuss calculators in general. Some discoveries and achievements are sometimes showcased there first.

However, recently, there have been a new trend where at 8 PM GMT (5 hours earlier), Omnimaga users coming mostly from Europe uses the video conference room to hang out and there are some calc stuff showcased there too. I think somebody once refered to it as HCWP GMT or HCWP 8PM GMT.

I thought I would let people here know because in many occasions, we are at least 4 CodeWalrus members. Just try to not leak the entire site and stuff like what almost happened once, though. :P

I'll probably try to see if I still have a webcam somewhere at one point or a working mic headset, but I usually don't use headphones for long because they hurt my neck due to the extra weight.

Other / The funny quote thread (NSFW)
December 01, 2014, 06:17:45 AM
Ok so I think it's time for a quote topic. Unfortunately, I don't have access to my old Telegram logs from before this site started, so quotes from the Telegram Codewalrus group will have to be shared by other staff. But here is something from the hidden staff sub-forum that absolutely has to be shared:

Quote from: Streetwalrus on November 28, 2014, 06:50:43 AM
XD You guys come up with weird ideas.
And yes people protesting against swearing are a PITA (pun intended).

This was after aeTIos made fun of thanksgiving and turkeys and jokingly brought up the PETA. :P

Site News & Announcements / Walrification begins monday!
November 28, 2014, 07:25:15 AM
Starting Monday, this is when, in the calculator community, you will start seeing signs that CodeWalrus exists. Since this week began, some of our staff members have started using the tagline "Remember the day the walrus started to fly..." in their forum signatures on other forums and my Bandcamp music store was redesigned to fit the site theme. On December 1st 2014, as forum avatars, it's Walrii that you will start seeing appear:

On December 7th, it's this signature that will start appearing publicly (on that day, we could almost talk of "Black Sunday" because of the story behind CodeWalr.us and by then, it will probably become clear to some people that something's up):
QuoteRemember, the 24th of October...

Then on December 13th, the following avatar and signature, where the banner will start leading to the actual splash screen URL, http://codewalr.us/ , will replace the above:

QuoteRemember the 24th of October, the day the walrus started to fly...

By December 19th, people will probably have already figured out, but this is around when we will blatantly start saying that a new calculator forum has been running since October, but that it's invite-only until New Year 2015. The splash screen will be gone and the site domain name will lead to the forums directly (although still not open to public).
QuoteComing soon: January 1st 2015

Around December 24th, the following signature will start being used instead, fully unveiling what the site is about:
QuoteComing soon: January 1st 2015

Then on January 1st 2015, in the form of a programming group (for now), a new era will begin...

Wow, have you ever seen this before?

It was a SNES homebrew RPG in the works in 2007. It's a shame that it was abandoned and never released, because if you look at the graphics and effects it almost looks like a Playstation 1 game. But also the concept is interesting: Battles are basically Dance Dance Revolution/Stepmania sessions where you must mash the right arrows at the right time. If you miss your character takes damage and if you hit the button properly then the enemy takes damage.

I wonder if such game concept could be implemented in another game or even a calc one? Of course a calc game would be more interesting with sound, but still. :D

General Music Talk / Your favorite chiptune music
November 26, 2014, 07:23:39 AM
If possible, it would be best to keep this thread for chiptune music that you discovered or that you like, not stuff you created, in case one day this sub-forum splits into a music showcase and general discussion like what happened on Omni a few years ago. Create new topics to showcase your own work if possible. That's unless you want to showcase music from another user, which is fine, lol.

Anyway, my favorite 8-bit songs are mostly from Mega Man and Castlevania series and I like Ys music too. But I just found this and thought it sounded cool too :D:

It's a 8-bit remake of Super Turrican's first stage theme.

Also, music from Utz from Omnimaga is awesome as well, especially the calc stuff: https://soundcloud.com/irrlicht-project

Gaming / Post your game purchases and collection!
November 24, 2014, 07:50:35 PM
Ok so I didn't have time to do this until now, but here is now a video game pickups thread. I thought that the previous title led to confusion, though, so I made it clearer.

