As some of you here know, besides calculator programming I also did electronic music. I'd say my electronic music is more on the extreme side, although there have been more and more exceptions in recent years as I explore new horizons. Almost everything made from 2002 to 2017 and since Summer 2022 began was made entirely using a Playstation 1 emulator with Music 2000/MTV Music Generator software. I mostly produce UK hardcore, happy hardcore, eurodance (90's style), power metal-inspired music, video game soundtrack and to a lesser extent ambient stuff. Since 2022 I've been producing plenty of italo-disco and synth-pop too.

BUMP:
I updated the first post with a spoiler that contains all my album cover pictures.
Hmmm nice covers DJ, I didn't know the decade compilations were made of so many albums.
Also I lost. x.x
Thanks :D. Yeah the compilations were almost all my songs from 2002 to 2012 when I stopped doing dance songs for a while.
I'm unsure if this will go anywhere, but here is a chiptune version of the beginning of It's the End of Agony:
http://djomnimaga.codewalr.us/itstheendofagonychiptune.mp3
It's only my 2nd chiptune song so far and the 2nd one using Pocket Music for the Game Boy Color, but this time it doesn't use the two wave sample channels.
Yay chiptunes~
Listened to it the other day, it sounds really cool. :D
Thanks guys. Hopefully I can do some more chiptunes in the near future. It's hard with just 2 melody channels, though x.x
That's really cool. Do you record from the actual gameboy or do you use an emulator?
Emulator. I want the real thing ASAP, though.
So I just realized something yesterday: my happy hardcore cover of Ancient Kingdom of Omnimaga, named Ancient Kingdom of Happy Hardcore, was released the day before CodeWalrus was founded. Had I known that this site project would become a thing when I made the song, I could almost have named it The Day the Walrus Started to Fly or The Happy Hardcore Walrus Song. O.o
That is a coincidence and on Oct 24th the site name wasn't decided yet, but since the project codename was TI-Walrus at first, such song title would have been fitting, considering the name of the original song and the release date of the cover. :P
wow, didn't notice this before. And that is quite the list :o
Wasn't the release date in purpose, I vaguely remember something like posting your music this day to avoid overlapping with CW, or I'm just getting crazy.
Nah it's just a coincidence. If no drama had happened the night after I released the song, it would probably only have postponed CW official founding date, as the writing was already on the wall for months and by early October it became clear it was inevitable.
That said, I could probably have renamed the song if the site name became different, because among the site names, the following were considered from oldest to newest:
TI-Walrus
CalcWalrus
Ancient Kingdom of Omnimaga
Ancient Kingdom of DJ Omnimaga
Ancient Kingdom of Omnitia
TI-Legacy
Calc Legacy
CodeWalrus
No "Ancient Kindom of Walrii"?
Thanks, DJ Omnimaga, for allowing the credited use of your music in the multiplatform version of TwoStep :)
No problem. :) I'M unsure how well the music will fit since I assume for a puzzle game you need calmer music, but we never know, since I have a large selection and this https://djomnimaga.bandcamp.com/album/the-reign-of-legends-0-ost-under-development
I should really attempt at doing more ambient music at one point or at least slower stuff. Maybe stuff like The 4th Coming theme?
oh that would be cool :) but now i want to make a fast pased android game that suits your music <_<
If the game is based on my music that should be easier to make I think. Just make it fast-paced and flashy, eg some sort of 2D or pseudo 3D racing game but in space with space ships with debris acting like the road edges. :P Or even a psychedelic space Tunnel game
Could be a good idea. I'll see what i can do soon, i should do more android developing anyway (its been a while)
Indeed, especially that secret project :P
I finally uploaded the two electronic metal songs I made during Summer 2014 on Bandcamp: https://djomnimaga.bandcamp.com/album/elemental-cross-incomplete
That album was never completed, but the songs were only on Reverbnation, so people might probably not have heard them before. Unfinished was already on Bandcamp, though.
Cool :D i'll check them out later today though :3
I'll check them out when I have time!
How do you like them so far (if you managed to check them out)? :)
Also since I am not really into electronic metal music making lately, something I had in mind was to merge both my Enter the Dream World re-arrange album project with my Elemental Cross album one. Basically, it would end up like Stratovarius' Intermission album, which is a Best Of album, but features 4 brand new songs. Basically, the album would end up being an electronic power metal remake of my 3rd eurodance/happy hardcore album from 2007, but would also include some new songs. It could also very well be a partial remake, featuring some remade tracks, but not all of them (eg the slow version of Journey Through the Moon Dark side would most likely be skipped).
I already have a covert art for that album idea since years ago anyway.
By the way, does anyone here remember this? :P
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULCztXebVLE
It's relatively obscure in the community since there is no MP3 of it online.
There was also this

