The following calc website screenshot looks fine, right?

Well, it's not. But here's the funny thing: That website (which was around from 2004 to 2005 and I was part of its programming group) previously used a dark, black and gold theme/design. However, during Summer 2005, the website was hacked and guess what the hacker did instead of destroying the site? He changed the theme (and improved it in the process because it was less buggy and easier to read, although I would have chosen different colors)

That was a rather weird hacking attempt nonetheless.

I bet he probably also stole the database in the process, but it was still kinda funny since hackers normally just leaves a message or don't say anything, and they especially don't devote personal time to improve the site theme.

Really? I didn't know they did that now. I thought they more or less did stuff like "HackerNickname was here." or "I hacked your site because it was filled with exploits. You should fix them ASAP"

Ah, those are more linked with high-profile websites which, once defaced will definitely make the news. Most notably, the creator of Notepad++ which, as a Taiwanese immigrant in France (which is probably the kind of people you don't want to be due to recent events), sometimes use his fame to make political statements ISIS and Syrian hacking groups definitely won't like.