Anyway my latest find is Bases Loaded 3 for the NES in complete condition (although the foam inside the box is missing). I also got Robocop 3 for the SNES and Drakengard 2 a while ago and soon I am planning to get an Xbox One. I think my bro might get SSBU but he's not sure yet.

Site Discussion & Bug Reports / Board and IRC Rules
November 21, 2014, 04:44:15 AM
In order to provide an hostility-free forum where everyone feels welcome and encouraged to learn programming and share their art, there are some guidelines you must follow in order to keep a good forum atmosphere:

#1 - The rules or lack thereof apply to all forum users when they use CodeWalrus discussion mediums, regardless of user skills, member rank, religion, country, views and friendships with other TI community individuals. Playing the victim by yourself or on someone's behalf when reprimanded is also disallowed.

#2 - Being rude, intolerant, provocative, manipulating or trying to start drama are disallowed under any circumstances. There are other ways to express your opinion.

#2b - Bigotry towards vulnerable or socially-marginalized minorities on any existing calculator forum, IRC channel or Discord server (the only CW rule that applies community-wide) will lead to an instant CodeWalrus permanent ban from our servers, IRC channel and forums.

#3 - Discussing or sharing advice or files dedicated for cheating on tests and exams, as well as the sharing of malicious content, private information (including responding to private messages in public without the sender's permission) and illegal material (ROMs, warez, etc) are not allowed. Adult content can only be shared in the NSFW section of our Discord server. Such content or links to it will be removed from your posts otherwise.

#4 - Flood, blatant advertising, spam and disruptive behavior are not allowed, same for abusive swearing, be it overused or directed at other users. Accounts created solely to advertise will be immediately deleted or see their privileges reduced.

#5 - Double-posting is heavily discouraged, unless it has been 24 hours or that it's a project update requiring an early topic bump. The "Modify" button exists for a reason.

#6 - Do not abuse the post rating system, such as by mass-downvoting a user for liking the color green. Also, ideally, upvoting should be for quality contributions and downvoting for rule-breaking content.

#7 - Trying to circumvent forum security (duplicate accounts, multi-voting, ban evasion, etc) will lead to the termination of your forum account.

#8 - There is a 24-hour clause on verbal warnings received via PMs. If you get reprimanded for breaking the rules via PM on IRC or the forums, then after 24 hours it is automatically assumed that you have read the message.

#9 - You can use English, French and Dutch on the forums, but if the topic is not in English then the language must be specified in the title.

#10 - If a forum member never breaks the rules, but it becomes clear that he constantly behaves at the very limit of bannability or that he is testing the rules non-stop (eg finding loopholes), then he can still be warned for it. Long hiatuses from the forum will not erase past warnings.

Extra advice for a good forum experience:

I - This forum welcomes users of any programming language or platform, as well as fans of any game, show or music genre, and it tries to promote creativity.

II - The forum software automatically limits signatures size, but even if it meets the restrictions, anything deemed too intrusive or flashy will be removed. Please keep your signature small.

III - Reprimanding an user for breaking the rules might be tolerated, but it's highly advised to use the post rating system and "Report to Moderator" options whenever possible, as it is the most effective.

IV - Searching before asking questions will make it easier for people to help you.

V - Moderator decisions are taken in group in a private sub-forum, unless an emergency forces a premature action. We will never delete a post (except illegal, private info and adult content, but not the entire post) unless requested by many people. If you need to contact the admins privately, PM them or use  a d m i n -AT- c o d e w a l r . u s   (-AT- being @) e-mail address.

XXXIV - If something exists, then there's a walrus of it.

IRC and Discord-specific rules:

#1 - No bots are allowed into the channels unless approved by the staff. In that case the bot will get voice in the channels it is allowed into and it will be exempted from flood protection. Make sure your bot implements its own mechanism to avoid attacks. The #memes-and-spam Discord room is exempt from this rule unless the bot prevents any other interaction in the room.

#2 - The spam channel is not a flood channel.

#3 - Please be nice and avoid spoilers in the anime channel, if you want to post spoilers, use IRC colors to give both the text and background the same color. People who want to read it can highlight the text with the mouse.

Enjoy your stay!