Small UK hardcore idea I had, based on In UK Hardcore we Trust http://xlib.mtv-music-generator.com/testukhc.mp3

By the way, does anyone remember this? https://petercrowley.bandcamp.com/track/bonus-track-the-lunar-warrior-djomnimaga-cover
This was a cover of THe Lunar Warrior that Peter Crowley Fantasy Dream made back in 2012, as a bonus track for one of his albums.
Here was the original track: https://djomnimaga.bandcamp.com/track/the-lunar-warrior
Ah, yeah, Peter Crowley. Pretty good stuff he did there.
Indeed. Shame that he removed the Youtube video, but I'm glad that he kept all his old Bandcamp albums. I would have bought them all a while ago but lacked money at the time.

Wow that sounds pretty awesome.
Yeah at first I wasn't too sure because covers sometimes end up being too different or not sounding as good but this person really did it right.
Necropost time:
I have finally completed one of my unfinished 2014 songs. It's called Massaji and it's a fast dance song but not UK hardcore. It's kinda simple but I wanted to get some of my old stuff done rather than letting it die on an hard drive somewhere:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6KkCDHwb7c
https://djomnimaga.bandcamp.com/track/massaji
:walrii:
Damn I like that song. Love the jpop-ish verse :D
Thanks, and yeah that verse was inspired from Crumbacher's Grduating Class song, which is a christian pop song, but the chorus was inspired from Cardcaptor and coincidentially the Crumbacher song seemed similar in style to Japanese music. :P
I have another song that is nearing completion and is UK hardcore, but it doesn't have any j-pop influence. I might eventually try to make a jpop-ish happy hardcore song, though.
UPDATE:
The other song I started over a year ago that wasn't completed is now complete too: It's called Hard Chords Teal I Dye. I also put my two new songs on Soundcloud (https://soundcloud.com/djomnimaga) now but I'll put a video of the hardcore song and a Bandcamp link up later when I have time to make one. Here is the link to Hard Chords Til I Dye:

My new UK hardcore song "Hard chords teal I dye" is now on Youtube and Bandcamp:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcDbWsXJWOQ
https://djomnimaga.bandcamp.com/track/hard-chords-teal-i-dye
Aw yeah I like those songs. Both of them.
Thanks. :D Also did you listen to the UK hardcore song until the very very end of the track? :P
AWwwwww yeah Hard Chords Teal I dye is sick ;D
Fireworks? And yeah, that song is truly sick.

They surprised me and actually kinda hurt my ears with their treble
Hehe, it was meant to be like a big explosion. :P (kinda like how the song Unfinished starts but louder). I was going for something like this but with more reverb and bass:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4EnOvNTK0oc
I like both your new songs a lot. And of course I'm happy about the Crumbacher reference; I loved Escape from the Fallen Planet so much. :)
Thanks a lot, and yeah I went for the typical Japanese style or also Crumbacher :D. My next happy hardcore song will probably also be inspired from j-pop and Crumbacher.
http://djomnimaga.codewalr.us/i.mp3
Does this remind you of something? :3=
Yeeees, I like this one~
Thanks. I was wondering if anyone even noticed my post since no one was replying <_<
By the way, in case you can't figure out, this is a new version of Unknown Truth from the Forbidden Land. Whethere it will be finished or not is unknown yet, though. :P
Hope you finish it eventually. And I'm kinda bad at remembering the song name ._.
Well, the song name is long anyway. I was more wondering if people would recognize the melody from my older songs :P
Sure I did ^.^
Yay! I hope other people listen to the song too, though :P
Not gonna lie, I listened to it and liked it, but didn't respond because it didn't remind me of anything in particular :v

