On the other hand, it could be an interesting variation for the star power up in my game. :P (although I would probably invert the colors)

Blink ALL the colors? :p that would make a quite trippy walrus! :p

Indeed. It would be kinda like in SMB3, though. I tried by the way and it looks fine.

What about Rainbow Walrii?
u/Dream of Omnimaga December 02, 2014, 12:00:36 AM
The HP Prime doesn't have a command to change sprites hue, so nope. :P

I could always do it manually, but that would be a bit slow-ish I think.

Just cache the sprite at runtime. :P

I made this on a whim :3

I like how it came out. :D There probably won't be much room for such power up in the game unless I decide to make a double jump or dash one, or if I decide to make another game at one point where you can switch between power ups, but nice job :)

Cat Walrii, I assume? :P
u/Scipi December 11, 2014, 05:27:54 AM
It's a cat in a walrus suit. Notice the zipper on the side :p
u/Dream of Omnimaga December 11, 2014, 06:07:28 AM
I know. :P If I ever used it in the game, I would probably have to limit power ups to one equipped at a time since it's impossible to use the lobster and cat ones simultaneously and the game currently plans to support multiple power ups at once (the wings and spikes are just extra sprites displaying on top of the character).

EDIT: On a side note, here are grayscale Walrii's below :D (useable for a 84+ splash screen, preferably compressed, tho):

I like the catwalrus. :3 Also, nice splash screens DJ, these will definitely be in Illusiat. (why don't I work on it T.T)

Hehe thanks. The 4 level one was made right after I made the site logo, but I just created the other ones now.

However, what I would recommend is using a 50x48 image for the Walrii part (or a scaled up 24x24 walrii and the background utilizing the Line() command) and a custom set of fonts for the URL. Otherwise, I don't think many people would like to waste over 768 bytes of space just for a copyright splash screen. For a particularly complex title screen, people don't mind, but the above is somewhat simple in general.
u/novenary December 11, 2014, 10:03:13 AM
Actually it's 768*2 since you need two layers for gs, but it can be clipped and displayed with the bitmap command in Axe.
u/Dream of Omnimaga December 11, 2014, 10:44:03 PM
Ttur, although even 768 for monochrome would be rather large for a simple screen. :P

If you RLE encode it, it'll be significantly smaller, Brass can auto-rle encode data/pics, and DCS/MOS include an RLE decoder routine...
I love my assembly :P