Apparently, according to TI-Planet news, Nspire OS 3.9.1 is now a thing and the downgrade utility doesn't work in it. It's unknown if it can be modified to work with 3.9.1 since this OS appears so soon after the downgrade utility came out (unless TI has like 6000 employees working on fixing exploits 24/7 allowing such fast release timeframe), but I just thought I would let you know so you won't accidentally put Pokespire, nReuben or other Nspire projects into jeopardy.

The OS is not out yet, though, but IIRC it's pre-loaded on new calcs. Just go to TI-Planet news for more info (I didn't link directly since CodeWalrus URL will appear in their traffic stats if people click the link) EDIT Jan 1st: http://tiplanet.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15592&p=173079 (now that CW is public)

Other / New member introductions: Say hello here!
November 20, 2014, 02:27:09 AM
To avoid having to create a sub-forum just for introductions and to prevent cluttering the off-topic section, I thought I would make a topic just so that people can introduce themselves in it. It can be bumped as you wish later, I guess.

Anyway I'm far from new in the TI community, but yeah since this site is new, to sum and start things up, I ran Omnimaga, which I founded, from 2001 to 2011, then a short while after retiring I became news editor there until about September 2014, then in October I co-founded this website. I did TI-83+ BASIC for almost 11 years if we exclude hiatuses, some Axe in early 2010 and 2013 and nowadays I mostly do HP PPL on the HP Prime calculator. I also create electronic (semi power-metal style or dance) music since 2002, although I stopped between 2004 and 2006.

Site Discussion & Bug Reports / About CodeWalrus
November 18, 2014, 05:57:59 PM
About This Website

Welcome to CodeWalrus: A software development community with a focus on retro-gaming, music and pixel art on various mobile platforms, including graphing calculators, as well as game consoles and PC.

Since October 2014, our active members and staff have released several new games for the Sega Dreamcast, Panasonic 3DO, Atari 2600, TI-84 Plus, TI-84 Plus C Silver Edition, TI-84 Plus CE, TI-Nspire CX, TI-89, TI-92, TI Voyage 200, HP Prime, Casio fx-9860G, Android phones and computers. This includes First Fantasy: Mana Force, Sorcery of Uvutu, Reuben Quest: Lost Between Times, Oiram CE (a Super Mario clone), SQRXZ CE, KillMinds, VVSSV, Line++, Lazer 2, GalagACE and Wal-Rush! Various existing games, such as This is the Only Level, Androides, Billybox, Mandragore, Bejeweled, Flappy Bird, Pac-Man and Pac-Attack, were also ported to TI calculators by our users and various retro gaming console emulators (SNES, Turbografx-16, Sega Genesis, Master System, etc) were released for the TI-Nspire CX.

Aside from game development, our participating forum users have released notable tools such as ICE Compiler, Houstontracker 2, CEmu, the C SDK and Libraries for the CE. We also have our share of musicians and pixel artists as well, along with a massive database of MTV Music Generator series songs from the remains of TIMGUL. A lot of new projects are also active in the development section, ranging from new games to programming utilities and 3D engines.

The idea about this website was first brought up in September 2011 then first discussed somewhere in Early June 2014 between xlibman and Pimathbrainiac (who later told Streetwalrus), but the project only officially started for real on October 24th 2014, under the name TI-Walrus. aeTIos and Juju joined the team immediately, although Streetwalrus would join a few days later due to lack of Internet access.

The idea was to fill empty gaps in the calculator community and make it more diverse by offering people something that had been missing for a while, most importantly the possibility to get more project visibility even if it's not based on a mainstream game genre or franchise and a stronger focus on a free of hostility atmosphere encouraging diversity. The site primarily focuses on calculator platforms such as the TI-84 Plus series (including color models), TI-Nspire, FX-9860G and HP Prime, we also cover mobile and old school game development, as well as all the artistic topics that often comes with it. The site team intends to offer an hostility-free environment towards users of any platform and programming language and to encourage new people to learn, while also making it a fun place to hang out together. We also had as mission to remain as transparent as possible as soon as the site would open to public, which is why sometimes we move topics out of the hidden staff board for public view once they are resolved and why we often discuss certain site matters publicly.