Aah you should have asked anyway D: (or commented without knowing what it was from)
Thanks guys :)
I don't know if this was intended as a new song or a remix but this sounds similar to Firestorm 2007 Trance Remix :P. I thought I would share in case you like. I think he used the memory card file I posted on Omnimaga a few years ago when I made 5 of my old songs "open-source".
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBzFeOn0PEs
On a side note, someone was asking me how I did the wind sweep effect in my songs and I thought I should make a video showing how:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKxdERl_1QA
It's not very hard but of course you need enough memory to load in the Underwater sample at 11 KHz.
This also works in MTV Music Generator 2, but in Music 3000, Music 2000 PC and Music 2002 the reverb effect will be mono instead of stereo. Also MTVMG2 and 3000 got an actual wind sweep instrument anyway.
So if I counted properly, I made a total of 167 songs since June 2002. I never tried counting them before because I have so many files that are spread everywhere and some songs that appear on multiple albums at once. This includes the remixes of copyrighted songs mentioned on the first post, but this excludes all demos and unfinished material.
I should really put all my songs into 1 folder at one point. I also added Hard Chords Teal I Dye and The Most Relaxing Song Ever to the first post, since they were missing.
On a side note, those songs are a little crappy but in 2007 I wanted to give speedcore and splittercore a try, so this was the result. Those songs are not on my Bandcamp albums:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpjhSDuzepg
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtkuPwZJHtc
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNK3XKG4x5g
The last one sounds like a computer fan.
So it appears that this song is now 10 years old:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I86B23lsPig
This was my second song following a hiatus from music making that lasted nearly 3 years and it's a trance cover of the Terra theme in Final Fantasy VI.
In Jan 2004 I stopped making music because my Music 2000 CD broke and it took until December 2006 before I finally find an ISO somewhere (I still have my Music 2000 CD today, along with a second one that works). The last song I made before my hiatus was Techno Revolution (technically, it was not complete at the time, which is why it's so short, but an extended remix was released in 2007) and the first I made after the hiatus ended was Happy Hardcore:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQU5cjcDwwE
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q01XfgZxN1A
EDIT: Also this is not too far away from becoming a decade old:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vidWSA0qlaY
Same for this in a few months
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXkuVA7Z28E
Nice tunes and the speedcore reminded me to get back to a track I made a while ago which has bpm 680.
It's not really gabba or speedcore, it's a little bit different.
Anyway I refreshed the mix, what do you think???
https://soundcloud.com/kotu/dj-prime-off-course (https://soundcloud.com/kotu/dj-prime-off-course)
Ooh I actually like this. It's different from speedcore in the way it doesn't have the distorted kickdrum but it's quite original. Also I need to check your music topic when I have time. I have two months worth of unread topics *.* (many were read, but not all)
Not much material in terms of new songs, but there was an increasing demand about physical CD releases of my songs, and since no online direct-to-customer CD service offers multi-CD printing in standard jewel cases, this means I can only sell single-disc albums. As a result, I decided to do two new albums. In UK Hardcore We Trust now uses the same format as my 2007-08 releases and will feature all uk hardcore/eurodance songs I made since 2009, while a new album containing 24 experimental, VGM, synthpop, 8-bit, 2002-03 and other songs not available on any of my albums other than A Decade of Magic Hardcore and A Decade of Omnidance.
The new album will be titled Illegal Music Chemistry and the artwork pays hommage to retro gaming and contains various pixelated arworks from my 2007-08 albums.
I am also considering re-releasing my 2007-08 albums in physical format, but it will depend if Kunaki is cooperative.
The new In UK Hardcore we Trust album is already available digitally and it's the first time ever that I am offering "The Most Relaxing Song Ever" as download.
Ooooh, nice :D
Thanks. :D I hope that Kunaki is cooperative so I can eventually offer this and other albums in physical format. I had to make track 20 to 25 into one big track because Kunaki only lets you put 20 songs per album. Hence the "Bonus mega track" on the back cover.
What is nice is that they offered a free sample including shipping so if it really gets shipped to me then I'll be able to check if the quality is good
20 songs/albums, eh? Have you tried burning your audio CD, then sending the CD image directly to Kunaki? You might be able to get over that limit.
Ah I didn't think about that. That is a long process, though, and it costs more. My goal is to re-enter the music market at zero cost in long-term
No I mean, the thing has an option to send your already mastered ISO/CUE files you can make in a CD burning software instead of each song separately.
Oh I see. I will have to check, then. That said it probably won't matter for now, as my other albums have between 10 and 15 tracks, so this would mainly be useful if I resubmit my Illegal Music Chemistry CD
As I am currently streamlining my Bandcamp releases, Ancient Kingdom of Omnimaga and the single called Unfinished (which had 4 song) have been merged, meaning that Ancient Kingdom of Omnimaga Special Edition, which used to be available on iTunes, is now available again, this time on Bandcamp. There's also an option to buy my entire discography at once now.
So I just did a countdown and here are how many songs I made per year since 2002, only including my own work:
2002: 11
2003: 17

