This thread is for music makers to share ideas and ask for help in searching for specific sounds/instruments/samples.  It could also be a good starting point in creating a community project.

Looking For: The samples "Disco Bombing" and "No More Ghosts, No More Fuzzy Pictures".  These samples are mostly well known for being in the song PARANOiA EVOLUTION from the DDR games, but while searching for the sample i've noticed they have been in other songs as well (Neuroticfish - No More Ghosts], & Ginger Woz Red - Disco Bombing).  I've given up on google cause all i get are articles about the 1986 disco bombing, and whosampled.com shows no results for either one.  Are these samples that come in a pack or part of a software or something?

In return, I'll share one of my sampling secrets... in my "UTOPIAMIX" album, I got my DDR/BMIIDX samples here and here.

Nice, and I see you named them :D. I need to learn again which type is weak against what and start doing some battles at some point.

Yea I have a name for (almost) every pokemon, some of them relate to movies, tv-shows, & other videogames

Also here a type chart.

Before i got my current phone (Samsung Galaxy S4), I used to have the T-Mobile Sidekick brand of phones.  It was the best phone i ever had.  The keyboard felt nice and perfect for my "big-toe-like" thumbs, and i could text lightning fast.  Then they did away with that and made texting via the touch screen and I LOATH IT ENTIRELY!  My damn thumbs always press 2 letters at once, and it's gotten to the point where this app is a necessity for me.

How did they "stop supporting it" ??? Surly the old software will still run.

It'll run, but you'll be at risk for threats...

Quote from: MicrosoftWhat happens if I continue to use Windows XP?

If you continue to use Windows XP now that support has ended, your computer will still work but it might become more vulnerable to security risks and viruses. Internet Explorer 8 is also no longer supported, so if your Windows XP PC is connected to the Internet and you use Internet Explorer 8 to surf the web, you might be exposing your PC to additional threats. Also, as more software and hardware manufacturers continue to optimize for more recent versions of Windows, you can expect to encounter more apps and devices that do not work with Windows XP.

What does it mean if Windows isn't supported?

An unsupported version of Windows will no longer receive software updates from Windows Update. These include security updates that can help protect your PC from harmful viruses, spyware, and other malicious software, which can steal your personal information. Windows Update also installs the latest software updates to improve the reliability of Windows—new drivers for your hardware and more

TODO:
-Decide whether TIMGUL database content should be merged into CW's or not (or find a way to let people use their CW account on both boards)
-Decide whether TIMGUL post stats should be included in CW's stat section or not
-Decide whether TIMGUL should continue as a separate site or have old users cross-post their content on CW (we can add new music sections). Considering TIMGUL has a strong interest in retro gaming, 8-bit trackers and already have MTVMG users, keeping both sites userbases split might be counter-productive.

I think the main "hurtle" as far as TIMGUL/CW merge goes is whether or not you want the old members of TIMGUL to return/recruit new members that use MTVMG/MusicSeries.  Keep in mind these programs/games are usually used by a niche group of people, unless you're looking to broaden the horizons and include people that use FruityLoops/GarageBand/LMMS/etc...

Of course Win10 will piss off those who update from an older OS with an older hardware

i thought Microsoft prevented that from happening since that "upgrade from win7 to 10" notification/program checked your hardware specs and told you if it's compatible with the new OS or not.  A few months ago I did that at my mom's job with all of her computers at the office and one of them prevented me from upgrading because the video card in the computer was not compatible, so I had to get a new nvidia card for it and then it started the upgrade (which was odd cause all the other towers had that built-in Intel Graphics and they were fine, its just that one specifically it said no to)

For some reasons I missed the song from the list. Not sure why. My bad >.< (also weren't there multiple versions of it?)

By the way I listened to said album and enjoyed it :) (as well as the inclusion of Dirty Talk). As for the Sega Genesis song I mean Tombstone Terror and Jellyfish Club. Actually I don't even remember if they were remixes of Sega Genesis songs, but the sounds often sound similar. :P

By mono reverb, I mean that when you use the reverb feature in Music 2000 PC, Music 2002 and Digital Hitz Factory, it will sound mono, while in Music 2000 PS1, MTVMG2 and MTVMG3 it will sound stereo. To workaround this you have to change some note panning but I always felt that it was still not deep enough.

Do you think you could post a recording of "Trancer 44 KHz" riff from the PC version so I could compare with the PS1 version?

Also listening to Tsuopiamush again brought back old memories :)

No biggie, but yea just an FYI, I released Tombstone Terror a while ago (it's in my first album "Planet Utopia").  As for Jellyfish Club, it's going in my "GEMS (The Pink Album)" album, which will probably be released sometime this month at the pace i'm going. (I already got like 5-6 songs completed for the album)

Glad you like my stuff so far though  :) and yea when i get home, I'll record a sample of that and stick it as an attachment here.

Does this one include Dirty Talk and some of your older covers Sega Genesis songs?

On a side note do you still use MTVMG on a regular basis? I also wonder if you ever found a workaround for the mono reverb?

  • Did you even look at the song list for the album I added?
  • What Sega Genesis songs are you talking about specifically?
  • I have no idea what you mean regarding the "mono reverb" thing

New album on the first post (86.3 WCMG).  Songs 1, 2, & 7 are originals, the rest are remixes.  I'm almost done re-doing the rest of the album art & re-tagging the rest of my completed songs.  I've been in the works on a couple new albums...

  • Foonmani - An album that remixes the songs from Foonmix by using samples from BMIIDX & DDR
  • GEMS (The Pink Album) - Basically a "jazzier" chiptune album (I.E. Wacky Worlds Jazz instruments)
  • An album that consists of nothing but PARANOiA remixes
  • An album that consists of mash-ups... new ones & re-done old ones
  • An album of remixed Knuckles Chaotix songs using MTV Music generator/Music 2000 instruments

Whenever I have the time to complete them I'll add them to the first post as well

Ah ok. Are there even any games on the 3DS that are free or does Nintendo require every developer to charge money?

Pokemon Shuffle is free on the 3DS, but it has the same micro-transaction bullc as most mobile games.

Also a few apps are free to download (YouTube/Netflix, etc...)

I actually thought that the Action Replay 4MB cart was actually the must-have to own on Sega Saturn ?
This allows you to play Japanese games with the 4MB extension pack and all and i think unlicensed games as well.

Point taken... actually forgot about that