The new website name was discussed for a while after founding, with TI-Walrus, CalcWalrus and TI-Legacy being considered at first, then on November 4th, a name not specific to calculators was chosen: CodeWalrus. The domain name http://codewalr.us was then immediately registered by Juju with the help of Pimathbrainiac, who was made its official owner until Scipi took over its ownership. The plan was to keep the site private until most of the forum features become functional, then slowly let people know about the existence of this website one by one. During that time, the forums would operate like a regular mobile and calculator programming team so that we wouldn't launch an empty website to public. The site would finally open to public on New Year 2015, following a December month where more and more clues about the existence of this new TI, HP and Casio chapter of the community would unfold...

Despite being a new website, CodeWalrus has quickly risen among the most active calculator websites, while still remaining a fun place to hang out and discuss other topics of similar interest. We hope that old and new members alive enjoy their stay and stick around. If you have any suggestions and concerns about CodeWalrus, we invite you to post a topic about it in the appropriate forum section.

How to support this website?

-By participating to discussions, showcasing your projects, checking other people projects and helping them, of course! This also benefits you if you showcase your work, since you get even more visibility.

-But also you can support CodeWalrus financially. Due to high demand, we now allow donations via subscription to a CW Supporter account. Go to your Profile then click Group Memberships. There is an option to subscribe to paid groups for 1 year. You get a special badge if you do so, although there are currently no other extra benefits. This helps covering the hosting bill and future contests. Otherwise, you can advertise on the website, if you are interested, contact admin Juju.  xlibman also sells music on Bandcamp website (each album is set to "Pay what you want"), and although the music sales are no longer used exclusively for site funding since September 2016, they are still a way to make it considerably easier to fund future CodeWalrus contests such as the Yearly CW Project Award.

-If you like CodeWalrus, feel free to share it with your friends. You can use the following codes in other forum signatures or even your website:

Official CodeWalrus Staff and Part-time maintenance Groups

Unless emergencies occur, staff will generally take decisions together in a private sub-forum, but a 24-hour limit applies to group decisions taking in order to prevent things from dragging on for months. All staff can take part in decision taking regardless of their status in the team. The team comprises staff members located in Canada, Germany, the Netherlands and Israel, so in general there will always be one of them available if needed. However, because all staff are busy with real life, if you need to contact them, we recommend that you contact the entire team at once via private message or via  a d m i n @ c o d e w a l r . u s  without the spaces (private message is faster, but requires a forum account with 5 posts). For site issues, post in the Site discussion and bug reports sub-forum.

-Server Maintenance: Full server and forum access to prevent things from breaking and getting out of date.
-Forum Maintenance: In charge of adding/modifying website content. Has minimal moderator privileges (anything that doesn't involve deletions or banning).
-Moderator: Full moderator privileges, including banning
-Topic manager: Same as moderator, but with fewer privileges. Their primary task is keeping the forum content in order, such as moving topics in the right category, merging duplicate content, etc.

The primary member groups list is also viewable here.

Pingdom DNS Health Test
Delegation

Failed to find name servers for CODEWALR.us (parent of codewalr.us/IN).

Delegation not found at parent.

No delegation could be found at the parent, making your zone unreachable from the Internet.

Not enough nameserver information was found to test the zone codewalr.us, but an IP address lookup succeeded in spite of that.

Pingdom test on entire page (I enabled guest board view for a few minutes to perform this test before disabling it again: http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/bj3m50/http://codewalr.us/index.php

Traceroute test from Pingdom gave an Invalid Host Name error.

A while ago, I was bored and made this:

It's nothing special and could maybe use some optimizing, but it's pure-BASIC and is incomplete anyway (it's not exactly like Falldown since you can't roll on platforms and stuff). It should show that contrary to popular belief, this calculator can achieve decent scrolling speed (in this case, not even a single ASM lib was used).

Since that screenshot was taken, I made it so there are two platforms at a time and they are larger, but I lost that version and it was much slower anyway, since it switched to Line() which seemed much slower with smaller platforms (really, TI?), so I am unsure if I'll keep lines or switch back to Text like in the screenshot above.

It's not meant to compete in any way against other FallDown clones but it was to show that pure-BASIC scrolling on a CSE is somewhat possible.