2012: 23
2013: 5
2014: 7
2015: 2
2016: 2

If I only include covers, remixes and mashups of other people's songs (nightcore doesn't count), here are the stats:
2002: 1
2003: 6
2004: 0
2005: 0

Bump: I updated the first topic post because it was missing both of my two latest releases. >.<
@aeTIos wanted me to re-upload some of the cassette recordings of my older songs (most were recomposed note by note from scratch, with the remaining cassette-only tracks being put on Illegal Music Chemistry). I don't have any copy around that is not remastered and I'm too lazy to re-record the cassettes again, but here are some of the remastered cassette rips to hear the difference :P
Other World: http://djomnimaga.codewalr.us/DJ%20Omnimaga%20-%20Other%20World%20(Cassette%20rip).mp3

Star Knight: http://djomnimaga.codewalr.us/DJ%20Omnimaga%20-%20Star%20Knight%20(Cassette%20rip).mp3
The following was never recomposed from scratch, but it's heavily based on Techno Strike, and was used as a cover of Snap! - Rhythm is a Dancer, so it gives an idea of what Techno Strike sounded like on tape:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMzcvtkCmjc
You'll notice that Other World has an extra wind sweep effect near the end. It was left out from the recomposed HQ version by accident. I actually prefer how the tape version sounds like because it sounds harder due to the low sound quality/eq-ing :P
I kinda ran out of ideas a while ago for new songs and remixes, but I still did this intro to what could eventually be Chrono Breaks and Moon Knight combined together (maybe the 2017 remix of Chrono Breaks incorporating elements from 2003 songs rather than just the 2002 song?)
https://instaud.io/19N5
I dunno what else to do with it for now, though.
That's a really good tune
@xlibman although I would like it if it were more a freeform mix (ie. a 4/4 kick pattern) instead of drum n bass. Nice though

The drum and bass style part is only during the intro and quieter parts. Kinda like some of the early 2000's Bonkers tunes. If this song gets expanded it will have freeform or UK hardcore parts
Aw yeah, that sounds pretty awesome :D
I just ordered a bunch of my own CDs in order to get them consigned at the four local Sunrise Records stores (only two of the stores will have my entire CD discography, while the other two will only have Destiny Knight, Tales of the Knight of the Moon, Ancient Kingdom of Omnimaga Special Edition and In UK Hardcore and Dance we Trust for now.
Now what I hope is that Canada Post doesn't charge me extra duties/taxes on delivery and that the Canadian Dollar doesn't drop by 10 cents while the credit card payment gets processed. Normally that doesn't happen, but we never know, since it happened with Custer's Revenge for the Atari 2600. I will already have to report the earnings while doing my tax stuff next spring, if any, and I am fairly sure that they will take the revenues into account rather than the profits. While I'm mostly doing this for exposure rather than profits, I would still like to be able to earn as much per album as I earn on Bandcamp from one digital version without forcing Sunrise to charge way too high per 2017 standards.
Just to let you know, while my sales aren't high, this year, I have just hit a record high amount of revenues on Bandcamp, the previous record dating back in 2012. That's despite the drastic price drop for my individual releases and the entire discography purchase promotion, meaning that a lot of people seems to like Bandcamp's Humble-bundle-style Pay-what-you-want feature (I think someone paid $10 for one track once, a few years ago, even though you could get the entire album for free at the time).
The amount of individual sales I got is still lower than in 2012 and 2013, but 7 of them were the entire discography being purchased at once at nearly half the price, so technically 2017 is a record in terms of purchases too, since the discography had 13 releases. The following includes track and full album purchases, but with the "entire discography" purchases of 2017 split into separate albums.

Here's another song!

And here are two others:

My landing page URL has changed (see last sig button), as the original URL was obtained through Freenom and I no longer have access to it (for now at least). I also made new merch that is already available at my page but due to the nature of print on demand merchandise and the fact some of my stuff is all-over-print the prices are very similar to what you see at concerts and shops that sells merch from established musicians and bands.

I ordered two samples so far to see what they look like in real life. Hopefully I can afford to do so with the others soon. I'm also working on 32-Bit Rekt Part 2 album which is over halfway done.
Dream of Omnimaga, my 20th full-length album, this time filled with happy electronic power metal is now released on Bandcamp! This is also my first release under my new nickname "Dream of Omnimaga", which the album title shares.

It will be available on TIDAL , Qobuz , Apple Music and Youtube Music in the next few weeks. Although it will also be made available on Spotify I recommend using an alternate streaming platform because Spotify will stop monetizing less popular music tracks starting in 2024.

My new album Hardcore for the 21st is now out at the above URL and at other stores:
https://djomnimaga.bandcamp.com/album/hardcore-for-the-21st
https://push.fm/fl/hardcore21
It only includes hardcore music (some of which will probably be eventually remade into electronic power metal or vice-versa).
The release of the electronic game metal music album "Metal is Like a Fantasy" was made earlier than planned at 12 AM France time instead of Quebec time due to a violent glow-in-the-dark unicorns storm that just hit Quebec City. I managed to end the invasion rapidly by releasing the album at that different time zone to end their madness. Here is the link to all stores on which it's available:

① Metal is Like a Fantasy
Epic metal inspired track inspired by "Blind Guardian" and "Rhapsody of Fire", featuring remixes of "Be my Best", "Firestorm", "Hardcore is Like a Fantasy", "Maximum Liquidation" and "Capture of the Far East Desert".
② 99 Swords and Potions
This one is about old JRPG games where you could hold unrealistically high amount of items and equipment in your otherwise tiny backpack as you traveled from one dungeon to another. It shows even more the shift towards the electronic and gaming side of the music more than the other tracks and for some reasons it sounds reminiscent of some "Jean-Jacques Goldman" material from France.
③ Total Losing of The Game
Among all the tracks on this album this is probably the closest to my typical electronic metal style. Inspired by "Dream of Omnimaga" and "Of Hope and Success", this track about arcade games is a remix of both "Super Ultimate Mega Doom" and "Scream" combined together into one feels-good melodic metal track.
④ Quest Save Erased
This track was inspired from a recent "AVGN" episode where the Nerd loses his "Final Fantasy VI" save data after a game crash and is about the unstable nature of old game and software save mediums. It is also a remix of my UK hardcore tracks "Rave Maelstrom".
⑤ Rainbow Unicorns' Arson
This one tries to have a name that is over the top and it's a electronic power metal remix of my old tracks "The Winter Trance", "The Summer Trance" and "Techno Strike". This tracks introduce low piano bass notes to the overall style.
⑥ Imperio Pop
Inspired from pop music (especially the 80's), this track ended up sounding a bit reminiscent of "Heavenly" band stuff in its electronic power metal form.
⑦ The Four Stupid Elemental Crystals
This track is about generic role-playing games from the late 80's and early 90's where all you had to do is search for the four elemental crystals to save the world and now having to search for them yet again.
⑧ Riot in the Enchanted Forest
This track is a follow-up to the previous one and adds the extra sound heard in "Imperio Pop". It is inspired by Nightwish to a certain extent.
⑨ Metal is Like a Fantasy (Short version)
It is a remix of my track "Hardcore is Like a Fantasy" into electronic power metal , but it has a little more synth effects than my 2011-2023 tracks of this genre.