The site now uses a newsing system similar to Cemetech, in the way that instead of fetching news from just 1 single board, you can front page topics from any existing sub-forum. The limitation over Cemetech, though, is that it's impossible to front-page topic replies: Only the first post of a topic can be flagged as news.

First of all, if you are featuring someone's project release or final release, I heavily encourage you to mention his Twitter ID in the topic title (eg @IronMaiden releases new album), so that the author gets notified on Twitter that he got recognition here.

Basically, if you want to post something on the front page, do the following:
1) Go to the topic itself
2) Next to Reply/Add poll/notify/etc, click the ADD AS ARTICLE button.
3) Choose the appropriate category in the drop-down.

It should make newsing MUCH easier as you can keep every topic in their respective category now and in the case an user posts something very important, then you can keep it in its appropriate location while still putting it on the front page! :D Also, make sure that the topic date is newer than the last news, else it won't be first.

Drawing & Animation / Some Reuben Quest art (new and old)
November 14, 2014, 07:42:46 AM
Here are some Reuben Quest stuff I did in 2004-05 and more recently. However, this topic currently misses some images I posted before on Omni since they are attachments and I try to avoid linking directly to Omni from here until this site existence gets leaked and I was too lazy to re-upload everything. But here is some of the sprites stuff below:

Practically none of the mods I want to install are working and I even had to re-install the entire board then restore the theme from an older backup when I tried to install one of the mods (I forgot which one, but the entire board ended up into white screens of death). In some other cases, some mods don't even do anything at all, even on the default them. Example: Stop Forum Spam, which changes absolutely nothing at all.

If you check SMF website, you will notice that there is only 1 single post mentionning HHVM out of their 3 million messages and it's in Spanish. I wonder if the SMF team is even aware that it exists at all.

I know some of you prefer HHVM because it's much faster than PHP, but it's severely slowing down site progress and now I'm pretty much forced to halt mod install and editing until we did the switch. I would rather use something slower but more compatible than delaying the site opening by weeks and risking data losses everytime somebody modifies something trivial.

EDIT: Also the SMF Fixes mod is too dangerous, because it's a mod of other mods. I tried uninstalling everything so that Stop Spam can be installed (else it wouldn't install unless installed first, like the old Omni arcade) and then after installing Youtube, SMF Fixes install broke the forum with a blank page. If you don't know by heart the perfect order in which to install mods before this and what not to install, then you are screwed.

Games / Read before posting your files
November 14, 2014, 02:20:03 AM
This section of the forum is where you can publish games that you have finished or that are in advanced stages. The files can be linked to or uploaded as attachments, but there are guidelines to follow when posting them to ensure that they won't be rejected. If your upload does not meet the criterias, it will be moved to this section in the appropriate category.

1) We accept games and programs for every platform (mobile, calculators, consoles, computers (vintage or modern), PICO-8, web, etc)

2) All files must include an executable and a readme.txt with instructions. They can be in ZIP, RAR or any other compressed archive that can be opened on Windows.

3) Files must not contain any material that violates CodeWalrus forum rules. NSFW content will be marked with NSFW tags, but blatant adult content and hate speech will not be allowed at all.

4) Programs must meet a certain level of quality in order to be accepted in the archives. For example, a number guessing game or a three minutes-long RPG Alpha build will not make it through.

5) Files must be uploaded by posting a new topic in this sub-forum:
-Subject: [Platform] Game Title
-Topic content: Description (screenshots are optional, but recommended), followed by download
-Download link: See below.

6) The download link can be either a direct post attachment or a link to the file or its info on Omnimaga, Cemetech, Ticalc, TI-Planet, Planète-Casio, HP Museum, Google Play, Apple Store, Github or SourceForge, but the download link must be easy to find.

7) All rules above are subject to change without any notice.

So I worked a bit on the forum theme last night, the hardest part being figuring out how to center the logo (something unusual on a SMF forum) and the theme is far from finished. However, I was unsure about what background color to choose around the site. Currently it's dark turquoise or something, but would people prefer something different and what? What I know, though, is that using the same green as the inner logo green looked ugly, though, and a gray-ish green looks more like an hospital surgery room than anything else. :P

Drawing & Animation / Some sprites by DJ Omnimaga
November 13, 2014, 12:30:47 AM
So I thought I would cross-post those sprites I posted over the years on Omni so I can also have my portfolio here. You can re-use some of them if you give me credits, but ask me first in case I am currently using them in a project, so that we can avoid having two projects using the same tileset simultaneously, for example.

Reuben & ROL3 tiles (most Reuben monsters are Final Fantasy/Lufia/Metroid/Dragon Warrior rips, recolored for my needs, though):

Illusiat 10 final boss:

Fake Metroid III screenshot (Halloween 2007 prank)

Nemesiat/Illusiat 6 xLIB Remake idea (mockup)

Another one

Nemesiat II tilesets (re-used in another project then eventually colorized:

ROL2 PC characters idea (re-used later in an RPG by juju which never got far)

Reuben PRIZM mockup

Animation near the end of Zelda: Dark Link Quest

Reuben Quest 3 title screen idea

Illusiat 13 title screens and mockups
TI-Nspire style (ASM/C):

PRIZM style:

TI-84 Plus C Silver Edition style (TI-BASIC):

Original TI-83+/84+ version:

Zelda BASIC CSE (160x240 mode)

Supersonic Ball animated tiles

Color Reuben battle sprite

Dynamic tiles example from Super Walrii Land (can be recreated 30 times a second, just to tell how fast HP PPL is)

More sprites meant for HP Prime games, but finally never used

This is my sprite generation routine in action. You see the static tiles too in that set, which I didn't share publicly yet. But as you will notice, I can generate a wall tileset 20 times per second O.O

List updated May 23 2016. This topic was originally used to discuss the website construction before it finally opened to public on Jan 1st 2015 and was/is/will be used to update users on minor site updates.

Major site upgrade features to add
Recent Posts:
-Recent posts feature with the same layout as regular sub-forums (like on Omnimaga) with the category and cloned locations appearing below the title next to the author
-The ability to filter the recent posts list by category (like on Lexaloffle and Flarum), one at a time and also by genre (eg dev-related) and certain tags (calcs, tutorials, etc)
-Recent posts page shows by default instead of board index, but there would be an option to switch between board index by default or vice-versa, depending of user's preference.

AJAX notification system (for those who don't use IRC nor WalrusIRC):
-Updates every 30 second
-When mentioned in a post (a (1) digit appears in the navbar and browser title bar)
-When a PM is received (a (1) digit appears in the navbar and browser title bar)
-When there are new posts on the forums  (a (1) digit appears in the navbar and browser title bar)
-When a new post is made in the currently-viewed topic (a warning appears below the list of posts in the topic)

Site navigation
-Welcome User+Avatar inside navbar, to the left
-Inbox and profile gets replaced with icons that appears next to it
-Rest of navigation moved to the center

Feature ideas (some might be scrapped if a SMF 2.1 upgrade come at the horizon)
-Add more games to the arcade, which must either be ports/remakes of calculator games or games made by our members. Having more z80/ez80-themed games would be nice, like Supersonic Ball.
-Make the Report to Moderator feature downvote posts automatically.
-Make WalrusIRC show forum and Telegram users in the online list instead of just IRC users
-Fix theme glitch when using search (green rectangle appearing besides the Logout link
-Fix all PHP errors. None causes any harm it seems, but an error-free site would definitively be much better and professional.
-Add merch store (there is one under construction but the selection is poor and I need to buy samples) <-This is scrapped until the Canadian dollar increases again. I can't afford to spend $50 for a t-shirt.

TODO
-Add flood control to img.codewalr.us and fix the img.codewalr.us directory listing.
-Get W-803, W-804, W-805 and W-807 back online and on a stable connection. We need more than 3 bots to keep the channel opped.
-Make WalrusIRC iOS-compatible. (seems like a CSS3 problem causing the textarea to be hidden in shoutbox view)
-Add a tutorials link in the site navigation
-Fix some theme issues preventing some text from being visible on mobile. For example, on the board stats page, maybe we could hide New members column or make some lists a smaller width percentage, such as 95%?
-Fix karma showing up twice below posts
-Fix display issues with upvote/downvote buttons inside locked topics for non-staff members.

Suggestions can be posted here or in this forum section. :)
